@Riyusuta Yeah the button does cause a spike in power output temporarily, but it also reduces the meltdown threshold. You need to use it tactically for it to work well
Riyusuta 6 hours ago
@rotten, i've notticed that you just need to press shutdown for it to blow, even when it is stable, so there has to be an issue right? or is it normal
the twinkler 29 Oct @ 5:57am
or made a version with npcs like kleiner or magnusson or barney spread around the building to make it look like tere are workers so its ready for a rp or something like that.
the twinkler 29 Oct @ 5:31am
could be fun if you made a system that makes the radiaton spread across the map with time after the explosion.
CommanderAndrewNuclear1986 29 Oct @ 4:08am
can you add the Fire Station and A Arrow where lead to the Reactor
CommanderAndrewNuclear1986 28 Oct @ 11:24am
hey Rotten The PSI On 9999 you are cooked cuz is made a Earth Boomer
Rotten  [author] 28 Oct @ 7:38am
@the twinkler Just disengage the water circulation pump or reduce water flow and raise control rods, that should do the trick.
the twinkler 28 Oct @ 7:36am
but how to kaboom
BingusKong 27 Oct @ 3:55pm
where is the control room?
CommanderAndrewNuclear1986 27 Oct @ 7:44am
ROTTEN THAT GOOD YOU MADE A UPDATE TO THE CONTROL ROOM NOW YOU CAN KNOW WHAT PSI IS IT
Rotten  [author] 26 Oct @ 4:35am
@szlajmicek Go down into the basement from the back of the turbine hall and then walk forward in the tunnel until you see the nearest safe room sign. Then, there should be a staircase down, the generator is there.
szlajmicek 26 Oct @ 4:27am
cant find the generator in the basement to extingush the reactor after a meltdown:steamsad:
Rotten  [author] 26 Oct @ 3:44am
@AZ-5 Press aftermath You can already technically make the turbines "explode". Just connect them to the grid when they haven't synced yet. Also, the reactor isn't like an RBMK, so you wouldn't be able to see the fuel rods jumping up and down.
AZ-5 Press aftermath 25 Oct @ 11:25am
could you make it where your able to explode the turbines? and also would be nice if you could actual control rodels that are able to jump up and down before it explodes. Also GREAT map i love it!
Rotten  [author] 25 Oct @ 3:55am
@bebra -_- If you meant that I made the map INSIDE CHERNOBYL, which was actually a big inspiration initially, nope. But if you meant whether or not I would be making a map about the Chernobyl NPP, I would have to answer that maybe not. It would take months to make, considering I’d have to go through tons of records and schematics to recreate it.
bebra -_- 25 Oct @ 3:46am
Hi, do you make Chernobyl NPP?
Rotten  [author] 25 Oct @ 3:05am
@Cyberdome Thank you!!!!
Rotten  [author] 25 Oct @ 3:05am
@Iwasnotfound595 I could make one
Rotten  [author] 25 Oct @ 3:04am
@toph As another person had the same issue and discovered it was one of their addons, I suggest you check if you may have some kind of addon causing this:steamthumbsup:
Iwasnotfound595 25 Oct @ 1:53am
Do you ever plan on making a discord server?
Cyberdome 24 Oct @ 4:13pm
Underrated
toph 24 Oct @ 3:48pm
my frames are suffering on this one but i'll give you benefit of the doubt that this works
Rotten  [author] 24 Oct @ 2:37pm
@Odysseus This is very real, but this way, no green house gasses get released!!!:steamhappy:
Rotten  [author] 24 Oct @ 2:37pm
@Nasyor Vakan-ali The what now :sob:
Odysseus 24 Oct @ 2:20pm
thousands of years of human development and technological progress... all to boil water in 100 different ways
Nasyor Vakan-ali 24 Oct @ 2:08pm
I like how this map shows everything about fiinnish conspiracy in nuclear elevator industry. Also i love the abillity to revenge for everything they made to us during WW2 by nuclear extermination. Yazov approved!
Rotten  [author] 24 Oct @ 10:04am
@Mr.GrinderMan I could add that to the control room. Thanks for the suggestion!
Mr.GrinderMan 24 Oct @ 10:01am
So the alarm after the explosion happens turns off after a while? it would be nice to have some sort of place to turn it off yourself, like an emergency station or something
Rotten  [author] 24 Oct @ 6:06am
@Iwasnotfound595 That's true, I am planning to add like a few tweaks and stuff, and then move onto another reactor related project that's a bit smaller than this one. Also, you are not bothering me at all, I love reading comments and replying to them:steamhappy:
Iwasnotfound595 24 Oct @ 6:01am
Just a suggestion, but maybe you should add some secrets/Easter eggs to this map. You can add whatever you want, but I was thinking a backrooms Easter egg, like the secret backrooms area in GM_liminal_hotel. Sorry if I'm bothering you by asking too much.
Rotten  [author] 23 Oct @ 10:09pm
@Sirro Thank you!!!:steamhappy:
Rotten  [author] 23 Oct @ 10:08pm
@Iwasnotfound595 Damn, I’ll seriously consider it. It would just take a bit of time to make if I decide to make it:steamthumbsup:
Iwasnotfound595 23 Oct @ 7:28pm
Good news for you. The creator of the Chernobyl map gave you permission to make an improved version of their map. They said that you just have to give
credits. (You can check the comment section of gm_ambient_build if you want proof.)
Sirro 23 Oct @ 2:08pm
nice work!
Rotten  [author] 23 Oct @ 9:04am
@Andro Hey, this is not expected at all. I get around 200-300 fps on this map myself (but it shows 300 fps). It's probably a problem on your end, maybe you have some kind of addon causing this? Also, what kind of system do you have?
Andro 23 Oct @ 8:53am
I'm having performance issues with this map on a powerful system (getting about ~50fps while I normally have 300fps capped) Would you be able to tell if this is a problem on my end or if this is expected? Thanks
Rotten  [author] 22 Oct @ 2:48pm
I’ll add them soon
Rotten  [author] 22 Oct @ 2:48pm
@notchrisbacon Sure, why not:steamthumbsup:
notchrisbacon 22 Oct @ 2:19pm
AI nodes and a navmesh so I can play Five Nights at the Reactor
Rotten  [author] 22 Oct @ 1:12pm
@Bob I could look to implement some statistic screens, it seems like a pretty cool idea. Thank you!
Bob 22 Oct @ 1:11pm
what it needs is realtime displays though
Lemon Arsonist 22 Oct @ 1:05pm
at 1:23:45 AM on April 26, 1986, reactor 4 exploded
Rotten  [author] 22 Oct @ 11:55am
@Bob Oh yeah, that's intentional. The reason why is because the effects of doing an action do not immediately kick in so to say. For example, slowing down water flow will not IMMEDIATELY cause a significant temperature fluctuation. This is to add even SOME realism to this admittably somewhat unrealistic simulator, but it's the best I can manage while balancing performance and fun with realism. I would try to make it more realistic if people want that though:steamhappy:
Bob 22 Oct @ 11:44am
the readings take too long to update after pressing switches
Rotten  [author] 22 Oct @ 11:35am
Fair enough
Maqsud101 22 Oct @ 11:28am
reactor operation guide for nerds. :cozybethesda:
Rotten  [author] 22 Oct @ 11:26am
@Maqsud101 Yeah, so you might have reduced water flow to the reactor core, raised the control rods too high without sufficient cooling, or even disengaged the water circulation pump. Maybe even a combination of many things. Have you looked at the reactor operation guide found above? If you have any questions, feel free to ask:steamhappy:
Maqsud101 22 Oct @ 11:23am
I just pushed buttons.
