Whenever certain things become a certain temperature it can be stabbed.
For example, a robot is likely to be made out of some titanium alloy, likely Ti-6Al-4V. Its melting point is 3000 Fahrenheit, at 1648 (1650 degrees Fahrenheit , the robot would be penetrated by the steel sword.) assuming its armour is half an inch thick.:wave~1:
I know it would probably take many calculations if you want to do it precisely, but you could alternatively just make every material penetrate or at a certain temperature.
It would also be interesting to see penetration be increased the higher an objects temperature is.
