There is also the universal mech recharger mod that has wide range wireless recharging, if keeping mechs charged up is a concern.

You could always make it so that the Waiter Robots simply have more energy that depletes slowly.

@TurtleShroom: The other Cash Register only let you select colonists. I COULD make a patch to make it also show mechanoid waiters, but since the mechanoids are robots, I thought a computer cash register would be more fitting. Also, my initial intention was to make Stand By waiter mechs to have reduced discharging rate (as if they were connected to the register), but I'd have to rewrite the whole Stand By job for that, so I discarded that idea...

@Omegaprime02: You can check the source code directly from Github [github.com] if you want. The black magic is that this mechanoid have skills and a background, as any colonist. But the background is blank (so, it does not add any traits) and the mechanoid skill-checks are hardcoded to 10 (so having the mechanoid level up it's social does not do anything).

Fantastic stuff. This way, I can save on colonist labor in my Bolt Bisney Park and Resort playthrough.
Reserve human manpower for stuff that requires intelligence and creativity.
Use robots and mechanoids for the hard labor and the boring stuff.
And have less colonists and therefore less lag!
