This mod is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
One small thing I found , and I think it's a vanilla problem as I think it's a vanilla item ,is the inability to make tea from tea packets. I might be missing something though, I only started getting into cooking once I downloaded this mod

@Dumbass - thank you very much :luv:

@Juggernaut - thank you, I can look into it :spiffo: :luv:

@Luca - what would you suggest? Longer, shorter times? :spiffo:
Luca 22 hours ago
It would be great if you could rework expiration time of all foods as well :)
Juggernaut 22 hours ago
Great mod, love it!!!
But could you implement the boxing and packing of the canned food? Even with the "box more" mod I can't do it.
Dumbass 22 hours ago
This mod and it's creators are awesome. I cannot stress enough how much I love this mod, It's going to be one of the mods I'll always use. I want to wish the creators a good day and success in working on and updating this fantastic mod. :tobdog:

Hey guys! I've fixed up not being able to open bags/boxes of frozen food while frozen - bit of an oversight on my behalf.

Thank you everyone for all of your feedback and wonderful support. We couldn't do it without you guys! We have some cool stuff cooking up for the next update, can't wait to show you! :luv: :spiffo:
Aatheom  [author] 7 Oct @ 2:27pm
@bab
It seems that some item boxes can't be opened while frozen.
A fix is on the way. In the meantime, you can thaw them before opening.
Thanks for the feedback! :spiffo:

why am i dumb and cant open a box of uncrustables? i figure maybe i need a knife but i had one in my pocket ;-;
Jamolisim 7 Oct @ 9:04am
I think the mod is great but because there are so many options I feel like you need to turn down availability of foods in options! Godo work though.

When I see chicken tenders I die on the inside
(i work in mcdonalds)
Rodjir 6 Oct @ 6:53pm
Bro you really put your heart and soul into a mod for food this is the ultimate food mod
Aatheom  [author] 6 Oct @ 5:55pm
To avoid any confusion, we've changed the way we phrase things - Vanilla Foods Expanded does not conflict with anything on the workshop
hammondgeorge653 6 Oct @ 5:54pm
I didn't know I needed this. Thank you for the mod and existing!
FlyingCherry 6 Oct @ 5:02pm
it has compatibility with sapp's cooking?
Jarvalicious 6 Oct @ 2:01pm
This reminds me of the 'Vanilla Expanded' mod series by Oskar Potocki for, Rimworld and makes me hyped asf for the future of PZ modding. I really hope that's what this leads to bcz those mods are full DLC sized expansions released for free
jiizzjacuzzii  [author] 5 Oct @ 11:36pm
@McDouble - you need a saucepan or pot that's filled with water, you'll then need to open up the crafting menu, find the recipe 'Prepare Cooking Pot of Pasta', craft it - that'll give you a saucepan/pot of the tortellini (uncooked), you can then use a heat source to cook it. :spiffo:
McDouble 5 Oct @ 10:54pm
I've tried just eating it on it's own or in a bowl, still no luck. I'm sure it's just me missing something, but I can't even get it to start cooking in an oven, it just gets hot
Skarvha 5 Oct @ 9:54pm
I saw a lot of recipes use Bacon. I haven't played in a couple of patches so this might be base game, but does your mod allow for making bacon?
user not found 5 Oct @ 8:50pm
b41 port please:bleach:
jiizzjacuzzii  [author] 5 Oct @ 8:20pm
@McDouble - I haven't added the ability for it to be added to evolved recipes, like stew or soup. Right now, it's just prepared and on it's own and can be served in a bowl, but I can look into it :spiffo:
McDouble 5 Oct @ 7:27pm
I'm sure I'm missing something, but I just can't get the Three Cheese Ravioli to work. I know it should work like pasta but even with a pot with hot water, there's just no option to make or use ravioli in the "Create Stew", "Create Soup", etc. options or anywhere else. Other than that, amazing mod!
Barcode 5 Oct @ 6:52pm
this MIGHT be better than sapph's cooking
also, 1500 models at just 60mb is outstanding, great job and thanks for this.
ventilador TOP 5 Oct @ 6:20pm
works in b41 too ?
jiizzjacuzzii  [author] 5 Oct @ 5:46pm
@SonicGleb - close to 2 years! :spiffo:
SonicGleb 5 Oct @ 5:23pm
1500 models. omg.
how much did it take you :bleach:
Ki Charn Ro 5 Oct @ 2:21pm
ohhh im dumb as thanks
jiizzjacuzzii  [author] 5 Oct @ 2:07pm
@Jamolisim - yes, fine to be added and removed from a game, just keep in mind that anywhere you've already explored, won't have the new items :spiffo:

@Ki Charn Ro - you cook it in a saucepan or pot, like vanilla pasta. You can right-click any item and use 'show recipes used in' if you're ever unsure :spiffo:
Ki Charn Ro 5 Oct @ 2:05pm
how do you open ravioli i cant eat the dogs
Jamolisim 5 Oct @ 12:30pm
Can it be installed mid-game?
Aatheom  [author] 5 Oct @ 11:29am
@Kingkaze
You're right to ask that question, compatibility can have two meanings:

- Compatible means the mods can run together without causing errors or crashes. They don’t interfere with each other, but they don’t necessarily interact either.
- Integrated (or interoperable) means the mods actively work together. One mod can use items, features, or data from the other, creating a more connected experience.

Here, 'compatible' refers to the first explanation
Thanks for your support :spiffo:

@Kaoeutsu
You can run both mods together without any issues.
Each one adds a bunch of food, with its own unique take
FaithBlade 5 Oct @ 11:28am
:steamthumbsup:
Kingkaze 5 Oct @ 9:54am
Question: You said, its compatible with every Mod. Is it really ? So i can use your Mod with the Mod "Box it" (or something like this) to box a stack of your items into one item (as a package) ?
ReadyForTheDevil 5 Oct @ 8:06am
b41 coming soon ?
Kaoeutsu 5 Oct @ 6:39am
Do you recommend running your mod standalone or does it combine well with Sapphs Cooking? I don't know if both mods add the same things or not
jam 5 Oct @ 5:16am
love it <3
jiizzjacuzzii  [author] 5 Oct @ 2:14am
@Ariex - we all have our preferences! that's why it's a sandbox game :spiffo: thanks for the nice feedback :luv:
Ariex 5 Oct @ 2:03am
@jiizzjacuzzii Oh no worries, I am aware I'm particular when it comes to food rates. You did great, thanks for shedding light on your loot-bloat mitigation process, it largely worked. But yes, with this mod I will need to tweak down my settings compared to what I used to run. Easy fix! Keep up the great work
jiizzjacuzzii  [author] 5 Oct @ 1:58am
@Ariex - I don't know what else I can really say to this, finding one food item on average per household on insane loot settings (again, a mix of base game items and VFX items), is the vanilla spawn rate. If you've got other mods that are adding stuff to the same loot tables, it inadvertntly can become more bloated. If you want even less loot, reduce your loot settings?
Ariex 5 Oct @ 1:37am
@jiizzjacuzzii Your stats resonate with what I'm seeing too. Zapping around looks like every household has on average 1 item from this mod (with the odd 2 in a single container). You did an excellent job in mitigating loot bloat considering the sheer amount of items. Yet, it's I have a feeling that is not yet near the vanilla spawn rate
慕苏.青鸾 5 Oct @ 1:30am
It seems to be a very useful and interesting mod. I also enjoy cooking and hoarding food. However, I have always been playing version 41, so I can only say I'm envious here. I wonder if the author has any plans for this in the future. It would be even better if there were Chinese instructions.:cat_stars::cat_stars::steamthumbsup:
jiizzjacuzzii  [author] 5 Oct @ 1:27am
@Ariex

I just hit up Muldraugh on insane loot settings to confirm and test, I found 19 food items (base game and food added by VFX), across 20 houses, that's every single cupboard, fridge and freezer in a kitchen. 0.2 loot settings seems to spawn a tad more than insane loot settings from what I can tell?

If you do care about the logistics, VFX's loot distribution was designed with a hybrid approach - since adding thousands of items to the loot distribution tables would bloat it really fast. I made dummy items, that are replaced when the containers are filled. Then, I also piggy-back'd off base game spawns to reduce the potential bloat even further. Meaning, when fruit (for example) is spawned in, it looks for a base game fruit, then it takes that slot to either spawn the base game fruit or a fruit added by the mod. I re-wrote this script four times before I was confident in it for release, I've tested it on every possible loot setting and was really happy with the results.
Helixien 5 Oct @ 1:23am
yes!
Ariex 5 Oct @ 1:10am
@jiizzjacuzzii It was it 6 across 10 containers. Nothing huge really, some frosting, beers etc. I use loot settings of .2 for both perishable and not
It was in houses cupboards. I could have been just victim of RNG, I'm having a better look
jiizzjacuzzii  [author] 5 Oct @ 1:04am
@Ariex - what was the container, and what food did you find? Like, was it 6 items in the one container on insane loot settings, was it 6 across 10 containers? Did you find other food along with it? I really need some context to investigate.

I've tested over and over, on every loot setting and everything is really balanced. If something is unbalanced, I'll fix it.
Ariex 5 Oct @ 12:51am
Are we sure loot tables are not affected? I had a quick look and out of 10 house containers I looked into 6 had items from this mod...
Pack it in folks, this is the DEFINITIVE food mod now.
CoCo 4 Oct @ 2:10pm
your welcome :steamhappy:
jiizzjacuzzii  [author] 4 Oct @ 1:52pm
@PuerNoctis - yes, safe to add and remove from a safe ~ just be mindful that anywhere you've already explored won't have new items :spiffo:

@CoCo - all of these are planned, I'm hoping to do a farming update a little later down the track, to grow the new fruits and vegetables. Foraging and butchering should come a bit sooner, just have to figure out how to do it :spiffo: thank you for the lovely feedback :luv:
CoCo 4 Oct @ 1:49pm
Overall though this mod seems very polished and well made and is a good replacement for Sapho's cooking if you want a mod that has a more vanilla feeling to it
CoCo 4 Oct @ 1:47pm
Just wondering: do all the added fruits and vegetables have a chance to spawn in foraging mode like base game ones? Do they have corresponding seeds? Do the added meats have a chance to be dropped when you butcher an animal? this is just some stuff i am wondering and if not it makes a good suggestion!
