Hey there, it seems the ram missiles have no body for me. Does that happen for others too?

Muddy: oh okay. I may alter the description. Yeah shipbuilding is complicated. At one project I had they had to remove a whole deck of a yacht and rebuild it with aluminum to save weight.

here's another thing btw... the F123 was not built with this "upgrade in mind" she was supposed to have the 32 cells, only during construction it was found that this would add to much weight too high up, wich would cause instability issues so it was reduced. other measures were also taken to insure the F123 class remains stable with the added weight of sensor retrofits over the years wich i don't think i am at liberty to disclose (this is not a warthunder forum after all lol)

so it will definetly never happen, but it is nice as a "what if" scenario :D

@Chevron 9 Thank you very much for the fix. I have addressed the RIM-116 problem by loading the mod ahead of everything else (except for SeaLifter and AnchorChain).

@USS Dogwater: fixed the MLU not showing bug. That RIM-116 bug should come from a conflicting mod. I disabled everything but Sealifter, Anchorchain and Sea Lynx and it worked.

Following this update, the RIM-116 missiles are now invisible, and the fictional 2030 variant no longer shows up in the encyclopedia or mission editor.

yeah for sure, if there had been serious tensions in 2012, we would have had every helo equipped with them in 2013. so i think it's totally fair to have them ingame

@Muddy: the official Bundeswehr site says the Sea Lynx has a AN/AQS-18 dipping sonar. Not at the same time as the torpedos tho, the mod needs an update so you have to either take the sonar or torpedos.

@DeDave unfortunatly no.

the german navy has never had any unit capable of having a towed sonar, and our Helos don't have dipping sonars either. the german procurement ministry is of the opinion that hull mounted sonars are sufficient for Submarine hunting. or at least they held that belief for a long time, eversince the Ukraine-russia conflict more thought (and budget) is given to possible submarine threats

@DeDave: They tested the TAS 6-3 on the F217 Bayern. It never was adopted. The MLU will get it finally, but it‘s not clear which one. Maybe the Atlas ACTAS or the Thales CAPTAS-2. My prediction is the Atlas. I will model it in the future, but the animation of it is not that easy.

I mean the weapon stations between the bridge and the MLG under the grey cover. They seem to be only there after the upgrade to the new liferafts, ingame the 2015 version. Should have come around 2012, don‘t they?

what do you mean by that last comment?

HMG stations as in for the .50 cals? SMG and HMG stations are all over the ship, but they are more for Fast attack craft & suicide boats, and not depicted in the game on any vessel

A new 2012 version (only F218): basically the same as 2007 but with a closed maneuver deck, still the old MASS „roof“ on the side of the bridge and 4 cells packed with ESSM.

There are photos of F217 in 2018 without any ASMs, thats what I meant :D added your version btw, hope 16x ESSM and 12 NSSM is quite realistic.

I'd assume so too. i did think that in 2012 we already had that mix, it must have come during Fähigkeitsanpassung FüWes from 2010 on, seeing as Mecklenburg Vorpommern (lovingly known as Marine-Versuchs-Projekt [Naval Test subject] bc of the acronym MVP) was the first to do this, it makes sense that we had that, whereas the other F123s didn't. Sabrina 21 took a LONG time to get working, i think something like 8 years (and now after 5 years in use it's being replaced because it's obsolete. LOL)

but by 2018 the MM38s were all gone, that much is certain :)

Thought about this too. You mean the 2015 loadout? It isnt even official the Ammunition Exchange Program was carried out, only that it should get done after 2014.

But this game is about the full capability. IRL other vessels won‘t have all new ammunition too, especially the russian ones imo.

I could do a ship with a NSSM/ESSM mix, maybe later this day. Or a 2018 version without Harpoon or Exocet :D In a wartime scenario the ammunition would be exchanged a lot faster I would assume.

Not sure about the VLS loadout being solely NSSMs (or sea sparrow) essentially the ship can get a mix of either NSSMs or quad packed ESSMs per VLS canister, so a healthy mix would be great, only packing NSSMs makes her AAW capabilities quite limited

Oh a K130 would be so cool. I would love some more modern corvette sized ships for the western factions, as they are currently really lacking those in game.

A k130 would be neat, we often had them in WHV when they went into the shipyard. they are so cute (and actually pretty capable!)

Thank you, for your help and your service. The aft balcony near the radar mast got widened too a year or too after it got MASS. Found pics of F216 before and after that at Blohm in 2010 (iirc). Modeled that yesterday.

I hope the first one comes out of the shipyard fast and reveals if it got the Atlas Actas or the Thales Captas-2 VDS (and if it got KORA-40, but this is very likely). I even found a brochure that shows the F123 maneuvering deck with it fitted, but that doesn’t mean much. But it would help really much for modeling it.

But I have to get the textures together. There aren‘t any guides on shaders etc.

Started modeling the hull of F127 a week ago, but maybe I‘ll do the K130 next, don‘t know yet.

all I can say is I served on F218 from 2012-2014, back then we still had MM38s, they were then phased out, and when i came back into the fleet in 2016 they were getting fitted with Harpoon or already had it. some time before my time (so i guess around 2008-2010?) they closed up the aft maneuvring deck after there was an incident on one of them, where water flooded in through the stern at high speeds, there are now bulkheads that can be opened for line handling. other than that no major updates (that would change how the model looks) were made i guess. AA--> MLG, MM38 --> Harpoon, introduction of Mass evac system (i think that happened in 2012-2013, i think this was fitted whilst i was on the FGS Hamburg) of course the very old boats got replaced.

again, excellent mod. i made a mission with it called "Victors 2" and side by side with the F124 i really have to say your F123 looks A LOT more detailed.

@Muddy: oh I totally got that wrong, update is online. Apart from that it‘s so hard to find a year for a variant as they never were on the same upgrade level, but I think that’s a problem with all vessels. Pls say something if I got something wrong or missed a bigger or smaller detail.

great updates! I noticed that the 2007 variant has Harpoon on it, but this is a bit inaccurate. during 2012-2014 the MM38s were all fired into biscay to eventually replace them with Harpoon, but it happened even later than that, i think making the jump to harpoon with the 2015 version is close enough to reality

yeah probably. it was built in with warfare of a different time in mind.
it'd probably hit fighter bombers going overhead though.

GREAT model otherwise, very detailed, very cool. the first 2 of my 12 years of service i spent on F218 and i'm really happy that i can now build some scenarios with her!

@Muedyn: I know. There are not so many pictures of that gun. I will model it eventually and the MLG is a placeholder for now. The chance of intercepting missiles with it would be nearly 0 too. Maybe I just model the gun as a decoration.

i noticed there is a little error on the models, the 1996 version should not have the MLG gun, it had 2 twin 20mm AA guns at launch

if you have any unit or weapon with "missing text" ... you have only add a language file in your data base ... steam/steamapps/common/seapower/seapower data/streaming assets/orginal/language_en (for english) loadout_names.ini ... or edit this file

I love the mod but have issues with the weapons. Most of them (ESSMs, RIMs, RB15, Noisemakers and a few others) appear as MISSING TEXT. I tried it with all my mods (NTU, White Sands and a few models) and with just the Brandenburg and it´s requirements in mutlitple load orders. Still no luck.

this is one of the best models i've seen in the modding community tbh. The only thing i can neat pick on is that the doors when releasing the helicopter bugs out and wont fully close again
