It abuses how tf2 renders refraction. So to simplify it, I have glows behind a plane of refraction. That plane warps the glows or any other particles I have behind it, onto solid objects (such as the player and their hat), and causes a rimlight to appear too

Oh yeah it actually does look a lot like the Charged effects, how do you do that outline btw? Is it a custom script?

btw I know item test can be kinda weird with some hats when previewing effects, but it might be cool to show off the effect adjusting itself to the size and shape of different hats in a trailer.

This is like the Summer 2025 Charged effects if they got some kinda enchantment, I really enjoy the lighting gimmick. The sparkles too are just the cherry on top. Very nice. d:

Yesss more color changing effects, I'm all for these, really subtle but unlike the glow in the dark one, it's guaranteed to stay interesting no matter the map
