Perhaps make one of the attacks where he swings the hammer down actually deflect projectiles similar to how he reflects Susie's Rude Buster.
So the most changed move was side special. Let's talk about it.
if the opponent was on freefall side special didn't undo that before, now it does, i thought this was a feature to get some funny kills.
Instead now side special has a much stronger knockback getting K.O.s actually by just landing one or two. Also longer
honestly i want to ask for the old side special to come back, it just gave gerson so many silly K.O.s, maybe as some abyss runes? like a 3 slot rune that's like "side special doesn't cancel freefall" and a 2 slot rune that's like "side special cooldown & end lag reduced" so it's possible to have it as an option (although maybe slightly stronger and quicker than the original v1.0, as playing with runes means the opponent will have them as well)
TLDR: Overall, new side special is better, but old side special was funnier, so I propose buffing the old one and adding it as a rune or maybe two.
And make those up tils and up airs useful at all, any curve or size to them would help
Neutral Special - Maybe add a variant where you hold it for more projectiles? (And possibly have him jump from left to right like he does in Deltarune)
Side Special - PLEASE add a cooldown. The fact that it can actually kill pretty much makes the endlag irrelevant, and you can still spam it. Or, maybe, rework the attack into being a bullet hell minigame?
Down Special - Try to make it possible to aim the shell? I don't know.
Up Strong - Change what it is. It's quite busted at higher percents. Maybe a combo starter?
Up Air - Rework it entirely, preferably. It's just not good enough to be used at all.
Dash Attack - Nerf the damage, you can quite literally spam it and combo opponents to (if not, then nearly) Up Smash's kill percent. Or you could give it some endlag.
Some last things that would be really fun is enabling Rude Buster to be parry-able initiating a kind of rude Buster tennis as seen in the Gerson fight. Also stuff like being able to hit all of Gersons shells with his hammer making them bounce in different directions.
I should say that Upair is a bit underpowered. It would be good to add a bit more oomph. I also like some of the other ideas coming out of the community and would supports those changes to this and other moves.
I really must reiterate, your mod is amazing. It has been really fun to see Gerson come to life in this fighting game. Thank you.
Hello, your Hammer of Justice mod is amazing but I have a few ideas to make it even better:
For Upstrong instead of throwing a hammer up it could be one of those bouncy shells which could bounce a few times dealing damage and then vanish. Using Downair on the shell could send it straight to the ground exploding it into little stars
Also Gerson’s Green Rude Buster attack could put a green soul indicator over the target similar to other UT/DR mods. When the green soul is active, using Sidestrong could initiate a command grab where you do a mini game (like the one in the roaring knight beta mod) sending arrows from different directions and the target has to block it. This would be good because it references the arrow attack used frequently in the Gerson fight.
things like the rude buster and the hammers from the neutral special dont have actual knockback, the hammers dont do anything in terms of knockback, and the rude buster does send the enemy up, but it doesnt do actual knockback that does hitstun or anything, thus they kinda just... fly up, and it doesnt kill until much later percentages that make it a little ridiculous
i love the idea of the moveset, but it needs some adjustment, keep at it, so far, all that really needs to be done is some adjustments with the properties of some attacks hitting
