Found a way to get the MaA as the greeks you can find the tradition under Regional and just add it if you collect enough prestige! Which is very nice since I like only play as the Makedons in 867

Hello, i have an idea, pleace add a descision to restore late roman cult of sol invictus (Unconquered Sun). The emperor Aurelian revived his cult in 274 AD and promoted Sol Invictus as the chief god of the empire. From Aurelian onward, Sol Invictus often appeared on imperial coinage, usually shown wearing a sun crown and driving a horse-drawn chariot through the sky. His prominence lasted until the emperor Constantine I legalized Christianity and restricted paganism.

Hey I have an idea what if you bya cheep decision could restore the ERE culture so you can use the Men at arms even if you are playing historical charecters!

Hello, i thought getting rid of said titles de jure lands would effectively cease the title's usefulness, i originally intentionally left them out because it could break some aspects of the game and it was easier. But i'll test and if nothing changes, we can make the decisions destroy said titles, yes.
Sam 21. sep. kl. 0:06
I was wondering if you could make it so when you restore a diocese the titles it combines would be destroyed even if they are owned, for example I already had 2 seperate Kings of Italy and Romagna, and when I restored the Diocese of Ravenna it got rid of the other 2 kingdoms dejure lands but the titles themselves still existed

As a lover of Byzantine culture, I absolutely adore the module you've created. I eagerly await your updates! I wish you all the best!
ys  [ophavsmand] 17. sep. kl. 7:27
Thanks, enjoy. We're planning on adding more decisions/events to restore lost provinces. In fact, next update will bring egypt content. But there are neither plans to expand the additions to the greek culture, nor restoring colosseum & hadrians wall at the moment.
09alexlegendary 15. sep. kl. 11:06
Thanks for this mod! If i could have a request is that you can restore more provinces like gual and agyptus etc and that the greek culture also gets the men at arms. I like playing as Basil I and there for I cant use the cool men at arms. One more thing that could be cool is ifyou could restore the coloseum and Hadrians wall! Otherwise this mod is great!

Thank you for the amazing job, everyone really needed this! Just a couple of tips: in Roman Empire title history, it would be great if emperors without Latin names were given Latin ones (so ppl can have rulers like Hadrianus II instead of being forced to use the English form). Also, Elagabalus should be male, as he was in real life (Paradox incorrectly made him female).

Another idea: add a simple system where anyone—courtiers, governors, or rich families—can launch usurpation CB against the Byzantine/Roman Emperor. This would reflect the true nature of the imperial throne, open to anyone strong enough to seize it. Supporters of the emperor or the weak wouldn’t attempt it, but it would simulate the frequent revolts and failed usurpers that shaped Roman history, while adding challenge and story to playthroughs—new dynasties rising, others crushed.

Feel free to add me if you’d like to discuss further—I’d love to help!

UPDATE 0.4.3 - Ravenna - is now up!
ys  [ophavsmand] 5. sep. kl. 18:45
Great idea, thanks. I was thinking about something similiar!

smth like: restoring the western empire's dioceses or exarchies ( next update ;) ) will make it possible to "revive" the "western roman" culture. and after that conquering and restoring specific regions of the empire will grant you the possibility of branching the "western roman" culture into various sub-cultures, like you said > "gallo-roman" or "mauro-roman" etc etc..
Kaiser 5. sep. kl. 18:15
Maybe not what you've envisioned with the mod but I think it could be a cool idea to get decision to restore regional roman cultures in the west (like Gallo-Roman, Hispano-Roman, etc), who have their own unique cultural traditions maybe even Men-at-Arms. For example; the Iberians were known for their cavalry during Roman times. That aside i'm having plenty of fun larping, love the late roman names not enough people are even aware that the Romans used different names in later years. Also I have some experience making MaA so if you need any help I might have some time for that.

Thank you so much for these wonderful resources. I have selected quite a few and will be adding them in the next update.
grandadmiraljello 4. sep. kl. 17:46
Oh, I love this concept. FINALLY a Roman culture mod that uses late Roman naming conventions. I think that you could plausibly argue that in 867, these types of names would be used in the former Exarchate -- specifically Rome, Ravenna, and the narrow corridor between them that were under Byzantine control up to a century before our earliest start date.

See this JSTOR piece for the naming conventions of that region in the early medieval period, which are still recognizably Latinate. In fact, I highly recommend pulling some of these names to supplement the ones you've already got! https://www.jstor.org/stable/j.ctv512x7n.19?seq=1

I'll probably use it for a Theophylact run or a Naples run, myself. If I wanted to LARP a bit, I might even use this culture and pretend there are still old senatorial descendants of Anicia Juliana or Areobindus kicking around in Constantinople (there are at least some seals with the name "Areobindos" but I'm sure they'd be Hellenized by now).
PommesBudenBesitzer 4. sep. kl. 6:35
Rarely have I seen a mod that's getting updated that frequently, wow. Great Work!

I was actually referring to something like this: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3338639002
ys  [ophavsmand] 2. sep. kl. 14:43
instead what i can do is:

decision-or-event based modifiers or traits, giving bonuses to the root character during their reigns so that their vassals either are terrified, or they really do support him.

it would parallel justinian the greats reign, considering he faced various rebellions and strifes even after squashing the nika riots.
ys  [ophavsmand] 2. sep. kl. 14:38
thanks for the feedback. your reasoning is solid, here is my take:

considering the how in the eastern roman empire (or in any part of the roman history for that matter) internal politics worked, it think its safe to say that vassals were rarely content. they were ambitious aristocrats who tolerated the emperors rule as long as it suited them, or the said emperor was a really strong figure.

on the gameplay side of things, mods unique maA already tilts the balance in the players favor. if i eliminate vassal rebellions at high admin law, it would create a snowballing effect where the player would steamroll everything endlessly with no meaningful checks. the game doesnt implement the "me vassal, you emperor, you pass crown law higher, you take my power away from me, so me hate you" very well. but it does kinda make sense around the fact that if you would "threaten" them with taking their liberties and power farther away from them with advancing crown laws, ofc they would revolt.
SladeWyx 2. sep. kl. 14:02
It's a great mod, additionally could you change the administrative laws so that at high levels the vassals don't declare war just because they want to, breaking the borders?
ys  [ophavsmand] 2. sep. kl. 13:56
@gen1e sorry to dissappoint but i have no idea whatsoever how to make compatches. if anyone is willing to put it to work though, they have my endorsement.
ys  [ophavsmand] 2. sep. kl. 13:53
yes, you make great points and thanks for the feedback about heritage naming. im assuming you already read my thoughts earlier in this comment section. i have given it a lot of thought and i believe the term "eastern roman" captures the cultural continuity i aim for. although i understand the overlap with the "roman" identity (in this case the greeks), i feel that changing the name of the heritage groups such as "latin" or "eastern roman (byzantine)" group be might not be consistent with the cultural context im aiming for. therefore, i believe it makes the most sense keeping the naming of cultures and cultural groups the way that they are right now. i might add a flavor text to the greek culture to clarify the "distinction" further.
Juggynaut the Fourth 2. sep. kl. 12:58
This seems like a great mod especially for western provinces reconquered by Justinian, like Ravenna; because "Roman" doesn't quite fit for the Middle Ages and "Italian" doesn't have any Roman flavor.

Although one awkward thing is that Greek now has "Eastern Roman" heritage so you either have to be Eastern Romans who aren't Eastern Roman or Eastern Roman x2.
Gen1e 2. sep. kl. 11:55
great mod! but it seems that it's not incompatible with more bookmarks, can you look into it?
