Is this Looney Tunes?
Crystal Blitz 24 Aug @ 12:23am
I'll try to be constructive as possible, I understand pyro is goofy but this does not fit with pyro's aesthetic at all. You have many opportunities to involve fire instead of a boxing glove. You may call many of these comment hardcore "death of the artstyle" fans but it's true since it just makes no sense and would appeal towards the rich consumers who are furries or high tier traders.

I would not want my taunt to only appeal towards this small percentage of the player base but if you want that 5k paycheck. Be my guest.
Kirbymario694 22 Aug @ 4:40pm
Out of every thing you could make the flame making field do you decided to have her pull out a jack of the box, like come one there is more you can do with a piece of work like him. I get they can be a little bit childish but this is just lazy.
Terrible
Firedolphin 22 Aug @ 12:28pm
stupid
Myahster 21 Aug @ 8:37pm
I think Pyro has enough taunt kills.

... what if you gave this to Scout? :o
pwrwq 21 Aug @ 3:22pm
the kill taunt should play longer, like how the texas kill taunt is
Under? Under Where? 21 Aug @ 10:51am
haha yes, funy kil tant. Hell, might as well make an all classes kill taunt for a quick buck. No thanks.
Soy Bing 21 Aug @ 6:34am
What does any of this say Pyro besides the box's icon being Pyro's class emblem?
The Wizard 20 Aug @ 10:34pm
Okay, but let's be real. This plays a loud tune whenever you use it. If you get killed by this, it's your own damn fault.
it's so Jimbover 20 Aug @ 7:48pm
I'm not against adding more paid taunt kills. I just can't imagine what lead to someone saying "we should make one of them a boxing glove in a jack-in-the-box." It's so random I can't help but vote against it.
illumn8n 20 Aug @ 5:03pm
I prefer the more menacing pyro and I think this is fire, comments are all redditors and steam discussion gremlins

We don't need more garbage like this. Stop following trends
Zeugziumy 20 Aug @ 5:55am
I'm sorry setry, apparently the taunt duration on the Wiki is referring to the taunt as a whole, and not the time where it should kill. Although, it seems the frame that the Texan Trickshot attacks is around 3.5 seconds, while this one is 3.2 seconds (around the same).

I am not aware about the range since I haven't really used the taunt or saw that many people using it. I do know that Valve tried to nerf the range, but it was reverted due to be a controversial change (changing the stats AFTER it got in).

Still, I believe that the concept about this is to "surprise", and isn't exactly obvious as the Texan Trickshot, so my points still stand. Even though I believe that it can be salvaged with the airblast-like mechanic I have mentioned.
Luna 20 Aug @ 12:49am
checked and yeah, it is longer and I was wrong lol. I still stand with the opinion it doesn't really fit pyro too well, though the animation is really well made
Globaduy 20 Aug @ 12:08am
@setry now we talk about "texan trickshot" like about something bad to protect this shit, ye?
setry  [author] 19 Aug @ 11:26pm
People dont even check but the texan trickshot's execution time is shorter than this one's and it has a way longer range, also most taunts' executions are shorter than 3 seconds.

Taunt needs to be longer if it's intended as a killtaunt (the Texan Trickshot is 6 seconds long, while this is like half of it), and sadly, I feel like the nature of this taunt may not be ideal as a killtaunt.

I feel like for "paid" killtaunts, it needs to be obvious that it's going to kill someone. The Texan Trickshot does this very well, and the way the Engineer menacingly rotates the revolver that it means bad business. Here, the taunt prop and animation is meant to be a surprise, which I think it doesn't work.

I think this could be salvaged if Valve made the effect "pushback", like the airblast, though it should only airblast to very close players and not actual projectiles (to avoid random projectiles being deflected). If the player is already close, the Pyro could either use this (takes time) or just airblast. That means it's basically a different way to "airblast", but with a long windup time. Ammo doesn't need to be consumed upon using the taunt.

Having a pushback to players close to an edge can be quite humorous, like the "Prod" in the Worms series.

Kookus Maximus 19 Aug @ 6:42am
We all knew that Engineer's new taunt kill would open the flood gates, didn't we?
JAS-C 19 Aug @ 6:41am
I mean, we had a few silly cosmetics and taunts for Pyro, that feels a bit cartoony from time to time(Like, riding Ballonicorn or the skates one)...

But I feel that ir's too much. Even tho we got some taunts with huge objects like trash can or target stand - they at least looks like they was conveniently placed and made for simple quick visual joke, but this... Pyro carries it, use it as weapon, and over all design is literally the staple of slapstick - giant boxing glove on spring.

I'm against it - we need some kind of limit with it.
Patch 19 Aug @ 5:55am
I gotta agree, nothing about the Pyro in itself really yells "boxing glove in a jack in the box". The engineer taunt kill works because of the Texan cowboy persona that's been built around him, both with cosmetics and existing taunts. But Pyro with this? Nothing. So, nah bro.
♥Snake :3♥ 19 Aug @ 5:36am
Is it even questioning this?. No it’s not because tauntkill thats whatevs. But like. Like… Genuinely, what about punching glove in a jack in a box screams “The Pyro”. Actual random word generator ass taunt, that’s the vibe i get.
shitter 19 Aug @ 5:33am
Im not averse to new taunt kills being added, but I do not enjoy this ones concept. It's a little much.
Globaduy 19 Aug @ 5:26am
CAN WE JUST NOT ADD PAYBLE TAUNTKILLS IN THE GAME?
KillKenny 19 Aug @ 4:43am
the taunt needs to be longer
paid taunt kills shouldnt be actually viable alternatives to weapon locked taunt kills
Zumo Nacho INC 19 Aug @ 4:43am

@Grampa Swood not really, the haduken is a 2 second taunt kill same with the scorch shot taunt kill.
Globaduy 19 Aug @ 4:18am
NOT AGAIN
Grampa Swood 19 Aug @ 4:16am
Isn't 3.2 seconds kill time faster than most weapon taunts for Pyro?
