@Mlie I can't program, and I don't know how to make mechanics, I can of course edit mods (delete unnecessary, edit the research tree a little, adjust the construction recipe, combine several mods into 1) and translate, I don't know how to place all this, and when localizing I completely translate the mod, i.e. including the contents of the Defs folder, if there is no necessary in the Languages ​​folder. The mod is great, but there is no localization for the contents of the Thing.xml file

I think it would be better to remove the upgrade button from buildings, leave only upgrades through research and clarify the number of upgrades, and also rebalance. For example, base damage 6, first upgrade +19 damage and maximum +9 upgrades +25 damage, research cost x2 of the previous one; base penetration 50% and 10 upgrades +10% penetration; remove capacity altogether or display it as the total battery charge in the system; instead of upgrading capacity, add the Ion Capacitor building (analogous to a battery) with a capacity of 5000. Make the first version of the drill operator-controlled (like a mortar). Add research - Automation (the second version of the drill) and add the AI ​​Core to the resources required for construction; when deleting a building, the resources (at least the AI ​​Core) should return.

Just for fun, I went to devmode in a test save and loaded one of these onto a Technical Vehicles dreadnaut, to see if I could physically carry the cannon to a site to assault with. (Or, you know, mine, which I'd probably do more.) Unfortunately, vehicle maps confuse it. Only Cross Map works, and even then mouse-aim is disabled.

Well, that's okay. You can always leave it at home and cross-map from there. Worth trying, though!

@OceanOfGaming It seems to be a design decision. You are not upgrading one drill, you are upgrading the tech they all use.

Just tried this mod.
As @Inquisitor and @{SRI} Oracle said, when you build it, it starts lagging like crazy. Dub's Performance Analyzer shows it's due to rapid and repeated calls of:
"MYDE_DrakkenLaserDrill.Comp_UpdateByBuilding:CompTick",
"MYDE_DrakkenLaserDrill.Comp_DrakkenLaserDrill_AutoAttackCompTick",
"MYDE_DrakkenLaserDrill.Comp_DrakkenLaserDrill_Attack_CrossMap:CompTick",
and a few others (you can find these under the Thing Comps section of Dubs Performance Analyzer).

Shame, this mod seemed cool. But if its coded in such a way that building one halves my TPS, then I won't use it.

Like to report building this runs fine at x1 but soon as you increase game speed to x2 or x3 TPS utterly shredded. At x3 was pushing 150TPS max where soon as I deconstruct this it goes to 360.

The Drakken Laser Drill causes a significant decrease in tps, no matter in the form of building or item. This problem is not serious when there are fewer mods(tps from 3000 to about 2400). However it could be serious when there are more mods and the tps is decreased from 360 to about 120.

In my saved files, this mod will cause a situation where when the four-times speed is enabled, the work efficiency is only at the level of the one-time speed. After dismantling the Laser Drill, the work efficiency returns to normal. I added this mod halfway through, and I'm not quite sure about the cause of this bug.

Small issue: The "Attack all enemies" also targets CAPTURED anomalies, which means if you aim it at a base with anomalies, expect to loose your base cause the laser will just go through your base to kill the anomaly creatures you captured inside

Just a heads up, you may want to add 'research whatever' as an incompatibility.

It has repeatable infinite research that interrupts the research pattern and will just repeatedly trigger the same one without advancing past it.
