Good mod fixes the dyson spheres and the ringworlds, but the planetary orbital rings are broken for me when using this. It looks like they sit below the orbital plane the planets are on.

Sure! Go right ahead! I have no idea of how that stuff works, I just had a hunch about how and why the Megastructures are incompatible. If this leads you to making a proper fix, go right ahead and use this!

so, even though it might not be a practical change, do you think that patching the real space giant stars to actually be as big as the appear visually would allow for more mega structures to work around them? cuz I might try to take a crack at that tbh.
