Bit of a late reply, my bad.

I based his abilities and appearance off of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show back in '89, and not the RPG series.

I did that so these goobers would stand out a bit more, as I figured that a lot of people would try to make Mario and Luigi characters. Hopefully that explanation helped.
