Update: 29th Aug, 2025
v0.5

I have added a cleanliness and beauty value which makes sense as it is much smaller and creates more space whilst looking much nicer than the larger one. I have also tweaked the power consumption to match its size.

Added:
- Cleanliness: 0.05
- Beauty: 1

Tweaks:
- Changed Power Consumption from 175 to 140.

See the change note for details.

Holy shit, this is fantastic

Oh yeah, they work fine in space now, before they were struggling. Thanks for the changes.

@Cozy - You haven't updated to the latest version. I have already changed the values to match those of the vanilla heater & cooler; I haven't tested it in space yet. As they are smaller, I suppose I could always lower the power consumption, which makes sense. I will wait for further feedback first. The default heaters use the same 175 power consumption: https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Heater

Yeah, i know these are supposed to be weaker then regular heaters, But they are insanely weak and inefficient power wise to a normal heater when you're in space. It'd be nice if they consumed less power.

v0.4

- Fixed the white lining on textures, thanks to (Veltaris) in the Rimworld discord for the help.

Thanks 比烧酒, who gave feedback on it. I thought it was just my side and looked into it, and now it's been fixed.

Hi! I really like your mod, it replaced two mods I used before, and currently I think this mod is doing well! However, the texture seems not very perfect, because when zoomed in, there are white borders, and it couldn't perfectly blend into my wall. The white borders make it very noticeable!:er_heart:

@PremierVader - Thanks, tried to keep them as close to the vanilla Rimworld theme as possible.

The graphics look so neat.

Hi there! Great mod but I'd argue that the heaters and coolers should be as strong as the standing options depending on how you look at it. If you look at it from a gameplay point of view, then yes, they do use up less space since you get one or two more tiles per room due to the lack of vanilla heaters for example. If you look at it from a realistic point of view then they should be at least just as powerful as their standing counterparts since the wall heater get's the entire wall segment for it's inner workings (as long as the heater is not just slapped ON the wall but instead goes inside it) while the small standing pillar has way less internal space.

I for one am more in favor for making them just as strong as their vanilla counter parts. It just makes it more comfortable and flexible for aesthetical room designers like myself. But in the end, it's your choice! Thank you for your service to the modding community! (°-°)7

Yea true, I will add it to the description, thanks :)
NeinDao 8 Aug @ 9:34am
i think its fine as long as people are informed that they are weaker. i at least just expected it to be as strong as a normal one :P
easy to work around now that i know :3
5tratz  [author] 8 Aug @ 9:30am
@NeinDao - of course, they are smaller and made to be compact ie on the wall, just raise the temp more than normal, I can change how it works if a majority of the feedback wishes so.
NeinDao 8 Aug @ 9:26am
are these less effective than the normal version? i seem to need more for the same temp control
5tratz  [author] 8 Aug @ 9:02am
@Lukas - works fine my end, are you using any other mods? for conflicts as stated I am not sure yet, but checking the temperature on your UI you can see that the room will be hot and the other cold, also hover over the room tile or unit you will see the temperature in the room, another thing I checked was putting 1 colonist in a hot room, and 1 in a cold room. Both complained of being hot and the other cold. So I'm not sure why it isn't working for you, sorry.

Nice idea, grats on the first mod

Heater does not seem to work
5tratz  [author] 8 Aug @ 6:39am
@ましろ you mean like a combo unit? could have a look into it, thanks for the suggestion.
ましろ 7 Aug @ 4:17am
Just a suggestion: maybe you could add a combination cooler/heater, perhaps inspired by the Temperature Control Unit mod.
NeinDao 7 Aug @ 1:53am
awesome. gonna try this now :3
