The vanilla hood was always weirdly bulky to me. I like this design
rain5632 24 Sep @ 6:00pm
Producer, can you update the resolution? The resolution is too low
Pamparampampamparam 17 Sep @ 8:56am
This seems to replace the Prestige Robe as well, was that intentional? I'm not a fan of it making it look identical to the base robe, but if you added something like a gold border and more ornate clasp to it that would be cool. Tho I'd prefer you kept the 'full cape' look of the Prestige Robe to contrast more heavily with the regular one. Maybe give the collar an ermine texture or something...

@Redstark: This mod supports the thin body type. If it's not working, it's likely a mod conflict.

@LuhChillMann: The large cape and prestige cape is from another mod. It's not vanilla, and my mod does not touch it. If you want to change this, you'll have to do what another commenter did below and copy/rename the files to replace the textures in Layers: Capes and Clothing

Awesome mod , thanks
Redstark Magnusson 14 Sep @ 12:53pm
Shame they don't seem to have texture for the Thin body type. All textures are white (unmasked?) and using the Vanilla textures. Still pretty good looking for the ones it does work for.
LuhChillMann 13 Sep @ 6:12pm
I've tried every combination of load order and I still haven't been able to get the large and Prestige cape to apply the correct texture over the Cataphract or Marine armor, and im not itching to go in and edit my files, so a solution would be greatly appriciated.
Mentyy 12 Sep @ 9:41am
This mod is amazing, I'm afraid I can never go back to those vanilla textures. No more towel on head
Phanlix 2 Sep @ 2:52pm
I was able to apply the textures from this to Layers: Capes and cloaks with their Large and Prestige cloaks simply by copying the texture files from this, renaming them using the naming convention of the other cloaks, then pasting the new files over the Layers: Capes and cloaks files. Worked like a charm. Now I have good textures for everything!
REDIC 30 Aug @ 12:04am
Yes yes!!!
Lee 26 Aug @ 8:38pm
Jedi Approved :)
Darius Wolfe 20 Aug @ 7:01am
@handsomegrape The modder lists that one as compatible, though with a caveat. But yes; my suggested edit below was more of an example than a comprehensive list. I use the two I mentioned, but don't use the Layers one (though I may eventually; I've been getting pickier about cosmetics lately)
Phanlix 19 Aug @ 7:45pm
Any chance at all you'll retexture the Layers: Capes and cloaks, cloaks as well? I tried the bandolier over everything but the clipping was bad... I'd love to see your cloaks on the bigger armors, your cloaks are hands down way better, and I've always thought it was dumb that capes couldn't be worn on armor. If you did retexture those cloaks all would be right and good with the world!
KatsuDon 19 Aug @ 12:56pm
@eighmy_lupin Thank you!
eighmy_lupin 18 Aug @ 1:14pm
Needs to lad after Vanilla Textures Expanded
KatsuDon 17 Aug @ 11:36am
Hello! Is it at possible to create a guide to add new caps from other mods? I noticed the Chitin material from Alpha animals isn't recognize and I would like to add that as a compatibility. Thanks!
Starempire42 16 Aug @ 6:16pm
Good to hear, then rimsort will know where it is supposed to go :D
Stokes52  [author] 15 Aug @ 2:47pm
I'll try to add some rules this weekend. The comments are helpful since I don't know what mods are incompatible until people bring it up.
Andromeda 15 Aug @ 8:29am
@Stokes52 hmm, please make a rule in about.xml so that this does not happen again
Stokes52  [author] 15 Aug @ 7:43am
@Andromeda:

Load this mod AFTER capes and cloaks. It should work fine. I was using Capes and Cloaks for a good while with this mod without issues.
Andromeda 15 Aug @ 7:34am
looks cool! but it's ironic that it doesn't work with Layers: Capes and Clothing mod. it seems to conflict with something. In some places vanilla versions of cloaks appear, in some places they are shifted somewhere, and in other places cloaks lose their color and are always white. This is very strange. There are no errors in the logs. Maybe this can't be added to the midgame?
JollyGreenJack 14 Aug @ 4:37pm
very cool!! love this kinda look. huge improvement over the Head Flap Hoods and Long Pauldron Capes.
handsomegrape 14 Aug @ 3:35am
@Darius Wolfe To add to that, it needs to also be loaded after Layers: Capes and Armor. In fact it might even be incompatible with that one now that I think about it.
lexcpa324 13 Aug @ 3:01pm
THANK YOU. FINALLY. I dont know why so many people who remodel vanilla clothing stop at the shirts and pants, flak armor, and the insulating clothing. THERE'S LIKE NO OTHER MODS that actually remodel stuff like this.
I mean, the royal apparel, the spacer tech armor, and some of the ideological clothing look fine, sure, but some have been BEGGING for a remodel.
Also the remodel this mod does is great
Darius Wolfe 13 Aug @ 2:44pm
A tweak to consider to make your mod load behind a few other mods automatically is to add this to the About.xml

If there are other common ones, you'll need to add those individually to the list, but these are the only two I'm using that fight with this mod for precedence on capes/hoods.

<loadAfter>
<li>airetexture.core</li>
<li>VanillaExpanded.VTEXE</li>
</loadAfter>

This in the About.xml allows the in-game sort and tools like RimSort to put it in the right place in the list.
Nar 13 Aug @ 5:40am
this mod perpect for my medieval world rimworld. thank you guy
Makeithappen 12 Aug @ 5:54pm
these look great. is the last image of your eltex cape design or VE?
handsomegrape 12 Aug @ 2:31pm
@Stokes52 I've finally gotten around to trying this mod in 1.5. Not noticing any errors, everything seems to work except for the cape for the female body type for some reason. Also it would be nice if the Royalty version's eltex capes also used that texture.
Spinel 12 Aug @ 11:23am
@Stokes52 Many thanks for kindly considering this request — it means a lot to me.
Stokes52  [author] 12 Aug @ 10:14am
I see. It's definitely possible, I'd have to find some inspiration for a mask style that I like that also fits the minimalist RimWorld style.
Spinel 12 Aug @ 9:14am
@Stokes52 Hmm… what I actually meant was not wearing the hood and face mask together, but rather, if possible, creating a retexture for the face mask to match your beautifully retextured hood.
It seems there are very few mods that retexture the appearance of vanilla masks.
Stokes52  [author] 12 Aug @ 8:30am
@Spinel if you're talking about the visage mask, it normally takes the same head slot as the hood, so that would require layer edits.

I don't want to introduce any layer or item changes with this mod. I'm keeping it a simple retexture, for maximum compatibility with whatever mod lists people are running.

This retexture should be compatible with a mod like Layers: Capes and Hoods, if you want to wear a mask with a hood though.

If you don't want to use that mod, I can show you how to tweak apparel layers. It's just a few text edits.
Spinel 12 Aug @ 8:06am
Thank you so much — your retexture mod is absolutely fantastic.
If it’s not too much to ask, would it be possible to also retexture the masks from the Ideology DLC so that they can be worn together with the hood?
Stokes52  [author] 12 Aug @ 6:56am
@illwood I would just go in and delete the cape textures, copy the rest of the mod into your local mods folder, then unsubscribe so it doesn't auto update. Then reactivate the local version in your mod manager.
Valkyrie 12 Aug @ 5:32am
Illwood you could probably use the cherry picker mod to disable the cape re-texture.
wood goblin 12 Aug @ 5:02am
nice
Illwood's Ramen & Supplies 12 Aug @ 12:44am
Would it be possible to have a version of this that just changes the hood texture? I quite like the default cape look but HATE the hoods
臭袜子香味 11 Aug @ 8:26pm
Fenc 11 Aug @ 8:20pm
normal caps should have a silver clip and prestige capes should have the gold clip (as it is now)
niko.k.sam 11 Aug @ 12:24pm
If the mod is not working for you, it's probably because of a mod conflict with another mod that overwrites the same texture.
To make it work you have to put it below the other mod so it "wins" the conflict.
Renzor 11 Aug @ 8:24am
oh way better. i hated the OG capes they never looked good to me
Elijah 11 Aug @ 5:18am
I love this mod. Thank you
ATotalParadox 11 Aug @ 1:27am
I think that's because this mod "has no dependencies". So there is nothing to flag to put it after. It would be neat to learning something else controlled that.
Starempire42 10 Aug @ 10:32pm
Any chance (I have no clue myself) to give the load order stuff to the rimsort mod manager?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, just would help for those using said manager

The link to said manager if you want to read it all: https://github.com/RimSort/RimSort?tab=readme-ov-file
Clem Fandango 10 Aug @ 3:20pm
Load after Gerrymon's Upscaled Vanilla Textures.
Adambaked 10 Aug @ 3:11pm
why isnt the mod working? no matter the load order(trust me, ive tried for so long to see if putting it before or after certain mods would help, it didnt) it just doesnt seem to work for me
빠밤 10 Aug @ 12:57pm
I'm using version 1.6 and I've subscribed
- Vanilla Psycast Expanded
빠밤 10 Aug @ 12:54pm
I really love this mod. But why isn’t it working?
Is there a required subscription or another mod I need in order to use this one?
Valtremors 10 Aug @ 12:25pm
Damn this should be vanilla.
