@ooo Thank you for bringing that to my attention. The unlock requirements for the Bronze spear have been corrected.

Bronze spear requires level 12 technology unlock, so this spear cannot be used

Feel free to try it out. But, please read the description to understand how it affects any arrows you have in storage or inventory beforehand.

Hi @lab_secjadas In the link below, there's a spreadsheet showing the durability and damage stats for all weapon tiers in Bellwright. We can see how the stone spear compares to these weapons. The stone spear has durability set at 150 (meaning 150 uses before broken). This is similar to lower end weapons (like the Rondel with 160 durability) within weapon tier 1. The advantage of a wooden or stone tipped spear are: Availability of resources for crafting in the early game, both wooden and stone spears are longer and faster than the simple axe or primitive club. I'm working on making these spears throw-able projectiles, which deal some serious damage. And of course, the ability to retrieve them from the ground afterwards will make spears a useful early ranged weapon. Overall, the intent is to keep durability and damage in balance with other weapons in the same tier. But, I'm open to suggestions if the community feels they need to be adjusted one way or the other.

I used your mod when you removed the arrows, i noticed that the stone spear have very low durability compared to other weapon in the same tier. is this by design or something over looked?

@Bruenor Oui, ce bug sera corrigé lors de la prochaine mise à jour : la lance en bois et la lance en pierre sont de niveau 1. La lance en bronze et la lance en fer sont de niveau 2. Il y aura également une lance en acier de niveau 3. j'aime beaucoup l'ajout de la lance mais je ne sais pas sis c'est un bug mais je peut l'avoir T1 hors elle as la puissance d'arme T3 ca déséquilibre tout le jeux

@Cihiu Thank you for the feedback. I'll look into the bronze spear sound effects.. I also noticed that the combat mechanics implemented to make the spear always thrust don't seem to apply if the player is using a shield. So, I'll have to correct that on the next update too.

@ooo Adding longer spears is possible, but to have a true Macedonian phalanx formation, it would require adding character stances and animations, then adjusting the combat mechanics and logic to handle things like: How long reach spear combat versus close quarters combat. I imagine this would be similar to how the logic changes for bandit archers, where they use a bow and arrows when you are far away, but switch to their one-handed weapon when you get closer to them. And we'd also need to somehow get villagers to fall into formation when called to arms. So maybe we just start with a longer spear.

seems there are conflicts with Pacifiist's fortification mod, right now seems doesnt affect gameplay
will there be a compatibility patch?

@lab_secjadas We'll have bronze and Iron spears released later today. Still working though the disassembly functionality. So, that will be in a later update. And about 85% complete implementing the ability to retrieve arrows off the ground after being fired. This is a first step in implementing the ability to throw and recover weapons like a spear or javelin.

My villagers prefer the stone spear over short swords and wearing only village clothing they meet raids head on. Great work and looking forward to new tips and tool deconstruction.

Im waatching this like a hawk ! .... Awesome mod I havent tried it yet I will once I see better versions of the spear . I started a new map with minimal mods and this would be one of them .

@4ITER_DOCTOR Спасибо, это хорошие предложения. Постараюсь реализовать некоторые из них, если смогу. В игре уже есть несколько вариантов булав, например, ребристая и шипастая. Можно добавить новые, более прочные щиты с шипами или римские щиты. В оригинальной игре пока только три щита. Трезубец и двуручное копье должны быть довольно простыми в добавлении. Арбалеты потребуют доработки, так как это потребует дополнительных анимаций прицеливания и стрельбы. Можно добавить доспехи с шипами, но это в основном вопрос 3D-моделирования.

@Lt.Ascott Yes I would like to add throwing capabilities if possible within the limitations of the ModKit. The ability to upgrade the spear with a sharpened stone blade has been added. This increases the spear's cutting and piercing damage and a little more durability. I will add metal alloy upgrades and the ability to deconstruct these items to recover and re-purpose materials.

Are you considering adding ranged weapons? (Sling/crossbow/throwing axe/throwing knives)
Higher tier variants of the spear (copper/bronze/iron/steel) with scaling damage would be awesome too, as well as the ability to throw the spear.
