this mod does not work with Choose Biome Commonality is there any way to fix it also something weird happens with alpha biomes where gallatros graveyards are just everywhere

I found the issue. I seem to be having a PC-wide problem where some documents will randomly be unable to be saved or deleted, with an error popping up telling me that it's currently being used by another program, even when all active programs are closed. The Faction Control mod settings weren't showing up because my ModsConfig.xml was affected by this issue, causing the game to not register the mod ever being installed. I got rid of the file by cutting and pasting it to the desktop, which works for some reason. The game auto-generated a new one, and the Faction Control settings show up now.

Thanks for the help. I had actually forgotten to download the Additional Databases, and set "Use dependency rules for sorting", so I'm thankful for your advice

Rimsort is a bit complicated at first ^^ you need to download Databases in "File > Databases" and activate them, only then Rimsort sorts mods cause it's an offline program. And by far not all mods are in these Databases aswell, when there are conflicts, you have to sort them out yourself and create custom rules oftenly.

In my game i have the faction control options, Options > Mod Option > Faction Control ... maybe you have to be in the Main Menu only for it =)

In my load order Faction Control is right below Odyssey, Realistic Planets is far further down, so Faction Control must be right after the DLC, Harmony must be even before the DLC`s =)

I am using RimSort, and the Faction Control config isn't showing up in the mod options screen, so idk whats going on, plus RimSort doesn't seem to correctly sort or even properly save mod list changes half the time.

You mean density/placement settings etc for Factions by Faction Control? These are for years not accessible by the planet anymore ^^ you have to change them in the mod settings.

If you don't have the "Edit Factions" (those that will be placed on the planet) then it's maybe a load order bug :D use RimSort to sort your mods as example

I'm not seeing the button to modify the Faction Control settings on the "Edit Planet" screen.

(continued) The faction placement/grouping system has had some work done (mostly trimming down), and can now be disabled entirely to avoid breaking compatibility with faction mods. Eventually, I might do another upgrade or module that focuses on faction placement and road generation ("Realistic Settlements" perhaps). Also, I still want to work on improving performance (even post-release), as the new systems add quite a bit of complexity to world generation, and worldgen can sometimes take a fair bit longer.

I'm hoping I can get all the remaining code done this wekeend, and then do some testing before pushing the update out to all of you.

Progress report: It's been a LOT harder than I thought it would be, but I have almost completed the Scientific Overhaul. I've redone the temperature system, put in a completely new rainfall/climate system, elevation now affects hilliness and swampiness (and more), new lake/river systems (hydrology), reworked biome placement, squashed numerous bugs, and more. It really spiralled out of control...

nah, unfortunately 4 sliders are just broken and don't have any effect :/ even if you generate a world for the first time > overall rainfall, axial tilt, caves and mountains.

I use(d) this mod for more than 5 years now, as example if you put "Overall Rainfall" to the lowest setting, there would be 90%+ desert on the planet :D or with the lowest setting of "Axial Tilt" there would basically be no seasons anymore ... those sliders have no effect anymore atm unfortunately :/

@Clairelenia i think the world creation is wonky when you go back and forth.It might not apply all changes after the initial generation, it seems. On the first gen after a game start (just menu doesn't suffice) it works for me, though.

Heyo =) i just waned to let you know that it seems "Axial Tilt"-Settings have no effect anymore. The Temperature of the map stays the same as default, even if you change the sliders to any maximum. I hope this helps! Thank you for your work and effort to keep the mod up, one of my favorite mods of all time :D <3

I don't understand why, but in 1.5 I set the cold world to tundra, and the map appeared with thin ice but with plants. Now, no grass or trees appear with these environments. In 1.6, I don't know what changed.

To anyone getting the "Could not find class Planets_Code.Settings" error, just open the Realistic Planets mod settings, change a setting, and then change it back. A lot of stuff was renamed/reorganized internally in the last update, and your saved settings are looking for the old name.

Save and Load feature seems to work fine, only thing I noticed is that the Faction Control button is a bit too small and the text goes over it.

Man, I had a bit of panic when trying to respond to that when it popped up in notificaitons and Steam said "This mod has been removed or was switched to private" when I clicked on the mod.

Yes, that's what I mean. But I see someone else already said it is not part of the mod, so sorry :D

It's just incredible annoying to have to re-select my factions every single start instead of the game saving my last chosen selection.

I know this will be a really dumb question, but I haven't played unmodded for years. Is the faction selection at world creation part of Realistic Planets? It would be so good if it saved the factions last selected, instead of requiring to select them again on every new map. If it's not part of this mod, please just ignore, lol.

@Legendary Oh, damn... we need to figure out which exact mod is causing the issue. It'll most likely be one that modifies the normal page loading order (New colony --> scenarios --> storytellers --> edit planet --> world). Do you know which of your mods do that, besides Worldbuilder, Prog: Scenarios, and Prog: Storytellers?
