compatibility problem whit " sky islands " mod : quests appear on the empty sky tile, and genrates a normal map

There’s a UI issue when a Gravship moves from an empty space tile to another location.
An empty background slot remains in the Colonist Bar, even though no colonists are present.
The original empty-space tile still seems to count as a settlement or world object.
Any advice, tips, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated if anyone has encountered this.

@Eliza513 This happened to me without this mod or a gravship on a regular world tile because the new flooding mechanic made the entire map unlandable, so it's a bug in the base game.

Hey, just figured I'd mention this. If you accept a quest that involves a shuttle being sent to your tile (ie: relic quests where they want you to send X number of colonists to an ancient complex), while your only colony is a gravship on an empty space tile, and your gravship doesnt have space for a shuttle to land, it can sometimes (but not always) cause an error that keeps occurring every single tick, rendering the game unplayable (1 TPS) and basically forcing you to reload your most recent save. No amount of dev mode nonsense Ive tried in order to just get the quest to disappear or whatever and stop this error from getting spammed seems to work

The space map is too small that big ship will be deleted(bug?).and there will be attack by raiders, which is not good. they airdrop to the spaceship.

Any chance of a bigger map? The default map size just barely fits my spaceship, and definitely has no room for a space station as well

Yeah. Pretty sure the issue is, if your gravship is larger in any dimension than the default space tile this mod makes, it causes an error as your ship is landing in an area where the map size physically cannot handle it, and as such giving the error about "trying to load out of bounds" causing it to just fail to load anything, deleting it.


Basically if your ship is larger than the small square this mod uses, you can't land in space anymore. This is a big problem as you can easily build a ship bigger than that with just 1 or 2 grav extenders.

Just had an issue where the game deleted my ship and colonists too. I think I know what it is, let me double check.

I wanted so badly to be able to temporarily generate larger maps when I launch into empty space, so I made a mod for it

This mod is a great idea, but the map that is generated by going into an empty space in orbit is tiny, my gravship basically takes up like 80% of the space. I hope you have some way of making an update that has bigger map sizes.

Bro my ship is gone... Dont know if I have a bug or what but my ship and all of my people are done... As soon as I jut into orbit nothing happend and then it autosaved. Now I am looking at nothing but space with no people and no ship. I dont know if I am doing somehting wrong or what.

Would it be possible to make the thruster animation keep playing to give the illusion that the ship is still flying ? anyways, this mod is very cool

Hey mod author, if you'd like maps to just be the map size set upon world generation this will do it. When Rimworld generates a map it looks for this field in the XML and resizes it to the Gravship, minimum of 100x100 size if the gravship is smaller than that.

It would be nice to have a bigger map. Running out of space buidling my spacestation as I need quite a big space for the ship and open platforms for raids to land so they dont crash into my pressuried rooms lol.

I would like to know how raids work. A lot less useful to be in empty space if it makes raids just crash into you and destroy your pressurization lol

is it possible to add a setting for map size? By default, only a 100x100 space is available for placement, which is a bit too small for building a large space station

@Benetrator its impossible for this orbit to be geostationary, its far, far, FAR too low to the ground

Earth low orbit is around 200x200km, geostationary is 35,786x35,786km

and while yes it depends on how fast the planet rotates and all but the rimworld has a 24hr day as well, and is presumably a similar size to Earth as well

either way it doesnt matter because its a videogame where magic exists lmao

*Steel does burn, but it requires a lot of heat than typical flames.

In other news, you can't have true reactionless drives, you need far more than seven hundred watts to smelt steel, farmland can't continuously provide food without regular time to naturally recover nutrients, hydroponics does not work with just electricity, guns require ammunition, magic doesn't exist, bulk steel doesn't burn, genetic differences on the level of xenotypes make two species non-interfertile, a realistic gravship would not require gravlite panels, you can't create both energy and toxic waste from nothing, and human children age twenty-four times slower than the "humans" do in the game. Maybe save your energy for games that try to be realistic.
