Sorry all I don't typically check Steam comments. I know there's an issue with CK2 and Workshop mods (especially large ones) where they sometimes don't download right. Manual download is available on the github, though without the combined all-in-one format.

I haven't had any other reports of crashing on startup. It's got to be on your end. You might try verifying the integrity of your files in steam
