No Limit for Gravship Field Extender/Thrusters

спасибо) несколько дней (10 игровых лет) проходил гравикораблём на планете повышеной жары. хотел сделать полноценную базу в небе, на грави корабле, но изза ограничения в 2000 плиток... в общем в тильте удалил мир, так как мне надо было ещё много места для рим атомик и других приятных модов

That's true, this mod will truly show its strength if grav field extenders don't need to be built within the range of the grav engine. It would be awesome if you could consider changing that. Best regards!

I don't know what the problem is, but it doesn't work for me. My ship is 106 horizontal tiles long and 62 vertical tiles wide. The ship constantly loses its tail with the main thrusters when taking off.

I have the same problem as a commentator below - any chances you can extend the gravship engine range itself perhaps?

Good question. I had to browse quite a bit of the game's code to find the answer. The answer is: No, increasing the limit of thrusters does not affect the gravship launch quality. Large thrusters provide +3% each, and small thrusters provide +1% each. That's all there is to their effect on the launch quality.

I have a question:
Launch quality says 40, one of the reasons it gives is that I have 6/128 thrusters
Is this mod going to make my launches turn out bad?

this mod does absolutely nothing for me when I have Grav Field Extender Hull, only mod in my load order that causes this issue, doesn't matter where it's loaded, even when these are the only 2 mods I have

Does that also increase the size of the ship? I heard the maximum size is 69 (nice) and I did find a mod that increases that but people say it breaks the ship quite often.

I personally only want more Field Extenders - to have like max Size of 3500 and my current blueprint / plan I have of my Galactica is 103 long.

So does this mod extend the range as well?

Technically every single mod is a "cheat" to the base game. Do what is fun to you. If you want 8 extenders, use 8. If you want 20, use 20. Just have fun! Nobody is going to judge you :)

Nothing wrong with it, other than the tooltip saying "128" instead of "8". It's just a personal thing, it feels more of a small tweak instead of a cheat that way, but it's okay, I can deal with it. It was worth asking anyway, lol. Didn't realise it was such a hassle to add a settings menu, so it's cool :steamthumbsup:

I'll still use this mod for the time being, as I feel more comfortable with 2500 tiles instead of 2000 for sure.

Also @Greb it's an XML patch so you can go into the mod folder and just change the settings to taste usually, though it'll get "fixed" whenever the mod updates something like an XML extensions version that's configurable would be nice but that's a bit more complex to set up I imagine

I don't use that one, but sure. Added a compatibility patch for those.

Unfortunately no. I intentionally decided not to make settings on this one, because I want this mod to be a lightweight XML patch. Having settings would require patching via C#. What's wrong with just stopping at 8 if you want that, while technically being unlimited?

Hey there. Is this mod configurable from the settings? I'd like to limit myself to 8 gravship components, since I feel like 2500 tiles and a perfect ring of eight of them placed around my ship would be perfect.

I know I could limit myself, but I'm terrible at that, but if I could configure the mod to just add 2 more small gravship pieces, that'd be great.

Right now those grav extenders are limited to 6.
