@Lox, they do need to have the tool equipped. The mod Simple Sidearms makes does this automatically for you though, i reccommend grabbing it too.

i have a question. i really like your mod, but do my pawns have to have the tool equiped or simply in their inventory to gain their effects? thank you.

The bonuses still work in CE but combat damage is not patched yet.

@Kroestah not sure but i'll keep an eye out to see if other people report the same but you are the first so far which makes me think it may be one of your other mods, check the console for errors.

cant do anything with them. didnt try to equip cuz they were not needed yet. and yes cant haul the to storage in any way. i did see that they were not enabled in storage after installing so i set some storage to allow/prioritize them.

@Dahaka, this is not possible without people installing an extra mod. Its on my list to see if i can support that mod (Complex Jobs it's called) so people who want the split work speeds can have it if they get that extra mod. In vanilla, 'Plant work speed' is one value that affects planting, sowing, tree cutting etc. so have to use your imagination a bit :)

Plant work speed needs to split to sowing and cutting, then both chainsaw and auger would be useful. Auger could be useful to make holes in ice to enable ice fishing (but that maybe to much to ask). And best butchering tools is a chainsaw? You could add something like a vibro knife or something. I worked a few days in an industrial slaughterhouse that butchers pigs, even there we used simple knives, the only power tool we used was the power saw to saw the pig in half along its spine, so maybe use that? Sorry for graphic description.

Thank you so much for this mod. I have longed for a straightforward tool mod with good art and impactful buffs for a long time. This looks absolutely GOATed

A lite version would be awesome, as mentioned before. They animations/textures and concept seems amazing but the buffs are too strong. Some suggestions for a middle ground - (or perhaps increase resource costs?)

Power Saw - +40% Cons Speed - Mood Debuff (close by pawns) (ear protector apparel for user?)
Jack Hammer +40 Minning - Same as above.
Auger +40% Sowing seed
Chain Saw - 60% Harvest/Plant Cut speed - High chemfuel usage - Loud Debuff
Electric Drill - 40% gen, 15% const, 60% mech
Chisel is really good (smoothing is just tedious)
Nailgun I'd say 40% speed.

Also some of these tools could have improving uses depending on the skill level of the pawn, or perhaps there are only minor buffs (5%) unless the pawn is above say level 10/15 which then the full buff applies.


This mod would perfectly complement other in-game buffs and other mods that give small buffs to skills.

@LordKhaosPT - thanks very much! I think the easiest thing for me to do would be to just publish a second mod with half values but ill keep looking into settings but have gotten feedback that they arent the best thing to add to a mod (from other devs)

Really cool mod - and the art is gorgeous. However, they are too OP for a masochist like myself. Anyway we can reduce their effectiveness, maybe a slider in the mod options? 80% is a huge improvement, I would be happy with 20 or 40 otherwise it might trivialize the game.

New tool sugestion: Rolling pin for cooking or a Cleaver. Not really a power tool but inline with the theme.

Great mod! Been looking for a decent tool mod for a while, but is there any way of making them compatible with pawns that are incapable of violence? I find it a bit odd that just because my Highmate crafter can't fight she also, by extension, can't use a power drill :)

Oh right, that's a cool looking mod. Like I say in the description, this mod is based on the concept of power tools from Simmin's original mod they posted in 2021.

@The Lost Cake Simmin's mod had a 'psycho' pirate raider that spawned with a chainsaw so I could do something similar to that. I also want to add a construction/breacher pawn who spawns with the power saw.

Hey all, added the nail gun, speeds up construction a bit and doubles as a ranged weapon, spraying nails at your targets! Its not as good as the power saw but is a fair bit cheaper.
