you mod is really cool but i think that smoker's poison damage is a little strong, is there any option to reduze how fast his poison reduces player's HP?

actually you were right. I just tested and checked the code myself, and it seems the bot is still able to release the cloud when he begins choking a survivor. will fix ASAP. Thank you for the report.

That is impossible. Assuming you actually wrote "DeathCloudOnly 1", it should be "DeathCloudOnly = 1" instead.

Hello @Witch,I found a bug.

When you have the option (DeathCloudOnly 1), Smoker Bot continues to use the ability to drop the cloud regardless of the option's state.

it's a bit of a long story but for the manual clouds I had to create my own screen effect.

I might soon implement settings for players to change the colors of the manual cloud's effect.
if you have a smoker cloud recolor, the manual smoke will be the modded color but the overlay will still be gray instead of the modded cloud color. The death smoke works normally tho.

If I could suggest: I think an alt of this where the smoker cloud that happens when the smoker dies would complement what youre going for, and if you would add SI melee swipes to slow survivors like how the commons do would also compliment youre stuff. I think they used to slow in L4D1 but its been so long i dont really remember

weird how the smoker just doesn't have anything about its name be relevant to its attack beyond it sounding like a heavy smoker about to lose his lungs.

The Hunter stalks its target and the multiplayer gameplay encourages picking off a survivors who are struggling with certain issues like hordes of infected or are performing tasks.
The Boomer is literally its namesake with the addition of its bile attracting zombies, but it's generally dangerous to kill a boomer or else it blows up and covers everyone in bile and stuns them for a bit.
The Tank fits every definition of what a tank means, to be strong as a tank and tough as a tank.

The only one in the original special infected list to really share this trait of a name not really coinciding with their gameplay is the Witch. Beyond being a dangerous special infected for being able to down or instant kill you, her name doesn't really paint a clear picture of what she does

So basically the Smoker was going to be a weaker "Area denial" special infected but was cut possibly because Valve wanted the specials to have only one main ability to emphasize the importance of teamwork for both teams instead of one doing all the work. This is pretty much how Valve envisioned it when they created a much more powerful "Area denial" infected with the Spitter.

Just to clarify the point: there are modifications to reduce damage under certain conditions, and there are mods (the only one so far, as far as I know), in which temporary health is subtracted primarily - without transferring to the player's health (an example of how it works: 80 HP for a character and +20 temporary HP - a zombie hit on an expert will only knock down temporary health, but with a lower value of the temporary parameter, the remaining damage will logically transfer to the character's health). Your work with smoker's smoke DOES NOT CAUSE DAMAGE so such, that's why the effect bypasses temporary health.

This is not a nitpick, just a suggestion for expanding the functionality! Suddenly, someone (like me, for example), will need to specifically configure such parameters, and for someone a simple slowdown or the presence of a side ability-active will be enough.

A question regarding the modification... Is it possible to add a parameter of periodic damage (not the mechanics of poison, but specifically damage) and adjust the interval of the smoke effect (with what frequency will the effect of poison accumulate and cause damage to the player)?
