well scratch my earlier comment, i didnt realize i had both cougars AND lynx....its the lynx that cant wear helmets apparently, didn't even notice that in the item info box. so i think thats as intended.

Just pushed a new update.

Scimitar cats and Mastodons have gotten plate armor (thanks to sprites donated by NikkiDarkMatter!)

Ran into a weird issue where i can equip animal flak armor onto my cougars, but it keeps stating the flak helmet is the wrong body type, but also states it should be equip-able by adult cougars. am i missing something? its the first time ive been using the flak armor and cougars specifically.i usually go cataphract with the big boys like thrumbos or elephants.

Failed to find Verse.ThingDef named AlphaThrumbo. There are 29422 defs of this type loaded.
Looks like your update is throwing up this error fairly constantly in the logs now. (I don't have odyssey)

Newest version includes cataphract armor for Alpha Thrumbos. Thanks to Poindexter1985 who commissioned the art and OkagrimGaming who created it!

Oh, so thrumbo can only wear cataphract armor? I thought there was a mid-range armor for them because of the mod thumbnail art. Or is that a cataphract variant?

While this is more a big request, do you have plans to try and get compatibility with some of the animals with medieval overhaul, or is it not a priority?

Unfortunately supporting more animals requires armor sprites made for them. Sadly, I am not an artist and the alpha thrumbo sprite is just too different from the normal thrumbo to make the existing thrumbo armor fit them properly

Having problems with the Animal Simple Helmet. It is craftable and equipable on the animals, but does not show up in any stockpile/storage lists as well as recycle lists. Due to recycle bills set up my pawns keep recycling them but I cannot turn them off like I can the Plate Armor. I do have a lot of mods and am playing Medieval Overhaul but I don't know what would interfere with the helmet but not the armor. I also noticed looking into the item with RIMMSqol that the helmet is marked as Industrial but the plate armor is marked medieval.

The plate armor seems to be loading wrong after the update at least on rhinos.

@Alma_S try Thrumbo Extension it makes Thrumbos pack animals as well as making them a lot more attractive to tame by allowing you to harvest wool from them.

my thrumbo, which is wearing an animal cataphract armor, is preventing my caravan from moving because the only colonist assigned to its caravan cant carry the armor. it seems like because thrumbos arent pack animal and do not increase the maximum carry capacity of a caravan, it wearing armor imbues a negative sum for caravan weight because its counted unable to carry the armor its wearing. do i need a mod that makes thrumbos pack animals to make armored thrumbos in caravans feel less janky...? i feel like its a soft requirement for this mod

RPG Style Inventory is a mod that I had to implement specific compatibility for in the past. Could be that there was an update I missed, but that is a very likely candidate

double checking the list I think the only conflicts I can guess at would be RPG Style Inventory or Simple Sidearms. I'm not sure Simple Sidearms ever controls armor tho so I don't think it's that.

I want to take armor off of one of my animals but I can't find a way to do it. There's no drop function in their gear tab and I don't get any sort of 'remove armor' option when right clicking on the animal with a colonist. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Out of curiosity, what happened to the helmet graphics? I was disappointed to find out that my Thrumbo won't get a cool-looking blade helmet anymore.
