I will update the description to reflect this information in case there are other people who have these issues

Solved - Yes, the problem is the 2.0 has "all mods disabled" set to Yes by default. So even if the game lets you download the mods, then pretends to restart to load the mods, it doesn't actually load anything. I think devs should make the whole Mods menu disabled in the game in this case, or at least make the game display "mods disabled in config" warning in the mods menu.

The catch is, even if you set "all mods disabled" to No in the configuration, the game will ignore that and the mods are still disabled, at least in my case. As some authors of other mods for 2.0 mention in their mods description, you have to manually edit the "initial_config_win.cfg" file, change the "set disable_mods" line to 0. The file can be found in "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Riftbreaker\conf" directory.

If you change the cfg file, the mods are suddenly running fine. So I suggest you should add this warning to the mod description too. Check the "radar pulse range increase 2" mods description for example.

yeah, your mod modified the same player.ent file that Expands Arsenal mod used

Can any of you try to load a game with just this mod activated and all other disabled if you havent tried yet ? :steamsad:

i try both of the mods and neither of them work for me, my version is coop beta 2.0 too (latest patch)

It shouldnt be. I just tried the mod on all available modes. SP Campaign and Survival and MP Survival and Campaign. It works on all of them. So the issue lies somewhere else.

Im playing on the co-op open beta version of the game.
EXE : 1037 DATA : 649.
Ill ask around in discord in case somebody has an idea why it doesnt work.

Update : Ive been testing it on different version of the game and ive been testing the old ones on the new version. It crashes or loads the game, but the mod glitches. Though the slots are there, unuseable, but there. Makes me wonder... Are your mods turned on ? I know its stupid but in the newer version of thegame they are turned off by default until you turn them on via launch configuration or file configuration so you dont have to turn it on manually every time you launch the game.

You said you did test it again on co-op with 2 other people. I play on 2.0, but I play solo. Could that be the problem? Couldn't the co-op UI be separated because it has some elements that aren't needed in solo? Maybe it is total nonsense, it is just a random idea...

...well, I just tried to start a multiplayer game (survival) and the game still ignores the mod, and I have only 4 slots in co-op too. So this isn't the problem either.

I am aware this may cause problems, so I choose the mods carefully. I had only three mods there besides this one and they were all from before 2.0, thus marked as incompatible. My expectation was incompatible = not loaded, inactive, I just kept them there to remember what mods I have used and to be able to check whether they were updated in future. In case incompatible mods can still somehow influence other mods, I just removed them all and kept only this +8 slots mod. But I still have only 4 slots. So other mods are not the problem.

I did test it again on co-op with 2 other people. Theirs work as well. So chances are you use other mods that edit Inventory or Player files or both. Something like stronger mechs, more weapons, something that edits the the mech or the inventory screen.

If 2 mods edit the same file/s one of the mods will not load. Probably based on placement in mod list.

I already tried it and the +14 doesn't work for me either... Maybe I am doing something wrong, but this way of mod integration seems quite foolproof. I download the mod from games mod menu, the game restarts, and then it should be active? Or am I missing something? The mod is shown in the first table and it is as "up to date", so I don't know what more I can do to enable it.

That's interesting. It did work on my side durig multiplayer on the co-op branch.

I also made a +14. If both of you try it and it doesnt work for you then there might be a different issue that i need to check.

On of my favourite mod type, but this one doesn't seem to work... still only four slots...
