ModularConsoleMod

Would be nice to have option or directly panel with integrated slot for IC10 chip and maybe some assign variable in editor to directly assign vars to modules on panel instead of using screws, screws would be used for external devices on network without including internal devices in screws.

I was just realizing there were two authors. Sorry Tom! Thanks to both of you!
WIKUS  [author] 27 Oct @ 5:06am
We have to thank Tom for making this possible. Thanks Tom :Khappy:
He developed the all the grid snapping and network connection code.
Noted for the next polishing pass :mern:
cjb 27 Oct @ 4:48am
These are absolutely amazing WIKUS, thanks! It's not often I wish a mod were part of vanilla, but these fall into that category for me.

If I had one teeny, tiny wish list, it would be that the needles on the dials were more visible, maybe white or maybe they're illuminated with the selected color.
WIKUS  [author] 26 Oct @ 9:09am
Fixed what? The mod works fine.
TheWorkingMan43 24 Oct @ 4:50pm
fixed?
Fevix 24 Oct @ 10:57am
Ah, figured it out - Need tier 2 printer, not tier 1.
Fevix 24 Oct @ 10:48am
SLP is installed correctly, I do get the notification bar. What's the kit called?
WIKUS  [author] 24 Oct @ 6:00am
That would be the electronics printer.
If it still won't show you wanna confirm that SLP is installed correctly.
You should have that black info/config box at the bottom of your loading screen if it is installed.
Fevix 24 Oct @ 12:13am
I can't seem to find these ingame - Which printer do they come out of?
WIKUS  [author] 23 Oct @ 11:10pm
This has been the reason we did not include IC and logic components into this mod really.
Breadboards have been on many wishlists for a quite some time... ours included.

Tom's LibConstruct kinda came to be for that kind of mod. However we ended up joining forces for these consoles instead.

Good news is, the RW devs stated on Reddit that breadboards have been discussed a lot within the Team... I think there is a great chance that this will be a thing in the future one way or another.
Electrocutor 22 Oct @ 9:27am
I don't suppose I could convince you to create a variant of this to act as a logic circuit breadboard with the ability to place tons of chips and wires in a small area?
WIKUS  [author] 21 Oct @ 3:13pm
@Grendel We wanna add more devices over time. Currently we are adding a bunch of new consoles. There are some sneak peeks on the modding discord.
@Hmuda at first we weren't sure if we wanna add IC housing... there were some other ideas floating around but by now those are back on the table.
Hmuda 21 Oct @ 7:58am
I decided to add these for my YT series, and cannot wait to start implementing them.

I'll also add my voice to the others who asked for integrated IC housings. A small plastic cover could hide them, like the ones on the computers that slot the motherboards. Obviously not all the panels should have them, but if there's room, I don't see why this couldn't work. I would even settle for higher printing costs to represent the increased functionality.
Hawk 19 Oct @ 1:40am
This mod is absolutely fantastic. Must have for aesthetic control stations
Grendel 16 Oct @ 8:17pm
The is an AMAZING mod!
Any chance you could add a Medium Lever to the mix?
Some uses feel bigger than a small switch but don't require the pomp and circumstances of the "BIG LEVER" Having a regular lever about the size as the "Logic Throttle" bit with a simple On/Off function would be nice
rambalac 16 Oct @ 10:00am
Fixed!
tom_is_unlucky  [author] 16 Oct @ 8:06am
@rambalac try unsubscribing and resubscribing with the game closed. i think you got a corrupted download since some of the files were in use
rambalac 16 Oct @ 7:46am
It seems there was also new Storm update installed
rambalac 16 Oct @ 7:43am
It didn't update on itself, so I had to unsubscribe and subscribe again while in the main menu and restart the game. Now all components I printed before have names like N:En:ItemKitModularConsole... and Electronic printer has no modular consoles. All existing consoles work properly and colors are fixed.
rambalac 16 Oct @ 5:20am
Thank you!
tom_is_unlucky  [author] 14 Oct @ 1:50pm
@rambalac this should be fixed in v0.2.19
tom_is_unlucky  [author] 14 Oct @ 9:51am
The power issue was due to the On logic value on the console base being set to 0. We're going to add a tooltip indicator when it is off so you will be able to tell
WIKUS  [author] 13 Oct @ 12:15pm
@rambalac Thanks that's on me... working on a fix
@Sgt_Salty How long are you having this issue. I am unable to reproduce this.
Sgt_Salty 13 Oct @ 11:48am
v0.2.18 still all consoles unpowered. also updated libconstruct to v0.2.6
rambalac 13 Oct @ 3:01am
All utility buttons painted red became green. Repainting them says they are already red.
tom_is_unlucky  [author] 12 Oct @ 11:08am
v0.2.18 is out with the fix for the board power issues in multiplayer as well as a new alarm device and diagram lines courtesy of WIKUS. Make sure LibConstruct is also updated to v0.2.6
Mister Jay - Dk 12 Oct @ 7:07am
@tom_is_unlucky yeah, found that now too. Just me not paying attention to the texts XD
tom_is_unlucky  [author] 12 Oct @ 7:02am
@Mister Jay you should be able to see the devices on the data network (selectable on the IC10 pins) as long as you have the data port of a console connected to the same cable network. The console piece itself will still show up even if you only have the power port connected
tom_is_unlucky  [author] 11 Oct @ 8:43pm
@NaN not currently. they are modeled after the vanilla devices that perform the same function, so the lights all have a manual on-off. we can add support for the Lock logic type on them at some point so you can disable the manual interaction like others
tom_is_unlucky  [author] 11 Oct @ 8:32pm
@TheWorkingMan43 the power state issue is just a visual bug on clients. i have it tracked down and will have a fix released tomorrow. or are you hitting a different issue?
NaN 11 Oct @ 5:47pm
Am I missing something or are there no basic indicator lights, with just a On/Off and Color setting? I'm using diodes for now, but it bugs me a bit that I can just manually turn them off, so my IC10 code needs to turn them on every loop.
TheWorkingMan43 11 Oct @ 5:20pm
broken. dang
tom_is_unlucky  [author] 11 Oct @ 6:15am
@Drew @Billybobbubba @Titan looks like something broke with the structure networking recently. I'll try to figure this one out today. Could one of you send me a save file on discord that's experiencing the issue?
Billybobbubba 10 Oct @ 9:31pm
additional, same panel from previous, and additional panel with same base setup. on connecting to server, all the modular consoles are unpowered. can still interact with switches through code, so data is working. have to either pick up and replace power cable, or powercycle apc. was hoping i could use ic10 to set On, but all properties are read only. second console is a switchbank with lots of flip switches. 2 of the switches are not rendering on clients. cannot deconstruct, cannot place anything else there(shows occupied by flip switch) clients restarted, same effect. server will restart over night and will check if same behavior exists
Titan 10 Oct @ 8:03pm
Can't seem to get anything to work. (Granted I know it has to be due to me overlooking something) I have Console base 3 with Console flat 3 on top, powered up but none of the things I put onto the panel are working. It's like they are not getting power
Billybobbubba 10 Oct @ 9:07am
Installed on our server yesterday and love it, did find 1 bug and 1 design improvement. Bug: placed a console 1(that fits a computer)data and power connected, no objects added to it, and then a flat panel attached to the top(the one that fits computer). The computer would not power on. Attached a small flat panel to side of computer panel and it then recognized the connection. Small panel removed and connection still works

Design: guarded switch when closed should turn off the switch
Drew 9 Oct @ 12:01pm
Hey none of the lights on the console seem to be functioning? Not sure if a bug or not
WIKUS  [author] 8 Oct @ 1:36pm
Hey! That’s actually a solid idea... modes and range presets could definitely make gauges more versatile and user-friendly. For now we’re keeping things simple with the proportional gauge and the more flexible meter.

Part of the discussion with these devices is always how to encourage players to handle scaling, conversions, etc. through logic.
Dragon Fire 813 7 Oct @ 11:57am
Or separate gauges instead of modes.
Dragon Fire 813 7 Oct @ 11:42am
Any thoughts on adding modes to the gauges to make things easier to code and visualize? Like mode 0 would be the 0 to 1 it already is, mode 1 would be temperature gauge setup, mode 2 would be pressure, mode 3 would be volume, etc. Also to set ranges for the gauge markings to display (like -20 to 50 or 0 to 60) with threshold settings to make different sections of the gauge be different colors.
silent1 5 Oct @ 7:17pm
How is there not more media on this? I thought I'd find some sweet builds on youtube...
What an amazing mod.
WIKUS  [author] 1 Oct @ 2:30pm
BoNes 1 Oct @ 7:36am
No problem
WIKUS  [author] 1 Oct @ 5:23am
Thanks BoNes... that bug is on me :KOh:
Solra Bizna 1 Oct @ 12:24am
This is my favorite thing on the planet.
BoNes 30 Sep @ 11:36pm
One minor bug I have noticed: The Access Key slot doesn't save its Mode data. EG: I have an IC that sets the Mode (to anything other than 0) when it starts up, then it goes into a loop. Once it's in the loop, if I save & reload, the Access Key slot defaults back to Mode 0.

I'm not sure about other components, I was setting up a fancy custom airlock using the Access Key slot for the exterior door and noticed that it wasn't saving the data.
Sana 30 Sep @ 3:15pm
Are the large 3x3 consoles shown in the gif a thing in this mod or is that from something else? All I can find are the 1x1 console displays.
WIKUS  [author] 30 Sep @ 11:03am
Yep there is a new flat terminal coming next update.
BoNes 28 Sep @ 12:56pm
Feature Request: You have the wall mounted console, could you add a thinner version (for mounting on floors) so you can walk over it smoother (to reduce step-up/step-down bounce).
