Wear Anything With Anything

Oh also, the devs patched in the old body locations prior to 42.12. Which has fixed many issues for those curious or had problems. This is working again.

So far this has worked with just about everything. Including bags!

I did however find that I cannot wear surgical masks with balaclavas. Doing so takes off the balaclava.
silkyworman 7 Oct @ 11:58pm
Does this allow vests with coveralls?
Necrosx 6 Oct @ 7:39am
I would like to request a version for b41 as well. This mod is absolutely amazing, and solves so many issues, but b42 doesnt have multiplayer yet.
Completely understand if you dont want to support both versions, but thought I would chime in my interest as I didnt see you say one way or the other as of yet.
Thanks ahead of time.

@Nepenthe Thanks for the explanation! :) It will help a lot

@Cyrisa A lot of the changes are long overdue, and clean up some of the horrible jank in the codebase. The general approach to itemization changes at the object level is very exciting, and is something I am surprised but very happy to see.

But short term, it will be painful as mods break or the hacks we relied on to make things work are altered.
Cyrisa 27 Sep @ 2:22am
with the amount of mods effectively by this latest update. it sure looks like they are trying to nerf mods than actually benefit the game. truly needless changes or changing : to = to brick things.
Nepenthe  [author] 27 Sep @ 1:19am
@trick it would would be a hassle to make different mod versions for each specific slot, or lot of extra work to make a UI to let the user choose which clots should be affected... but for a quick & easy fix open ProjectZomboid\media\lua\shared\NPCs\BodyLocations.lua and comment out the group:setExclusive() lines you want to disable. (Note you'll need to redo this each game update)
Nepenthe  [author] 27 Sep @ 1:16am
I'll need to hunt through the new way of doing things to find out how to access the "we never thought anyone would want to access this so we hid it away deep in the java" array that holds the exceptions.
Cyrisa 26 Sep @ 2:00pm
This may need to be updated due to the new body locations in 42.12 which has broken most mods. (devs mega failed)

Hi! I really love your mod — thank you so much for sharing such great work. I was just wondering if it might be possible to make a version where only glasses can be worn with everything. I usually play with the short-sighted trait, but in vanilla you can’t wear masks with glasses. Your full version works, but it feels a bit unbalanced compared to the pure vanilla game, since I can stack too many clothing layers, and zombies end up wearing strange combinations too. A glasses-only version would already help a lot! Either way, thanks again for the awesome mod!
urs 19 Aug @ 5:53am
it would be cool if this worked for b41 as well
UsatoAsashi 18 Aug @ 6:54am
fullsuit with mask pls
Plannard 29 Jul @ 5:08am
can u make it for b41 too? if it would work with britas armor pack it would be perfect. thanks!
Raid: Shadow Legends 28 Jul @ 10:25am
Able to wear a full shemagh under my military helmet. Perfection.
Nepenthe  [author] 20 Jul @ 1:43am
@inverspe you can use a rifle sling mod for that.
Inverspe 19 Jul @ 9:30pm
hey is it possible for you to make a mod that makes you able to have two backpack slots for your guns instead of only one

Hello Nepenthe, sorry to bother you with this, but you have supress your Dedicated Balaclava Slot from the Workshop, is this mod will be back or do we just have to use this Wear Anything With Anything mod instead ? Anyway your mods are just great thank you so much !
Nepenthe  [author] 1 Jul @ 6:39am
@Albert those were not my mods.
Albert 1 Jul @ 4:07am
also, why do you removed "Shoulder slot mod" and "Watch slot mod" from workshop?
Oladushkin54 1 Jul @ 2:23am
Hilarios or это просто уморительно
raxxian 28 Jun @ 2:48pm
mb i meant B41
Nepenthe  [author] 27 Jun @ 7:11pm
This mod only works for B42.
TDC 27 Jun @ 4:43pm
doesnt this mod already work for B42??
raxxian 27 Jun @ 3:05pm
anyone knows about a similar mod like this for B42??
Jabol 26 Jun @ 12:51pm
does this works with welding mask then wear gas mask at the same time?
Kar33a 26 Jun @ 7:42am
any chance b41 pls
SIMBAproduz 25 Jun @ 8:07pm
the fact that you still restrict one item per body region is what makes this mod perfect. Thanks for that friend
Nepenthe  [author] 25 Jun @ 7:24pm
@TDC you can get rather unrealistic with it, but you're correct people would be doing anything they can to increase survival odds.

I've worn track pants under jeans and two pairs of socks on a cold day, and that wasn't even life-threatening cold.
TDC 25 Jun @ 3:22pm
This is actually very realistic as there are definitely preppers out there that would wear several layers of clothes as makeshift "armor"
captainloafers 25 Jun @ 5:25am
My shortsighted character is delighted to have this working!
Holy Mokey 25 Jun @ 2:52am
@Nepenthe Works now, thank you very much. I really appreciate your work.

Version 1.0.3 updated. For anyone having issues, please unsubscribe & resubscribe to force steam to update to the latest version.

Explanation of the issue: when testing I made sure to test without any other mods installed, especially the Starlit library to ensure I wasn't relying on the field access methods it provided. However I made some later changes and didn't retest properly, meaning that the version uploaded to steam was dependent on Starlit in a non-obvious way. This is why some people had no issues (because they had Starlit active already) while others received errors.

Version 1.0.3 of the mod exposes the needed fields of the BodyLocation class without needing Starlit installed, which will fix this issues for everyone.
Nepenthe  [author] 24 Jun @ 5:38pm
I think I've located the issue affecting some people; if I'm correct I'll have a fix out later today.
Holy Mokey 24 Jun @ 11:40am
@captainloafers @Nepenthe same it just shows me error
Kable 23 Jun @ 10:52pm
Multiple Backpacks? Or Satchels, Camelpaks and sleeping bags?
captainloafers 23 Jun @ 1:39pm
just grabbed this mod and its not working for me either. I am using no other body or clothing mods. I can try other stuff if it helps. This was added to an existing save in b42.
jooksdrip 23 Jun @ 2:11am
yeah, i reinstalled game, deleted zomboid folder in C:/Users
the mod still throws me error and doesnt work
most interesting thing is that this mod worked 3 days ago, but all of a sudden this mod stops working completly
Nepenthe  [author] 22 Jun @ 7:35pm
@Richard B42 only.
Commander Liberty 22 Jun @ 4:29pm
What version is this for? B41, or B42? :spiffo:
jooksdrip 22 Jun @ 8:44am
@Nepenthe tried latest update, the mod still throws same exact error
function: disable_addexclusion.lua -- file: disable_addexclusion.lua line # 16 | MOD: Nepenthe's Wear anything With Anything

ERROR: General f:0, t:1750606519743> ExceptionLogger.logException> Exception thrown

Nepenthe  [author] 22 Jun @ 7:38am
I've pushed an update that adds some extra logging and will abort processing if the BodyLocations.getGroup("Human") returns nil.

This won't fix problems, but will prevent the mod throwing errors if the BodyGroups data is broken. If the mod seems to do nothing check console.txt for "WAWA:" and see if it printed an error instead of a message about exclusions being removed.
Taddy 22 Jun @ 3:35am
Thx for your great mods.
Sadly I can't get it to work. Im getting the same error as swwkbone.
jooksdrip 22 Jun @ 2:08am
@Nepenthe can you send your message again, i saw notification but i don't see it here
jooksdrip 22 Jun @ 12:27am
@Nepenthe with just this mod installed, fresh install, verifed all files and deleted zomboid folder in c:users
SDgamer 22 Jun @ 12:02am
@Nepenthe I just tested the Tarp Chest Rig with Tarp Fanny pack. Both can not be worn at the same time
Nepenthe  [author] 21 Jun @ 11:13pm
@SDgamer They are different clothing slots, so yes.
SDgamer 21 Jun @ 10:03pm
Does this allow Fanny Packs to be worn with Chest Rigs?
angelic corndog 21 Jun @ 9:12pm
i love you
