Pilot costs are a bit absurd and not particularly lore friendly.

I suppose I understand the lore isn't really conducive to gameplay, as paying pilots 1000-5000 credits a month equates to just 3,000 to 15,000 for the 90 day cycle, so the inflated x2 to x4 costs of pilots currently is already pulling a lot more strain on the economy. But I'm not sure I like pilots being as incredibly expensive as this mod makes them. Could there be an option in the mod for changing pilot upkeep costs, including a vanilla level of pay?

Also a "trait blacklist" would be nice, honestly. There are some traits I just don't want to see because they're either bad, or insanely niche, given there's only 6 trait slots now, half of the vanilla traits already feel like dead weight that never come up.

Turning off non-MW5 portraits and voice packs doesn't appear to be preventing them from appearing in Hire Pilots.

Like, at all. I just had a world with six pilots to hire and all of them had non-MW5 portraits and voice packs.

Do things still break when a pilot gets over 20 skill in an attribute like they did in the 330 version?
For some reason academy training is allowing my pilots to gain skill caps beyond the base ten plus whatever quirks they have, and I have now gotten a few with caps above 20 so I'm a bit concerned.

Hey, I noticed this fix in the change notes: Fixed academies not giving skill cap increases.
So I used mod options to have 0 quirks, making all pilots capped at 60 skill points. But now when I do training, it's increasing my pilots skill levels to over 60 skill points. Is this intended behavior? Basically, I want my pilots to be forever capped at 60 skill points max.

Thank you for bringing back the health of each person on the pilot section screen before a mission. Could that same area also highlight when a pilot is in training? Would save a lot of random pecking or back-n-forth between the barracks if a lot of your crew is in training.

Out of curiosity, would it be possible to add clanner portrait's and voices? since post invasion pilots do start to appear with clan origin traits or are those just not usable?

@WordCubed Those are the voices from MechCommander and MechCommander 2. They don't show up in voice selection if you have the mod options for them disabled.

Hi, I noticed that the original Pilot Overhaul mod claims it has "an additional 56 Completely voiced pilots in-game", but whenever I edit a pilot, only 18 different voices are available to pick from. Is this a bug, or maybe a mod conflict? (I am running YAML.)

@SQW Its compatible with YAML. Technically the mod manage screen will show a "conflict," but thats simply from touching the same asset. POE has support for YAML's changes built in.

I do have the latest update (Oct 13) installed, but keep getting a fatal error crash, also crashes whenever I enter the "barracks" tab. Any suggestions?

Never found a place so far that has something else than
"Select a quirk" and increase your "quirk number" ?

@Hermatus Commander traits are not implemented yet, but will be at some point. Quirk selection depends on the XP of the pilot, so they do tend to autogain quirks whenever their slot count increases. Unfortunately this isn't easy to change. Your best option is to find a training to remove the quirk again until it rolls into one you want.

After the new version i cant select a quirk with the commander.
When i try to increase the quirk number it always autoselects a trait, before your used the increase by 1 button... timeline jump.... then it was +1 and selectable... now it autoselects.

For a while I've been looking for a mod that simply allows me to switch out Commander Mason. This mod does that but I'm not interested in the other features, I like to keep things simple. Does anyone know a mod for that?

Has been working great so far, though haven't tested academies yet.
Mostly commenting to thank you for all the hard work. This is my favorite mod by far and I hate playing without it. You're amazing for putting in the work and I am so happy this mod gets regular love and updates. Tysm <3

So everything runs ok however, all of the "Cantina" rewards say "Text Block" with zero C-Bills and no description of the message upon completion. So not sure whats going on there. I love this mod and many thanks to Jackalope85 for keeping this alive and hats off to all of his hard work.

It's all working for me now, though I've not used the training system for any pilot as Just hadn't needed to or wanted to. I could create a second save and test it. See if I can find or cause an issue.

For those using YAML, I have that installed as well. Though I tend to go more extreme when updates happen and mod updates drop. I delete my *.json that it has in the Mod folder in MW5 merc. Then force it to re-download or manually download a couple, and rerun game to add the mods. I will say This mode shows the correct mod version, however the game version is showing .62 at the end instead of the current game version, not sure that would be more than just info but who knows.

elite pilot still disappear when enter the system for me and even I got them to spawn they would not have traits they should have spawn e.g barrett didn't have any traits at all when he in the hiring hall

Hi I've been having crashes, it says it conflicts with YAML. I'd have a very hard time choosing which is more important! But I'll try again now that you've updated it. Thanks! Weeks after release of DLC7 I still can't play with the mods I like.

@Naylind could you turn on debug at the bottom of PO-E's mod options, cause the crash, then send the PilotOverhaulLog.txt file from game files/MW5Mercs/Mods to me please? Best place to share that would be either the discord or on Nexusmods.

Hi, the mod version is 8.3.2,
Sadly in my case solve nothing, the pilots in the accademy before the game patch still cause a crash, dismiss them before the training is complete prevent the crash, after that i moved into an accademy to make use of the new integration correctional program , add a bunch of pilots and if i skip time still crash.

Just pushed an update that should fix the crashes I could find. Let me know if you are still having issues after updating. Make sure the in game mod manager says version 8.3.2

I attempt to maybe fix it, I removed the mod and reinstalled it as a hope that maybe Steam never updated it. I have been getting a crash to desktop when just entering the barracks menu. No pilots have been sent for training. Just basic changing of pilots portraits and such. Which I did notice after the patch that the old Goblin portrait had come back even though I'd set it to a different one. Since then haven't been able to open my barracks window. Will update this once retest in a moment and see if uninstalling and reinstalling the mod fixed that.

Does this require the DLCs? I crash immediately as soon as I finish the 4th mission and have access to pilots. As in after I finish the mission, but before battle results show up. The only mods I have are this one and mod options.Everything default except I turned on commander traits.

@FreeGen Maybe one of your pilots finished training at an academy. Somebody mentioned that a pilot finishing training would cause a game crash.
