hey... sorry for the delay in the updates, i had to downgrade my PC and can't work in blender right now, the ranger set of armors is in the works... along side with the mexicali (from Baja), the plan is to have 2 sets of ranger armors, standart and riot armor.

and for the mexicali the will be some hats, sombreros and 2 or 3 armor sets... but i have no time-frame for the realease

Is there standalone ranger dustcoat
RIP DOOM 16 Jul @ 10:03pm
This is awesome! I had an idea a while back to convert the Reavers into Valamon's Legion, but didn't have the time to make outfits for Kenshi
MrGarunimo  12 Jul @ 12:14pm
Would you do veteran ranger armor?
Scar 27 Jun @ 11:29am
I say lean in fully on the cowboy gear, man that shit would be dope if it has like full range, imagine a leather shawl, western crossbowslingers feel like they need to be kenshi

@Lifes As for why I stopped updating this mod for a while... things are tough right now. I work as a freelance software developer, and work is pretty scarce at the moment, so I’m focused on paying my bills for now. When I can, I’ll get back to adding content to this project.

About adding more Fallout factions, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Legion, and all of the Fallout 4 factions will not be included in the final conversion (they wouldn’t fit the lore). However, their aesthetics can and will be used. I plan to create some custom game starts (like “Legion Deserter,” “BoS Recon Squad,” and similar) where I can include the armor and tech from those factions for the player to use.

Factions I do want to bring into the mod:

The Enclave

A Minutemen-like faction

The Shi (Fallout 2)

Hubologists

Children of Atom

Some Vaults

In addition to these, I’ll create a few original factions from scratch, using Fallout-style aesthetics.
Lifes Fallout 22 Jun @ 7:06pm
Thank you for the work! I'd love to see some proper BOS and Enclave outfits if you ever get around to it! Minutemen Militia outfits if you decide to branch out to 4 also!
silentmannn 22 Jun @ 3:08am
Good work!
Botaq 22 Jun @ 3:00am
i like the cowboy armor, that's really cool
DA KILLER BRYON 21 Jun @ 1:35pm
Amazing keep the good work!
Black Rabbit  [author] 21 Jun @ 7:35am
@Omega thanks for the feedback, i will chance that in the next update
Omega 20 Jun @ 8:16pm
Wanted to start by saying I love your mod, but is there anyway you can tone down the spawn rate of the armor blueprints? They’re in every armor shop I go to, and I feel like I’m missing out on armor blueprints because I only see this one, plus once I research it, it becomes redundant!

@uhbyr1 that's a good Idea... But right now i need to take a break from this project and focus in work for a while... Have bills to pay, as soon as i can i Will come back with more updates
uhbyr1 19 Jun @ 1:59pm
You may try to contact the creator for Vanilla Music Expanded, as from the resently created mods he is the one directly experimenting with sounds (though different in his case, but still) - maybe he can help you with "how to"?.. Never hurts to try, at least
Black Rabbit  [author] 19 Jun @ 11:21am
@JediKnightSky In relation to the stealth suit, it could definitely be done and could add a lot of stealth. And MAYBE if I mess around with the normal maps, I could make the user invisible or translucent. I’d have to test it out.
Black Rabbit  [author] 19 Jun @ 11:15am
@JediKnightSky, using Re_Kenshi, it’s possible to load an alternative sound bank and assign it to animation triggers. Some modders have used this to give guns proper firing sounds during the reload animation — with a slight delay, it works really well.

The problem is, I don’t know how to create the sound bank itself (I can handle redirecting and assigning it to animations). The existing sound banks out there mostly cover regular firearms, which work great for things like the Service Rifle, Assault Rifle, and similar weapons… but there’s nothing suitable for energy weapons.

So maybe I’ll just accept this as a limitation for now and focus on ballistic guns as a starting point.
JediKnightSky 19 Jun @ 8:58am
Personally I would love to see the stealth suit from OWB, and the various tribal outfits from the Canyon folks. I think they would actually fit in pretty well on Kenshi
JediKnightSky 19 Jun @ 8:55am
As far as I understand it Black Rabbit, sound is something that is beyond modders to mod. Seen that thing come up a lot in mods about guns just sounding like crossbows.
Black Rabbit  [author] 19 Jun @ 7:29am
@Ryu o want to make It onde mod for ALL the guns... But right now i have no ideia How to make the sound for the weapons... I'm thinking of using some mods that already add sound and path in my Guns... But it don't have any energy ones...
Ryu Shimizu 18 Jun @ 9:29pm
When you eventually do create the weapons, will you put them all in one or will you do separate ones for ballistic and energy weapons?
OverlordMGC 18 Jun @ 3:05pm
@Black Rabbit Ah, alright. Thanks for the answer.
Black Rabbit  [author] 18 Jun @ 1:23pm
@OverlordMGC The vendor in this case is not an NPC, but rather how the FCS refers to the inventory of stores. I basically added these items to the inventory of the armor stores in most major cities, but I have yet to test this part. I know for a fact that it worked in World's End, but I haven't checked every city yet.

As for importing, if you don't care about the new items (cowboy outfit and gloves), you shouldn't need to import.
OverlordMGC 18 Jun @ 1:15pm
May I ask how this new vendor works, I mean does it need an import? Does it replace existing vendors?
Black Rabbit  [author] 18 Jun @ 11:23am
@chebjeb World items, buildings, walls, and things like that are low on the priority list right now. The current state of this mod (with this latest update) is, in my opinion, kind of good enough for a start. So, for now, I’ll just focus on fixing bugs and balancing.

The next step is another mod to add the guns. Sound is the biggest challenge in this part, I can use some other mods that add gun sound effects, but they come with a lot of problems, and none that I’ve found include laser guns. So I’ll have to learn how to make a sound bank for Kenshi.

After that, there’s the clothing for the other factions… and then I’ll work on world items. I’ll try to keep updates posted on Patreon.
ChebJeb 18 Jun @ 11:13am
Do you plan on making buildings similar to the ones in NCR from Fallout 2 or is your current focus solely on clothing from New Vegas?
Fantasy System 17 Jun @ 10:39pm
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
Black Rabbit  [author] 17 Jun @ 5:46pm
@NutFace the weapons are planed, but as a separeted mod, the name may chance, but i'm working with "Gun runners arsenal" in my head...

The time line Will depend on my free time, o want to add some more things to this before starting on the guns
NutFace 17 Jun @ 4:53pm
Absolutely insane that I was just about to search for ncr armor just to find this on the front page on my phone 🙏🙏
NutFace 17 Jun @ 4:51pm
PLEASE ADD THE WEAPONS.
Maybe even eventually an entire pack of weapons from new Vegas, as I feel like the weapons for games later than NV wouldn’t fit.
Black Rabbit  [author] 17 Jun @ 2:49pm
@bravocarlos80 In the lore I'm imagining for the final conversion, it wouldn't make sense for Caesar's Legion to be present, since the idea is that the game takes place around the same time as the beginning of Fallout: New Vegas, but on Santa Catalina Island, off the coast of California.

However, since this will be a set of modular mods that can be used independently, there's nothing stopping the Legion from being added. There are already mods that bring them into Kenshi, and I could integrate them in the future.
bravocarlos80 17 Jun @ 1:10pm
What about the Leggin? Would make sense that their arch enemy would appear...right? (Or did someone already ask about this and im just slow?)
OverlordMGC 17 Jun @ 11:25am
@Black Rabbit That sounds like a solid plan.
Black Rabbit  [author] 17 Jun @ 11:08am
@OverlordMGC Yes, the idea is to have several separate mods like “NCR Armors,” “Power Armors,” “Gun Runners Arsenal” or something along those lines, with all items required research to be produced.

Then, I’ll have another set of mods focused on factions like “NCR Expeditionary Force,” “Knights of Avalon,” “Desert Tribes,” etc.

And finally, a mod for item distribution and another one for world states.
OverlordMGC 17 Jun @ 11:00am
@Black Rabbit Sounds promising. Regarding the plans you have of a NCR faction, it would be nice if the faction mod isn't required for the outfits or weapons. So that instead of integrating everything into one blob, things are kept more modular. Might be just me thinking that tho.
Black Rabbit  [author] 17 Jun @ 9:36am
Next Updates:

I’ve started modeling the power armors, but they’re one of the most complicated parts for me. I want to keep them somewhat modular (boots, pants, torso, and helmet), make them heavy, and have the player feel like a walking tank when using them.

The idea is to create an item for the shirt slot (the power armor frame) without it, the armor can still be worn, but the weight would severely reduce mobility. That said, modeling all of this might take longer than I’d like.

So the next update (if all goes well) will include more glove variations and at least one new outfit, this time more civilian-themed, with a cowboy hat, vest, pants, and boots, along with some stat adjustments.

I also created a Patreon for the project, i plan to post ideas and updates there (the mod will always be free, and the Patreon posts won’t be paywalled).

The goal isn’t to charge for the mod, but if anyone wants to donate a little something for coffee, I’d really appreciate it.

OverlordMGC 16 Jun @ 3:46pm
Oh cool. The only NCR mod so far was the NCR ranger mod (still levelling up one of my characters in crossbow crafting skill to build the guns in that in high quality haha...) seeing this now is quite nice.
Black Rabbit  [author] 16 Jun @ 1:40pm
@Kratom crazy Yes and no... I started making them in Rhino (the software I'm more proficient in), but it can't export meshes that Kenshi will understand, so I converted it into Blender and added the armature from Kenshi. Now I'm trying to learn more Blender to make it faster.
John Marston 16 Jun @ 11:04am
U made them in blender ? It looks amazing.
Black Rabbit  [author] 16 Jun @ 6:07am
@Butterscotch you can mesage me if you wanto to do something together
Black Rabbit  [author] 16 Jun @ 6:06am
@LightSworn Gaming the mod already exists, but i will make a path for it whem a can
Butterscotch 16 Jun @ 2:14am
This is amazing. I've been building a fallout world overhaul for a few years now. Never found anything that worked well for the NCR.
Butterscotch 16 Jun @ 2:13am
@LightSworn that already exists
Lothric 15 Jun @ 11:25pm
I already have the United Cities asking for taxes
LightSworn Gaming 15 Jun @ 7:08pm
can you add the ncr ranger?
Black Rabbit  [author] 15 Jun @ 4:43pm
balancing is way off at the moment, will try and get better in the next update
