@LICE I've been quite busy lately with work and study, so I'm not really sure when that's gonna be. :c
It's not hard to do but, specially with the Meitou weapons, I wanted to make something more unique and all that, not just throw the weapons out into the world without any consideration. I'll see if I can take a little break soon to work more on the mod. I actually have a bunch of stuff modeled, just haven't had the time to do the rest. I'll see if I can make a meaningful update until the end of the month.

If anyone wants to make a complementary mod to distribute the weapons among NPCs you're free to do so in the meanwhile. If I remember it right it shouldn't be that hard to do. :)

@Cutter Sam Just checked the mod and it seems I forgot to include the weapons into the weapon manufacturer classes. Already fixed it. Just gotta test some improved weapon models and I'll upload the update. :)

@Cutter Sam The weapons are only craftable; each weapon has an individual research unlocked at Tech Level 2. The only place where they should be found is the Scraphouse, but I did a little testing and it does seem to not be working properly. I'll look into that today and update the mod ASAP. :)

@BIG_PUNPUN_STAR The thing with animation speed is that the "combat speed" is governed by armor. Weapon stats do have an influence, but it's mostly through the blunt damage/weight (which determine strength requirement and affects speed). In terms of weight the Nodachi and the Zhan Ma Dao are already pretty simillar, so I think a good workaround might be to use the katana animset. I'll give it a try in a few moments and make any adjustments needed. Also, I think those weapons really could fit the Katana class/animset, specially given the lack of such class in the mod.

About the sword length of the Tang Zhan Ma Dao and Song Zhan Ma Dao, they're around the same length and thickness of the nodachi (i think im using a mod that makes the sheath the same length as the blade and they're about the same, the nodachi is a little shorter) so i think it could still fit in the realm of the game to give them a quicker moveset and giving them a sheath, for an example of a sheath though i'll have to look for one and get back to you. Do you mind if i add you to give you any examples i might find? I just think it looks a bit silly having them float on your back the way that they do, i agree that its not very realistic to remove something that long out of a sheath on your back but idk. About the movesets of a few of them, i think i agree with a lot of the blunt class choices and i agree, some weapons fit better with that moveset. I think weapons like the Guom (Guom Truong too) or Tsuba Dha could work with Katana movesets, just to give a bit more variety and what not.

@BIG_PUNPUN_STAR Also, on the animation side of things, a lot of weapons don't seem to look right to me (or flat out don't make sense, like the ones with guards) two handed, so I use the Blunt Class animation as an override, which is the only class in which the weapon is held with one hand, but all that is subject to change nonetheless. If you have any suggestions regarding animations, class or stats, just give the details. That's the kind the easiest part to fix/change, so no worries. :)

Also, I think I'll have a big update soon...

@BIG_PUNPUN_STAR The models I used for reference don't include proper sheaths, so if you see one (on the mod or otherwise) that you think would look cool, tell me and I'll see to it. :)
About classes: in Kenshi they are kinda weird, you know? I mean, if we talk in real life terms, what is a katana other than... a katana? What is a hacker and what is sabre? It's kinda arbitrary and hard to figure out, and that's one of the reasons I'm always listening to feedback. It is indeed my mod and I do it because I have a ton of fun and learn a lot doing it, but at the same time I'm sharing it because I want other people to have fun with it too, so what you say it as important as anything else and I apreciate a lot you taking the time to give me some feedback. Really.

@BIG_PUNPUN_STAR I know. Both Zhan Ma Dao and the Liao Dao are probably the heaviest weapons (at least among the ones used for combat) I could include in the mod, I think, specially since they were intented for fight against cavalry. Compared to a Plank or Fragment Axe it's basically a toy sword, but... Lol
I didn't include a sheath for them mostly to keep it in line with the vanilla weapons (it has the same blade length as the Plank, for example, which has no sheath) but also because I felt it would be impractical in combat (not that realism matters in Kenshi, but...). I am going for "realism", but there's only so much I can do, to be honest. Most weapon blades are rescaled so they can be useful in-game and things like that, and in the end it's still a game and has to be fun and look cool.
That being said, it's not like a sheath would ruin the mod. Lol

So far after messing around with the weapons finally, the textures look good, havent seen any problems there, they also just look great in general. My only complaint/critique is that the Tang Zhan Ma Dao and Song Zhan Ma Dao are heavy weapons when they look thin enough to be quicker styles (saber/katana) and it almost feels criminal to not have a sheath on those things because of how beautiful they are on the back. Outside of that, i understand you're trying to go for realism but it would honestly be nice if some of the more katana looking swords worked with the katana moveset/skillset just to diversify the weapons a bit in both attacks and who can use them. Its your mod, though, so dont take my word as law or anything. I still havent messed with all the weapons yet either but from what i've seen already, they look great, thank you for your hard work.

@BIG_PUNPUN_STAR I haven't checked them with the Gold Dust mod anymore; I have stoped using it in favor of NANOU's retexture mod. But if you find anything, just tell me and I'll see what I can do to fix it. :)

A lot of the older ones seem fine texture wise (thought they look funny with other texture mods outside of gold dust) but if i see anything with the newer ones, i'll for sure give you a heads up.

Feel free to leave any feedback or suggestions whenever you think of them, specially about the models; given the fact that I don't have a lot of time, I don't usually test the weapons with every single texture, so some things might look off, some things I might overlook...
I try to keep an eye on the mods as often as I can.

@gregbalisong420 Korean weapons are definetly on the list! I'm finishing up some Indonesian weapons and then I'm doing the Hwandudaedo and Hyeopdo. Suggestions are always welcome, specially because the list has grown so big I hardly ever know what to do next. Lol

Lol I'm currently working on a Qin dinasty armor (I have the high poly models ready, some low poly, but I still have to figure out how to properly make a texture for Kenshi) and once it's finished I'll upload some proper images. I have a few weapons on the oven and once they're ready I'll post the 3D models here at least, with the last ones. On the sketchfab page you can find the names on the description, by the way. I know it's not ideal but maybe that can help a little bit. And thank you! I actually have a lot of fun with these. :D

@Scar It's more a matter of relative size. Hardly anything in real life would get close to what a heavy weapon is in Kenshi (maybe a Zweihänder?) in terms of mass and size, but I wanted the mod to add some variety in the game. The Guom is a saber, but the Guom Truong is basically a polearm (in terms of the real weapon on which this one is based, it is even reinforced as such), so given the size I thought it would fit better as a heavy weapon (since it's kinda neither a polearm nor a sabre). Same with the Unusual Truong Dao, which has a 40cm handle. I take some liberties with weapons on the mod because the more I tried to be accurate, the less the weapons seem to fit the game.

But if you think it would be better classified as a Sabre, I could make the change, no problem. :D
I could keep the animations as an "animation override", so nothing in terms of gameplay would change, only the skill category.

Finally got around to making some of the things from this mod and was just wondering why a lot of the sabres and katanas are labelled as heavy weapons? The Guom Truong for example.

@krn̈vr I'm actually currently reworking scales for everything (specially the guangdongs) and have adjusted that. Just haven't had enough time to finish everything so I can upload it. I also improved all the textures and some models. I THINK I might be able to finish everything untill the end of the week, but I'm not really sure. :/

The update will introduce around 20 new weapons and the scales will be more accurate to real life, as much as possible, even tho the grips are something I usually have to make bigger because of the animations. I'm also working on some Qing dinasty armor, but that I have no idea when I'll finish...

@THE_DAWN_GUARD Currently they are only craftable; you'll find the research in "Smithing: The Art of War", it requires Level 2 tech. But I'll see about making them purchasable this week still. Seems to be something people want.

@KAVO I'm currently finishing two versions of zhanmadao. Lol
Miaodao is on the list also, but since I have some other weapons I want to make before that, I can't really say when that's gonna be. I'll be releasing a big update in the next few days and once that's done I'm gonna see if I can make some Qin dinasty armor. I'm also planning to make them compatible (and with that I mean "good looking") with the texture mod that is on the front page (I it's just amazing).
