crazy thought maybe, friends and I were listening to the klaxon music which was starting to get old. Would there be a way to integrate tuning into internet radio? Would be awesome if it required a way to have to use the antenna to get the broadcast from earth.

@Sen Yes, i do plan on adding a PA system, i also plan on adding a radio slot in the helmet or the suit.

@Nitro im not sure what you're referring to regarding lighting and the sounders, please explain further.

Expect delays as im currently busy and adding the PA system will require the wife to whip up a model :D

dumb question, but do you ever plan on adding like a klaxon like item that can be hooked up to broadcast radio channels? for like station wide announcements?

It just seems that they do not understand the serious need to establish communications within the game and at the same time they themselves have been talking for several years about how much they would like to attract more audience.
The new content is certainly good and interesting, but so far the biggest headache of the game is loneliness =)

I've looked at the internals of the game and seen how the project is, trust me, they're doing their best, i would have lost my mind years ago if i was working on Stationeers because Unity is well, Unity xD

truth is i could learn a thing or 2 from rocketwerkz :D

Also Kentucky, you don't need to use PTT, have looked at the config? or read the steam mod page?

there's a continuous transmission mode toggle in the config :)

The mod is simply wonderful, BUT!

The situation is as follows:
When I first start a server with this mod, everything is fine. My friend connects and plays. However, as soon as I restart the server, my friend won't join until I connect a backup world WITHOUT this mod, with the mod disabled on the server itself. However, when my friend can't join, I can still connect to the server without any problems.

I have two PCs, so I connect to the server not via a LAN connection, but via the internet and ports.
Any ideas what this could be?

Additionally: if I simply disable the mod my friend won't join the server either, only unless I MANDATORY extract the world from a backup where this mod has never been used.

New Update:
Switched fully to Unity for microphone capture and processing and we no longer need steam, meaning anyone with a DRM free copy can also use this mod.

Fixed delay and improved performance.

improved audio situation and made it so that hearing the radio in a vacuum is more of a feature than a bug.

reworked a bunch of systems to align with the change.

bumped version to 1.6.0

known bugs:

When ever a radio is spawned for the first time it throws a null reference error. this is fine and only happens once, the mod will still work as regular.

please inform me of any breaking bugs or weird behaviour thanks :cleanfloppy: :shiny:

Does the mod use the player brain to assign voices? This causes problems because on multiplayer when a player dies and they decay, they won't be able to join while their brain item still exists.

Also a suggestion - For communcation in vacuums, have a slot for radios inside the helmet, so the player can communicate while outside. Also if there was an option for the player to start with a radio in their helmet with a small battery, it would make the communcation early game easier.

Hello everyone, we're aware of the following:

- SPC SET command is behaving strangely while the server is a client host.

- Can hear people in vacuum on radios.. this is because of my recent implementation of using our own mixer. Note this only effects Radios.

- Noticeable Audio issues on big worlds with a lot of heavy calculations, Threads.. Threads..

Nevermind, I figured it out. Turns out that CREATIVE locker kit doesn't have it (when you right click with the authoring tool). But when you spawn the kit, it's there. Weird. Anyways.... problem solved :) Thanks!

Hi @lorexcold thanks for the follow-up! Yes, I've managed to build the radio tower and some radios as well. But when I look into the locker kit, the only storage I see is for the fire extinguisher and the gas mask - both vanilla ones. Otherwise, it's only lockers and shelves.

I do have other mods and I'm wondering if they're not interacting somehow, though I'd find it strange as I don't have any other mods that edit the locker kit. Let me know how I can help you debug this and I'd be happy to send you whatever you need.

Update 1.0.3:

Added configurable global audio volume for radio and human voice, adjustable via config file or new console commands: SPC SET Value Target - (e.g., SPC SET 10 Radio or Human).

Enabled Morse code

Fixed Radio Storage clipping out of bounds.

Switched all audio sources to a custom audio mixer for enhanced sound quality and effects. Please report any audio issues.

@Sean I've pushed an update that should hopefully fix the looping & delay issue, it should also decrease audio latency so audio should be more responsive now!

Awesome Mod, the way sound echos in a base is great. Not Really a bug, but the audio is 1-10 seconds delayed and sometimes loops

Update 1.0.1: Decreased Tower power usage scale from 15 to 3.
Previously the tower took the setting value and (x) by 15 to determine power usage which meant that for a signal of 250 Meters, it would use around 3750 + Basepower.

With this update power consumption has been decreased, 250 Meters will now only use 750W + Basepower.
