I wouldn't drastically change anything, just lower damage to vanilla-equivalent weapons, reduce durability a tiny bit, and increase crafting skill requirement by 2-4 levels.
Considering you need level 8 welding for a scrap metal SWORD in base game, i dont think someone who only has a bit of maintenance knowledge would know how to make a katana 😭
HOWEVER, xp gains are balanced. you did good on those.

All weapons are available as long as your Maintenance level is 1 or higher — so yeah, they’re somewhat available. I might change that later once I’ve added the rest of the weapons.

You can only craft them. In the Crafting Menu under Weaponry Tab, the Recipes are listed there.
