This is broken. The mod has some sort of effect on the inertia of the ship. It propels it at very slow speeds automatically. Secondly the placement box is broken.

@Tristavius Can you update this mod with a duplicate screen that doesn't have the corner overlap bits? I'd like to use all corners of this screen. Thanks! :)

Current Functionality: LCD Screen
Future Functionality: Working viewscreen, should the ability to build it be added to the API. Not currently possible!

Fraid not :( When I published these a year ago I had hoped to replace those lines of text by now, but still not currently possible. Oh well :(

No current plans to add additional graphics. Prior to LCD screens being a thing these were just a static image, when LCD came along I turned them into a full screen and added the graphics as an option.

Would it be possible to take the HUD overlay from the Image and turn it into a camera overlay to replace the terrible grainy default one?

A long, long overdue update!

I have now provided full DX11 compatibility as well as more advanced texturing and finally added a colission mesh! The screen has now also been converted to an LCD screen and textures can be added in the same way as the other KSWH parts.

I will be re-building the original screen texture in the next week or two and will add it as an option for the LCD. (I've lost the original files and anyway need to replace the stars to match the current two skyboxes).

Don't forget, everyone that these camera views if rendered in real-time will require the game to be re-rendered for every visible LCD in your view. If you have five LCDs in view and all active at 60 frames a second, it'll cost you 300 frames per second plus whatever FPS your main view is getting. While this technology is awesome and somewhat necessary for some ship configurations, it's hard to do graphically without doing massive trade-offs. I am hoping maybe Keen will implement a slider for "FPS" on each screen so it limits the FPS based on importance which the engineer decides, eg; perhaps internal cameras only need 10 fps while external can suffice with 30?

if you did that, we could have surveilence cameras, or you could have a black and white screen setup with high quality at a framerate like 10 fps with medium quality and it probably would work the same way

dude, now find a way to get lightweight low-quality pictures from a camera, but at something like 5 or less fps to make it not so graphics intensive

Working on it :) The problem is it doesn't seem to be easy to make screens that aren't square... you can slope, bend and do whatever you like to that square, but the current shape of this makes it difficult. I have an idea though, just need to find the time to implement it now that my Hx Glass project is out the way.

Nope, but as per the 01.069 Viewscreens changing the image to (still static) pictures is now possible :)

Hopefully this is the last step before them make camera mounts a thing! :)

Changes to my previous comment! Simple dynamic texture changes (all be it within a limited framework) are now possible. I need to stop being lazy and update this as a monitor soon :)

I saw this, and immediately thought of the same idea Thunder had - it'll be nice to have a enclosed cockpit with a view of space, instead of leaving it dangerously exposed. Hope they add the ability sometime!

HI Thunder Blitz1. Unfortunately at this time even simple dynamic texture changes aren't possible in Space Engineers, let alone streaming a viewpoint on to something.

I have hoped for a very long time this might become a possibility, and the fact that they have turned their attention to cameras recently leaves me hopeful.

In the event it ever becomes possible, I'll be rushing to do it, don't worry :D
