Thanks so much for the tips! Left an award as a thank you It's helped a lot with my maps. :)

I think a decently small island in the lake for some sort of isolated lore could be cool but the mountain separation already does that, so there's not really much you can do since it's already great in most regards

When it comes to lava my main tip is to use the tool that lets you copy pixels underneath. but first you want to quickly click with the temperature tool till you get one of the cooler lava variants. from there i like to copy that cooler variant instead of using the default hot lava variant. and when i want a spot to be hot i go in with sightly warmer lava till i reach peak lava heat in the gradient. placing the infernal biome around the cool lave can also further add to detail.

When it comes to the biomes I try not to think about the biomes not as biomes, but as colors. Instead of going i want to make a grass plains, I go what combination of these colors here would look like a grass plains? and then I use my biomes based on their brightness and color. if a biome is lighter than a similarly colored one it for me means that it is lower in elevation, if a biome is darker it is higher in elevation. I also find that it helps to not just hold down the mouse button when placing biomes, but to insted quickly click. this lets have more of a gradient in some sense by allowing previous biomes to show in some parts underneath it!

When it comes to the snow on top of the mountains I switch to age of ice, then i switch back to a non ice age and pause time. while the game is paused I look back at my snowy areas and go over places I feel should retain their snow with summits. then I unpause time, let excess snow melt, and repeat until I am satisfied.

Always happy to give tips! For the mountains I find it best to start by vaguely mapping out where you want your hills to go then building up to higher and higher layers. on each layer try to first outline the shape of your mountain. then you can go in with the large chunks. then i find it important to go back into my layers of mountains and place small patterns or dots of a tile that is lower in height. if you take the biome removal tool and use it on my map you will notice a small kind of checker board pattern in a lot of my terrain. I personally think that this pattern helps blend in my terrain.

Hey! This is beautiful, i've been trying to make better maps for myself but they all end up looking pretty bland. Especially mountains and biomes, how did you make yours look so good? Any quick tips? Like how'd you blend them so well and how'd you get the middle lava pit to be not ugly like mine always end up?

It because of the new beta update, all the map creators want to try out making a map with the new features.

jesus christ why are there so many fucking bangers releasing lately, I can't keep up with all of them, that's way better than those like beggars posting absolute shit that somehow gets popular tho.
