In the tome of Witchcraft, the unit Witch has a little issue, when doing naval battles, instead of a ship appearing, its just an invisible unit, I can still use it perfectly fine, its just a visual issue, would be nice if you could fix :)

Is it just me... or is Seelie, like, REALLY good? Army wide hastened for multiple turns, strong CC buff for caster units, all faeries are very good at their jobs, and a guaranteed blind? Even the SPI may not be draft or knowledge, but it IS mana, and mana is always useful.

Dunno, it isn't blatant, but I at least am thinking the hastened duration should be lower and the blind spell should still allow resistance.

Tbf, I DID briefly check, and unseelie DO have an association with stormy weather! Real problem is this game needs actual weather effects (I can dream, right?)

I'd need to check myself. Realistically your concern is valid, and forest is a given and snow is more important since it IS a shadow-leaning fey tome. I suppose what I really should do is tell you to split them into four tomes, one for each fairy. :steammocking::steammocking::steammocking:

Just joking, but sorry I don´t really see that coming.
-theme wise it´s not really fitting to the fey folk. for the "bad" fey (unseelie) maybe swamp would be ok and river to the good ones (seelie). But would need to deepdive a bit into scottish folk tales to varify, as at least in my germanic background fairies are just forests and flowerfields ^^"
-But more important is the balance: stalagmites was ok as it´s just mountains in underground, so no real additinal region. But here it would add a 3rd to 4th region for the SPI, that´s way too universal. Couldn´t find one in my quick check: is there actually a SPI that covers rivers?

Hey Sindir, another request; can the Tome of Unseelie SPI also count for river and/or swamp terrain? Preferably the former, the added synergy with a Storm Giant -> Stormborne play would be neat.

Sorry that will not happen.
It´s super easy to fix this problem with just deleting one of the rpk of the doubled tome as I explained in the Mod describtion.
Also there is no case of "missing the event" of an update. If this mod got an update and the rpk of the tome is recreated, you´ll just notice a second tome of tides in the game. Then just go and delete it again. This will not break your current match in any way - this can just be done in general most tome mod changes and adds etc. can be done during a play through without any danger.

Just was trying to test out adding tome lore audio to the tomes... but didn´t worked, very frustrating. So good I can do something easy here.
First I was kinda like: nah would this still fit the theme.
But as a dwarf fanboy I´ll just take your reasoning and deliver ;) FIXED!
In worst case they´ll see some gems in the ceiling, they falsely considere stars.
Tome will still work because of Placebo Effect haha!

@Sindir Hey, another Astrology oddity. It applies to mountains, but does not apply to underground Stalagmites.

I can quite imagine you are fine with keeping it this way due to theme, but wanted to confirm if intended behavior. I dunno, maybe they can see a reflection of the stars if they are close enough to the ceiling of the underground! XD

Is it possible to extract Tome of Tides to separate mod?
Because it's hard to check that this mod is updated if I use "Elemental Tomes - Revived" as well.
It's too easy to miss the event and this forcing me to choose between two mods I don't want to do.

Sorry, I’m not explaining myself very well.
I completely understand that you want to stay true to the theme of the book it makes sense and fits the role-play aspect.

What I meant is that visually, for someone who relies only on the spell’s description, they won’t understand why it doesn’t work on their celestial dragon or on a large elemental, etc., since it isn’t specified that elementals, celestials, and so on are excluded.

I hope you see what I mean :)

I just have a build that is mostly Materium but starts with a punch of Astral for affinity tree, and Astrology actually is pretty dang well situated as a starter tome (good buff, a summon even if a bit unique, healing, and a guaranteed research post), and so I was lke "Oh noooo."

Actually already quite cuz wasn't expecting that fast a fix, but its all good! XD Thanks for saving me for a goofy substitute!

I start to understand why the original creator called his mod BETA,
there are so many cases where entries are just missing. I just don´t get how no one noticed it for so long (including myself as this tome is the only of this mod I use myself xD).

Changing texts is (sounds silly) one of the most time intensive things to do xD
So as I think it explaines what the enchantment is doing in a thematically good way, for now I leave like it is. (also the type of effected units under the describtion is there too)
The excluding is with purpose.
F.e. a mechanical Dragon ist not eating living stuff and can´t feel hunger. A celestial giant shouldn´t bow down to his hunger.
Hope you understand what I mean... I want to keep the intention of the mods theme alive.
The change to "large targets" destroys that and softens the borders too much.

Indeed, it seems to be working fine (I’m playing a giant leader to test, and it works on him too). However, the description of “Ravenous Mark” still looks a bit “messy,” but the important thing is that it functions properly.

As for excluding the types you mentioned, won’t that cause issues when a unit has two types at the same time?
For example, Large and Elemental, or like the dragon leader who at some point gains an additional racial type besides Dragon.

@Sheor The unit requírements are a bit wired actually.
F.E. the demigiant requirement still is existing and working. but just not shown in the units overview anymore.
So I left the old ones there as they are still working and added the large target one, so everything is covered. But this way I also had to forbid elemental, construct and celestial, as this is not fitting themewise with them.
Still leave the explanation because it pretty well explains what it´s doing.
Everything should be fixed now in the new version

You should also be careful with the “dragon race” for the spell “Ravenous Mark” (Hunger), because in the description it’s no longer linked to “dragon.” I don’t know if that means it doesn’t work with dragons anymore. lol

@Sheor Haha you´re kinda right, but to be very honest with you I didn´t even noticed that the hero skills are still listed in the preview of a book, ups.
Imagining there might be players who enter the game after the cancelation of tome hero abilities it can be missleading, and yeah having it cleaner is nicer too.

Yes, now they’ve put “large target,” probably to make things easier I guess.

As for the hero abilities, couldn’t you just remove the visual part so they don’t show up in the book descriptions anymore, to make it cleaner? (I imagine you probably think it’s pointless.)

Hmm due to the giant kings DLC there might have been some changes to the types. The "half-giants" mentiones are (I think) ogres etc.that shoud be affected by the spell too (like the ogre summon in the tome). But gonna check this. I honestly have no clue of current unit types as I haven´t played since before the giants DLC ^^" just went into the game for mod fixing.
But looks like, as you said "large target" is the way to go.
With the hero abilities: no they don´t work and never will again, because Triumph Studios deleted the function of tome hero abilities long time ago.

Hi, The hero abilities granted by the books don’t seem to work, such as “Emergency Ration” from the Tome of Hunger (I only tested it with a giant leader).
Similarly, for the spell “Ravenous Mark”, the mod description says it applies to half-giants and giants, but in-game it only mentions half-giants.
It should actually apply to giants, since half-giants don’t exist.

Also, the “giant” race trait doesn’t actually exist; it should be “large target”, just like giant-slaying weapons that deal bonus damage against “large targets.”

Oh is *that* what was happening sometimes? I use Witchcraft all the dang time and some fights just refused to autobattle without crashing, but manual would go fine. Id actually suspected Elemental Tomes bc it was against someone using those tomes, haha Glad that' fixed! I love this mod so much.

I should clarify. Auto battle does fine. When I either manually fight, or watch the results of an auto-resolve the game crashes on that ability use.
