That's because the warhammer world is is basically a distorted version of the earth. Most of the factions are based off real world cultures with some exceptions. Some examples being Brettonia being age of chivalry France combined with Arthurian legends,The empire being based off The Holy Roman Empire and The Tomb Kings being an offshoot of Ancient egypt.

Why does Warhammer Fantasy Map look similar to a world map?
