Yeah, they made some pdfs to teach you exporting, texturing and they also allow you to download some 3d test models.

I don't have the polycount in mind, but I used about 4000 tris and the limit is 5000.

I used Blender 2.72b for the high and low poly model, as well as crazy bump and gimp for the textures ^^
