This looks amazing - is there going to be an update to make it compatible again?
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 28 Jan, 2019 @ 10:11am
I apologize for the lack of updates. The new government mechanics from couple patches ago posed a serious problem. For the starter, it meant that it can override or be overridden by another mod that used the new government mechanic.

I tried to make a completely new file in /governments or something but it did not work as it failed to prevent other countries from adopting the government type used in this mod while I was testing the game. In fact, the AI ones adopted it long BEFORE the Glorious Revolution event fired at all.

I will need to research this now that it's been a couple patches later and perhaps someone has discovered a solution to this. Will try to give an update on this by the weekend if I can, as I'm currently enrolled part-time in college (history major, w00t!) so I will be slightly busy.

Would love an update to this - government mechanics, especially for england/Britain feel lacking.

I have also created an official thread for reporting any bugs with this mod under the Discussions tab. Please use them to report it there. Thank you.

New version is now out. Mainly fixes.

v1.12.1 - 15 August 2018

After a long time since it's been last updated, I am pleased to announce that this mod has been now updated to coincide with the England patch for EU4.

Please view the changelog tab on this page to see what's been changed.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 21 Jan, 2018 @ 4:46pm
Good news, everyone.

I've finally made a progress on the mod, resolving a frustrating issue I've had with a thing I was planning to add for the mod.

If all goes well, I plan to time the release of a new version with release of the upcoming Immersion Pack announced for EU4 which, coincidentally, will add many new provinces for the British Isles.

Again, I can't promise anything but I can tell you that I've now surmounted a major hurdle that had been keeping me from releasing an update.

This mod looks so nice
Only if i could use it :(
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 9 Apr, 2017 @ 5:55am
Ok, some bad and good news.

Bad news: I was not able to complete playtesting in a timely fashion before 1.20 came out and I couldn't really be bothered to downgrade to 1.19. So that mean a completely new game and the prospective release is considerably delayed.

Good news: It was not all for naught. I was able to discover some issues with this mod that I need to resolve first before releasing it. I also still intend to get it done so I'm pulling all time I can get to playtest the game with this mod enabled. I can't really give ETA as I've been busy lately with schoolwork and such. I expect to be done with it at least before the end of this May, if not earlier.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you.

Good point on downsides. I already made it non-exclusive in my personal mod (separate from this mod here) to see how it goes but I will consider transferring it over to parliamentary election mod. Thanks for the feedback!

The new version of this mod is still in playtesting. I've already made my determination this time to not delay a new version again so I've sacrificed time for other games to do this. ;p Oh, yeah, and game isn't crashing anymore since I disabled my modified version of another mod from Steam workshop so yay. :D
longshotimpossible 31 Mar, 2017 @ 1:36pm
There isn't really much of a point in the mutual exclusion. The purpose seems to be to avoid stacking estate and parliament bonuses, but both have their downsides already. And since you seemingly can't remove parliament seats, the exclusion can lead to situations where you're stuck with 0 loyalty estates because they want land. I'd remove it.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 21 Mar, 2017 @ 4:19pm
in provinces, I mean
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 21 Mar, 2017 @ 4:17pm
I need opinion from everyone here... do you think estate territories and parliament seats should be allowed to co-exist. Does it make sense to either make mutually exclusive or vice versa?
nooo8oooo 21 Mar, 2017 @ 11:00am
Great! I'm glad to hear that, I've always wanted a more indepth Parliamentary system in Europa.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 20 Mar, 2017 @ 9:36pm
Funny you should ask! I've actually resumed work on its update this week. Hopefully, I will be able to complete it in time for before my spring break is over. :)
nooo8oooo 20 Mar, 2017 @ 4:57pm
Just out of curiosity, has anything been done with this mod since the new Parliament mechanic was introduced in Common Sense?
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 18 Dec, 2016 @ 10:02am
Hi, you're more than welcome to continue this project, since EU4 has been constantly crashing for me. I think Steam Workshop allows for giving another person an admin on a workshop item or something. That way, duplicate mods can be avoided. I'll see what I can do here.
Scotty Vi Britannia  [author] 15 Dec, 2016 @ 8:04am
is there a chance you could update this mod? If not i may do it myself and give credit to you. Simply so my friends can use it. ^^
prime henry kissinger 7 May, 2016 @ 8:58am
Is it compatible with the extended timeline mod?
Sterling 18 Mar, 2016 @ 3:09pm
Nice to see that you're updating it :). Great mod, btw.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 5 Mar, 2016 @ 8:12pm
I regret to say that the release will be delayed to next weekend due to unexpected circumstances. But at least that will give me more time to polish it out, so maybe see it as a mixed blessing. ;)
Phoenius 2 Mar, 2016 @ 7:13am
Excellent mate!
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 1 Mar, 2016 @ 7:04pm
Hi, sorry for delayed response. I have been busy with real life, particularly with college, but I expect to have it updated by this weekend. Not only will it support latest EU4 patch but will have some changes. Stay tuned!
Phoenius 17 Feb, 2016 @ 10:44am
Update?
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 18 Sep, 2015 @ 5:17pm
The mod is now updated for 1.13 support.
dotoshiro 18 Sep, 2015 @ 2:34pm
Okay that's great, thanks!
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 18 Sep, 2015 @ 2:29pm
No, it is not updated yet. I will try to make that happen. Not much changes, though.
dotoshiro 17 Sep, 2015 @ 11:55am
Is this updated for 1.13?
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 26 Jun, 2015 @ 10:42pm
Depends on which patch you are using. In both versions, it must be at least year 1688, is Absolute Monarchy or English Monarchy, It does not trigger if you have constitutional monarchy. But I may change that.
truelove101992 26 Jun, 2015 @ 4:58pm
How do I trigger the Glorious Revolution?
Reverie 15 Jun, 2015 @ 5:22am
Thank you very much, kind sir.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 14 Jun, 2015 @ 10:51am
There you go https://www.dropbox.com/s/6xhgj6pmk75jvk7/parliamentary_election%20v1.09.zip?dl=0 Should be compatible with 1.11 Let me know if any issues come up.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 14 Jun, 2015 @ 10:41am
Sure, I'll get one set up shortly.
Reverie 14 Jun, 2015 @ 3:44am
Could you please add a manual download link for 1.11 version for those who aren't playing 1.12 yet?
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 12 Jun, 2015 @ 9:25am
As promised, mod is now updated!

v1.10
-Updated for 1.12
-Updated 00_on_actions.txt to include any changes from 1.12 patch.
-Parliamentary Monarchy now supports parliament mechanics and government ranks; Common Sense DLC may be required for this (I think; please report issues with it if not using that DLC)
-Glorious Revolution event updated to add having either Absolute Monarchy or English Monarchy as a trigger.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 11 Jun, 2015 @ 2:41pm
FYI, I'm delaying update to make it compatible with 1.12 until issues reported with uploads to Steam Workshop is resolved. I do not know how many of you using mod are still using 1.11 and I don't think I can support more than one EU4 versions in .mod files.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 4 Jun, 2015 @ 3:06pm
I want to let you all know that because the new parliament mechanics will be DLC-only, if and when I do plan to make use of that, I will be only including it as a separate version that requires Common Sense. The version without any DLC requirement like the current version will be continued and maintained here. That way, everyone can make use of this mod, though obviously with some differences.

Will let you all know when and if I make that separate version. Stay tuned.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 19 May, 2015 @ 1:36pm
Just to advise that I encourage you all to share your feedback on this mod. It is really important for me to know what you think about it, what you think should be changed or improved, etc. Thanks.
Phoenius 11 May, 2015 @ 1:40pm
Pretty nice mod :)
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 6 May, 2015 @ 8:53pm
Question for you all: Now with Prime Minister adding ADM/DIP/MIL to ruler's traits, should the tech cost modifier be removed?
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 3 May, 2015 @ 8:41am
Mod is now updated. The changelog below:

v1.09
-Changed MTTH a bit for the Glorious Revolution event
-Old Tory party should now provide a missionary bonus
-King’s Friends party should now provide colonist bonus
-Prime Minister selection now adds ADM, DIP, or MIL to ruler’s traits depending on whom you pick. Still provides tech cost bonus but that may be removed later.
-Updated 00_on_actions.txt to make it better compatible with the latest version of game.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 28 Mar, 2015 @ 10:50am
Just want to point out for everyone using this mod, you can use this for your AAR on Paradox forum about England/Britain. For example, you might make up story about how the small English voter base voted for the opposition when economy isn't doing well or when ministry fell following loss of confidence vote in Parliament because war has gone badly, etc. You get the idea. :)
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 25 Mar, 2015 @ 9:12pm
@[ZE] ThatGuy: I agree that EU4 should offer greater control and variety over the government. I just wish that Paradox could one day implement something like this better than I have here but I'm not holding my breath for that.
Legion, Duke of Rockford  [author] 25 Mar, 2015 @ 9:10pm
After delays due to my awfully prolonged illiness, college, and catching up on 1.9.2 save game, the mod is now finally updated to current EU4 version. You can play it again! Sorry for the inconvenience. -L
ThatGuy 23 Mar, 2015 @ 7:23am
This mod seems interesting. I always thought that EUIV would benefit from allowing greater control and variety over the government. The type of government should have a more meaningful impact on gameplay than just a few stats.
