no
Krampfnudelwurst 2 Sep @ 4:34am
is there ANY way to move it once ure in the middle of drilling?
Dr. Weldman 1 Sep @ 11:03am
is there ballast
Sebo 1Ntelingence 21 Aug @ 10:36am
it jams a bit but i think it works well but when i first deployed it and got to the oil it spilled out i dont know if its user error or smt

the pipe keeps disconnecting from the annular
ZBpro 19 Aug @ 7:49am
Anyone got ideas every time i load the save it breaks the rig?
BirreD 15 Aug @ 1:13pm
hes a little goofy, but hes right. its been tested for a while, the only issue would be that high wind makes it a bit wobbly, except for that. its pretty much perfect
A-gattino 15 Aug @ 1:12pm
this oil rig has been tested for ages, by quite a few people and they found no issues.

if you are having an issue chances are it is your own fault
try rethinking what you are doing before you comment

@diggerd101, its locked because you are not meant to use it until you have refined the oil
diggerd101 14 Aug @ 11:13pm
Cant even pump the refined oil out becuase the refinery pumps locked button wont open
AeryToast 14 Aug @ 10:07pm
@Yourlocal yes, physics and pumping stops beyond a certain point, I wish it didn't but it does sadly. The only thing you can do is modify the tanks to be larger so when you go to sell with your diesel/AV fuel carrier, there is enough made for you when you get back. (IE: Net positive design)
The drill will continue to put rods in even when it has struck oil, causing an endless loop of it not being able to actually get oil for any suitable amount of time, also, the oil doesn't heat up enough for the refinery. This is a great rig and I respect the amount of work put into it, will you ever continue to update it?
yourlocalpinkslug 8 Aug @ 9:22am
so does the autopilot stop at the waypoint? I really just want to let this thing run on its own while i do other stuff
leon 8 Aug @ 7:14am
if you catch the thing on fire u get a really cool experience
leon 8 Aug @ 7:12am
what does red button do

#3: The heaters required to reach 315*c. This was talked about by the OG author. I read what they said and as such wrapped the whole distillation tower in electric furnaces. It's a huge space heater disaster waiting to happen and in no way at all is supported by even the most lax of fire codes....but It works to get raw oil up to 315*c for refinement. As of the typing of this I still have problems with heat loss, and after about 20min of fuel being refined the temp drop below 300*c. I'm working on ideas. I might update with a post if I figure out something that works good enough.

#4: The rig -needed- a stair case added in the walk though of the drilling ops building. I got so mad at having to run all round the living area, that I just started to jump over the railing to reach the main deck. I added a stair case just to not run though the rig again to get to the next floor and access the drilling ops center directly.

Sorry for spam; screw the 1k limit. I'm done.

#2 The pipe connection process is automatic, but it was far from perfect. The problems I had were that pipes just would not link up. The drill was right, the tower had the pipe moved into place to connect, but the pipe sorta just floated out of range and would not connect randomly. To fix this I added wedge blocks on the front of the drill as to better flesh out the small dinky blocks that formed the guide slot. This lead me to another issue of once the drill started, pipe would just randomly "drop" out of place and just leave the drill, with new pipe hanging to be taken by the drill; however it was seen as the start of a well and auto lowered even though the drill was 15m-20m deep into the sea floor at that point The fix I discovered, as just to add a few extra rails of track for the auto loading tower to ride on. It's dumb, but since I came up with the idea, the problem of drill pipes not connecting went away for at least now the drill works 100% fine for me on auto start.

#1: the cameras are cool, and don't get me wrong they are very helpful; but the size and views suck. To fix this I placed three cameras. The first was on the front of the control building so I did not have to squat down to see out the window in order to look at the top of the drill rig. The second camera isn't so much a placement, but I moved the camera from the pipe lifting rig from a fixed spot on top of the tower. It now sits on the moving pipe lifting part it's self. I just didn't like the fixed view. I also placed a camera high up in the drill rig body so I can have a top down view, it was actually useful to do. The most important camera I put in was at the base of the drill rig as to have a view of the pipe connection process. This was major to me, because I had a lot of problems with the pipe system actually connecting, and wanted to see things without having to run around the rig to get to the drill platform. I also resized all the displays so I could actually see everything

I normally don't leave replies on what people make, however this was just a -really cool- build that seriously impressed me because it's clearly obvious that a lot of time was spent to make something this complex. With all love tho, I need to say that this project had some rather sizable as well as a few "sorta meh problems" that just frustrated me as a player; and I can imagine other players having these issues too. So with nothing but love and respect to the original creator, I'm making this post detail what I did to solve these problems. If by any chance my ideas solve issues for anyone, credit for my problem solving skills would be cool, but In all respect and love to the OG creator, I just need to say that I am not trying to take credit for anything that is not mine. So with the love and respect given for something as cool as this project, the problems I had and their fix are as follows. (pt 1/?)

Nvm,works fine....just had to end up respawning a new one, also somehow an electrical node was unhooked from one of the lineer tracks on the rod base
captaindad94 31 Jul @ 8:35am
it was working for me the other day but not anymore, something about the auto drilling i think,,also when you open the container for the rods, the rod mag disconnects and drops and no action on the get rod button.Strange it was working the other day
HandJabs 30 Jul @ 3:57pm
im confused what happens next when it lowers into the water
mines not doing anything
Умолешённый 26 Jul @ 4:00pm
Dear creator, your oil rig turned out very cool! But unfortunately, electric Furnaces cannot cope with heating oil, and diesel ones use a lot of fuel. I myself tried to add electric ovens, but unfortunately I cannot repeat your design.
MasonOwens681 23 Jul @ 9:11am
i think that the anchors have a max length of 149.99 so it wont connect in some oil hotspots
Child Soldier 18 Jul @ 7:15pm
Refinery doesnt work
Commander 17 Jul @ 3:18pm
hello, i'
m having some troubles with the system the picks up the rods for me it got stuck because of the shelf with rods and i cant find a way to get it out
KisielU 12 Jul @ 12:59pm
Great job man
Pigeon 11 Jul @ 4:49pm
this is kinda great but man i hate autonomus processes with no override... if one thing fucks up, everything fucks up, ive wasted too much time
Whack_AL  [author] 10 Jul @ 1:49pm
You should be able to get to the top of the derrick. the lower set of ladders is by the slurry tanks behind the life boats
Panerkraft 9 Jul @ 7:29pm
any way i can get the grantry to let go of the rod? Its stuck after a rogue wave and wont let go so i can just toss the stuck rod
tacteams 7 Jul @ 5:43pm
what he means is don't sell it off as your own workshop model to discredit him.
Hamburber 6 Jul @ 9:40am
this is way too sick
leon 6 Jul @ 8:29am
my proudest nut
Anton6123 3 Jul @ 12:48pm
The ready for new rod light doesnt glow. The slurry is turned on,
mr_yay_2 1 Jul @ 3:08pm
ok thank you
Whack_AL  [author] 1 Jul @ 2:29pm
Control room, Turn the furnaces on to heat the oil and the refinery button will unlock when it gets to temp around 315 ish, it goes past 300 to make sure there is not oil getting pushed through.
mr_yay_2 1 Jul @ 10:55am
were are the refinery pumps?
RilesisRad 29 Jun @ 6:34pm
Every time I try to drill the drill pipe disconnects from the well-head is there a way to fix this?
Domsderspartaner 29 Jun @ 4:12pm
Sadly capsizes easily
RilesisRad 29 Jun @ 3:50pm
How do I tow it to a different area using a tugboat?
forgottenroblox 29 Jun @ 10:53am
I don't understand why the well goes deeper than the anchors
RilesisRad 28 Jun @ 3:13pm
Crossfit_jesus, I don't expect you to accept but, You deserve my friend request
JonuksLTU 28 Jun @ 11:29am
Is there a scuttle button anywhere?
Rodoggx 28 Jun @ 6:41am
When the first set of rods is used and the assembly starts using the second rack, the entire assembly stops. Is there something I'm messing up?
Whack_AL  [author] 28 Jun @ 3:56am
Then dont use medium waves
MrChlorinated 27 Jun @ 2:58pm
Flips over every time in medium sized waves.
Jim the Pilot 27 Jun @ 12:59pm
by far the best oil rig i use
crossfit_jesus 26 Jun @ 7:36pm
@Fritz I'm building the Beira D right now actually. I posted the progress on reddit a month or so ago.
RilesisRad 25 Jun @ 12:57pm
Also that would take actual years to finish
RilesisRad 25 Jun @ 12:57pm
That would be too big probably, considering you can enter the legs and it goes down so far it looks bottomless, I personally think you would have to get the "deeper oceans" mod for something like that.
