@r055co - there is a work around for that. the exit of the sluice can only be placed toward an open area. you can see if the wall could be placed on an edge of a cliff, if it is green, then the open part of that edge is the downstream direction of the sluice. just make sure there is one open side and it is easy peasy.

very useful mod, only negative is you can't tell which direction to place. Work around is I'll save game, place the sluice then if it's the wrong direction reload the game.

The only issue is that, until you build a sluice, will have a huge leak if water level is above the tunnel. That's this mod, to have sluice built right away.

You can already do this. You just make the tunnel, destroy the platform, then build the sluice. No mod required.

Fair enough, I was thinking about drainage tunnels going off the edge of the map where this would be the last 2 tiles! I'll just have to rethink my builds!

codeless it's imposible. Indeed, it's intended that sluicec to be at the end of a tunnel to work

Would it be possible to make this mod so that if you are building a big drainage tunnel, you could clear both blocks in the direction of the flow (1x2 building), otherwise you have to clear the path in front before you can build a sluice, almost making this redundant unless it's at the end of the tunnel with a space!
