Hi @Arresvay! Love the questions, thank you! Short answer: it was the least intrusive, most thematically consistent way to add Kanos to both official maps & a random purchase had complexity and future extensibility.
Long answer: this was the least intrusive way to place Kanos in EL and Siptah short of a second tavern merchant. Thematically Kanos fits right in with the Westwall Prison and Anzu is the closest vendor. Feathers can be farmed so it was a fair trade off. The design of it had consistency and blended right in, so I took this route.
Originally I created a merchant to sell all my favorite thralls, and had an early version of Kanos like this, but decided IMO buying thralls was the least interesting way to get thralls in CE. This decision led to the Heroic Thralls mod and Kanos had only two rare thralls. The random chance makes the purchase more complex and more interesting. It was also a familiar model used in CE, and is easy to extend with more rare thralls in the future.

So, what was the reason to replace Anzu, wouldn't it be more awesome to have both of them? And maybe only put the thralls added by this mod on Kanos?

Hey @wyvern350, wow .. that was a lot of purchases! Luck was with you when you ran your first level 10 purge and got both valkyries :steamhappy: but it seems Kanos was not having it. If I recall correctly its ~21-34K gold on average to get both Sovi and Baelron, and that tracks so far with my experience. Could be I just have been lucky, hah!

A mercy counter would def be nice. I might consider increasing the odds of a rare in this case before trying to take that on, just because the difference in effort is night and day for me. Its always something I'm thinking about. If I add new rares here I will certainly increase the %-chance because with another two thralls, the expense goes way up. Really appreciate you sharing your ideas and observations with this!

And another question. In the pictures above, it looks like Sovi is wearing a hyperborean slaver waistguard and tasset, boots, and gloves from the normal heavy set, and Baelron is wearing full Silent Legion light minus the helmet? Forgot to ask about these two when I asked about everyone else over in the Heroic Thralls comments. :)

Some brief stats, or "Why RNG Hates Me" - I made 100 purchases of the either M/F option, 14,000 gold - no rare, I switched to F only and after 20 I got Sovi, 3,400 gold - 1 rare, I switched to M only and after 460 purchases I finally got Baelron, 57,800 gold - 1 rare. A total of 75,200 gold to get both rares. I will concede that I might have just been really unlucky, but maybe some sort of mercy system that increases the chance after so many purchases? I admit I have no idea how the backend programming for this game works or if such a thing would even be possible. (I was admin spawning gold, clearly. LOL)

Oh, nice, and thanks for sharing about that @Nixtut! Awesome to hear from a CE veteran - I'm jealous of the t-shirt! I must have done three dozen purges or more in the past several weeks between testing and then playing Valkyrie after release. Most of that was on Siptah too where I did not have an indoor base to protect from meteors. I learned another thing or two for solo-ing the level 10 purge, so if you get stuck or frustrated and want any tips, pls let me know.

As for this mod, Sovi and Baelron can really help with purge defense. With food leveling and rebirth elixers to optimize their perks, my latest two are in the 6K health range unbuffed, and I use them with 4x berserkers to manage purge defense. Hope the RNG is kind to you and you have a great time =)

I am a solo/SP on here, so I like to look for things that will help me progress to the next thing. This and the Valkyrie mod are ones I wanted to throw on here for more challenge. I've only done a lvl 8 purge and it was difficult for me, but I also have been looking, and my comp was terrible, my strat was awful, but my CimZerks were able to butter through things.

I'm working on a base now to be invaded. I want it without a serving of cheese, too! Thanks and I'm sorry it took a minute to get back to you.
CE has come a long way since I started. I still have the T-shirt from playing this when they first fired it up!

Hi @Nixtut, this mod replaces one merchant from the EL/Siptah maps. The load order shouldn't matter unless you have another mod that replaces merchants, in which case just move this mod towards the bottom. As I understand it, if two mods replace the same thing in game, generally the last loaded mod to replace that thing wins.

Hi @Nifter71, thank you for the comment! Yes, it is possible. Merchant_M1 was replaced by Kanos, so try spawning Merchant_M1.

Big fan of this and your other Conan exile mod, got them all! Wish there was an option to change the gold cost as 150 gold coin for such a good thrall is a bit generous depending on server settings. Thank you for your hard work :)

Not sure, I have not tried vam yet. I expect that if you are in Exiled Lands, and bought thralls from Zeina or Weeba, they would have same or similar behavior, since the interface and system used is the same.

So, possibly a bug but a silly one. The reformed prisoners for some reason go into the vam mod metal storage. Doesn't break anything or cause issues, just amusing.

Hey @Nimn, thanks for the encouragement and sharing your thoughts here! Yeah, right now anyway, it is just fighter thralls by design. Since Prisoner thralls in game are fighters, for this I made the Reformed Prisoners also fighters.

No bugs, 50 purchases or so to get that 1% lucky, i feel the only things i can say is awesome work and it totally needs a random thrall type or more options beyond fighters. Unless that's a bug, all i get is fighters. Epic work. Nobody needs a guy that sells feathers anyway with vulture nests not that far away.
