I've played around with the mod a little but I don't know how to do it or where to start. Thanks!
The original authors said the mods should work fine with year 200 as well.
MOH and EP campaigns will have issues which i believe is years 184 and 270
Glad to see you found something that works! Maybe down the line I can explore separating some stuff out so players can choose what they want a bit more but for now there is some having to choose what's more important to them.
Not ideal but modding can be quite daunting and im trying to learn more about optimizing things right now. Have fun!!
If that's the case, I would say you probably have two options. Either choose this collection with the updated portraits and no generics OR you can see my other collection below that uses vanilla portraits but has generics spawning in:

If you are desperate and really need the vanilla portraits plus no generics, your best bet is to follow that collection above but replace Inter Objects: Gathering heroes mod with my own mod: Historical Heroes, no generic generals mod.
It should work fine minus that characters will not spawn in as quickly using the original TROM + TUP mods.

If possible, I'm hoping to avoid using generic portraits while still using the Puzzle and MTU illustrations but keep the original art for the characters who have art. Sounds like this might not be possible?
In those 3 parts, i edited spawn tables that allow historical generals to fill the world out a little earlier.
I believe part 2 of TROM + TUP alters most if not all portraits.
My recommendation if you want to use this collection but the original portraits would be to either switch over to the other ROTK collection I uploaded that uses generic portraits and most of the original TROM + TUP components are still there OR
You could try still using this collection and just subscribe to the original authors Part 1, 2, and 4.
If you swap out part 2, you will need to also swap part 1 for sure and possibly part 4. The reason is, i edited CEO data on parts 1 & 2 to change the salary for titles.
I hope that makes sense and helps. I wont be uploading any more varieties of TROM + TUP out of respect to the original authors so i hope you can find a pairing that works best for you
The work seems never done and a lot of what I've learned to do has come from seeing how other mod. So i owe a great deal to other mod authors.
The Politics lite mod is one of those mods where i wanted to make the mechanic matter but not decide the trajectory of the player faction. I do feel proud of where that one is at. It might need some final tweaks but everything minus construction cost is much more reasonable.
I hope you get the chance to upgrade your pc down the line but I am very glad you can enjoy the game with just a few tweaks and mods like removing campaign clouds.
If you see any bugs, particularly with the TUP + TROM mod, feel free to drop a comment and keep winning wars friend :)
I have an older pc and I've used for years a mod "Kelstr's Remove Campaign Clouds" which is a huge help with a weaker GPU. I can keep higher settings with lower temps. Just a shoutout I guess, maybe someone will need it in the future.
I look forward to trying your new Politics Lite mod, the original had so many effects, I found it scary and removed it, hehe. Having to keep tabs of all those negatives as well as the bonuses was too serious for my casual self :D
Thank you! If there is any way i can fix the Shi Xie crash or the concealed snake unit crash, ill try. Im not exactly an expert with modding yet but i have the passion for this game.
I looked at all the tables for about 2 hours yesterday and I made progress but i haven't found the culprit yet as to the unit crash.
For the Shi Xie crash can you describe what happened more? Is it appointing a general as chancellor causing the crash? I think someone mentioned this crash before and I never really looked into it yet.
I dunno if it's a placebo effect but your version of TROM+TUP seems to run better on my system than the original? Using the original TROM+TUP mod i'd get fps drops when I fight large battles like 3+ stack armies but I haven't noticed that issue with your version.
I might subscribe to the Hecleas Overhaul and play around. Just by looking at how the Ai is modfiied, i can see why Hecleas overhaul would not work with this collection.
With that though, it doesn't mean i couldn't try and combine the TUP part with a Hecleas overhaul. I would just need his permission and to put a lot of work into it.
Im still very raw with modding. Most of my works are seeing how others mod then finding a baseline and making it my own. Half the time i have to request permission due to re use of certain assets lol.

TROM + TUP is not perfect as a baseline but neither is my works and those authors did such an amazing job creating such a unique experience. TROM+TUP is such a huge overhaul that those authors had their work cut out for them and me editing their stuff has been a huge learning experience.
That said i have made it to 100 turns, 80 turns and had no issues. My current campaign made it to 50 turns and i did have a crash but was able to work around it. After replaying the crash over and over, i believe there is a bug with a unit but im looking into it.
Sounds like you are having fun though which I am happy to hear! If you see any issues such as a crash when using OR battling a unit called the "concealed snakes" let me know. As soon as i removed that unit, my crash went away on my play-through.
Mods I noticed don't work or cause a CTD
-> RMK - A Girl Worth Fighting For
-> Hecleas Animation Overhaul
-> Imperial favor nerfed
-> Spectacular and Epic Battles & Duels
Also if you want to play Shi Xie trying to enter the Court will cause a CTD which is a bug I noticed in the original TROM as well.
