You have to subscribe to both for it to work in the first place.
So instead of simply making it no background, there has to be background that doesn't fit any artstyle of the game. Haven't subscribed to either but I already know which one not to subscribe.

"was sent to to the depths of Hell" is a bit immersion breaking. How about something more neutral like "fell out of the historical record" or "fell out of relevancy"?

Invoking THE Hell wouldn't make sense if you're playing a religion that doesn't even have at as a concept (of which there are many in the game)
