Would be cool if this got an update which optimizes the fire particles from Dead Center. It lags me out a fucking ton when I'm playing that map because of the fire particles and the smoke particles loading in all at once.

this addon conflicts with other addons that change fire, I wish it would change fire too

Okay, I don't think this is an issue in Optimized Particles. Here's a demo recording of the pool left by a spitter when they died, recorded both with and without the mod, and overlaid in my video editor: https://youtu.be/AyWNpn-jIe4

I did some more testing and it looks like some dead spitter pools have an invisible 'spur' that extends out past the particles in a single direction that will still hurt you even though you're not near the visible spit. Pretty sure this is just a Valve issue.

Wait, I lied, there's totally a problem with the smaller spit pools left by spitters when they die. Looking into it now.

Just played a round of TLS in singleplayer, and it still works about as expected. I kept wandering near the edges of spit puddles, and never noticed damage when I wasn't very close to one of the green blobs.

If you experience invisible spit, please look up how to record a demo, record an instance of it happening to you, then post a comment here. I'll contact you to get a copy of the demo and take a look.

Nah im sorry its just that most of the mods when the update came out wasnt working so i just thought that this one wasnt working as well but it proably dont need updating

@Milansta: Vanilla game with lowest possible setting in the settings menu. No mods, no config IIRC.

Yeah, in the last chapter when you go down of the second clif, AND somethin that really will help me a LOT it is the water reflections, i can't play swamp fever because that, the campaing don't increase the fps from 10 xd.

Can you clean the whater effect? in campaing like cold steam really lags my pc when i see it, and also the weapons powder of the weapons when shoot? i don't know if you can do it.

@Penguin <3: Not really sure. I haven't touched this in 4 years, but if I recall correctly, it shoudl work on any server with a relatively relaxed sv_pure setting. If the Valve servers run restrictive settings, no, this won't work there, and you'll get the game's standard effects.

@Morty Not very. It's kinda tedious, and basically just involves sitting in the particle editor scrolling through the list of particle systems the game uses and deleting the emitters.

How complex is it to make a mod to remove fire and explosions??

Your mod helped a hell of a lot for some reason. When a spitter spit, i got a Disk usage spike to 100% for 2 seconds. This fixed that issue. Dunno why my PC is being weird. wish macs were ment for gaming. But, it is what it is. Turns out my PC was only utilizing 5% of its processor and memory. I moved it up to 75% max and min. Fixed the mega mob incoming crashes. Thanks again.

by the way i dropped about 75% of my mods.

My game all of the sudden started lagging on my widows 10 pc. I had 100 some mods and my PC pissed all over the game. no lag and 70 FPS. now it hangs up and crashes randomly. Usually on the spitter goo. but large hordes causes it aswell. I don't know why my game is now lagging like molasses on a cold winter day. Any help? Cause this seems to help just a bit.
