Goldobsidian 12 Nov, 2015 @ 7:36pm
Would love to see a DX11 update and possibly some other designs/version for large ships/stations ^.^
DeRavi 12 Oct, 2015 @ 3:10pm
Just commenting so ill get the comment update if someone makes this dx11, unsubbing for now. Great mod though!
Pharap 29 Jul, 2015 @ 8:53pm
They are colourful and well modelled. The only issue is that they are massive.
gripenblau 29 May, 2015 @ 9:44am
gone do DX11? Like your mod :)
Tiger 4 Apr, 2015 @ 5:16pm
I also expected these to be MUCH smaller... like the size of a typical interior light, rather than a pair of spotlights with a thick tube between them.

It also failed to change color or emit light like in any of the screenshots. :(
PsiQss 1 Mar, 2015 @ 2:46pm
Well I fell in love with them the moment I saw the screenshot!
But when I actually placed them in game.. well I'll just say I expected them to be smaller. Much MUCH smaller. Like, 5 times smaller, at least. You know, so we could have a cool glowing edge on the blocks.

Don't get me wrong, they still look cool, they're just not good for the purpose I had for them :P I guess they could work on a large ship maybe? Anyways, if you could make a much smaller version of these, It'd be amazing :)
737✈Garrus 1 Mar, 2015 @ 11:39am
REALLY NICE! But can you make a neon that is 1x1x1 because i think it's a bit too big for my creations. I usually make ships out of small blocks to make more accurate detail and when i saw the size of the neon lights...

No offense! :)

suggestion: these are a great look in engine rooms, id suggest rescaling these a in a few different ways with the same sort of glow (ie. 2 thin pipes, some sort of a fuel rod holder, power conduits)
Bedmonster 16 Jan, 2015 @ 10:03am
Hey! Would be awesome if you could add these to a Gmenu sections such as large blocks and small blocks. I also have several of your other mods for my server (love them!) and I notice you have the G menu sections seperate for each of your mods. Maybe make one section with your name in it, that all your mods go into instead?
p3st|cIdE 2 Dec, 2014 @ 11:42am
Super bright, which is great, but these are so ginormous! If there were way smaller variants (a lg ship version about same size as current small ship version, and a small ship version that's 1x1x2 or so... maybe 1x1x1! ) that would be way more useful.
cryptkeeper_00769 1 Dec, 2014 @ 8:51am
love em( if they could get lights to work right) but they are SUPER huge for large ship/station, any plans to make em a bit on the smaller side?
Mikey Koontz 30 Nov, 2014 @ 9:55am
@ UncleSte,
Ok, that's unfortunate. I'll keep them in, maybe it'll work better. Keep up the great modmaking, love the adjusted doors!
UncleSte  [author] 27 Nov, 2014 @ 12:57pm
@M1k3y Koontz: the last two game updates seem to have really impacted the visual appearance of these which is a damn shame. I'm hoping the devs fix some of the strange issues i'm seeing popping up since the bug fixing period started as well as some popular mods on the workshop as well as some of the stuff i was making getting totally broken because of new performance enhancements.

For now i'll just have to wait for a while until things settle and hope they can be fixed later. I have spoken to developers about a few issues but the outcome wasnt good :(.
Mikey Koontz 27 Nov, 2014 @ 6:04am
@UncleSte
I tried it in survival, but they don't seem to light up correctly. The tube didn't light up, and there seems to be more light on the other side of the wall than in the room I put them in.
UncleSte  [author] 23 Nov, 2014 @ 12:34pm
@M1k3y Koontz: They should work fine for survival, they have construction models done for them. Also i made sure all the build requirements on them are balanced. I will update description incase it is confusing people. Have you tried them in survival yet?
Mikey Koontz 23 Nov, 2014 @ 11:58am
Cool mod, I hope it works for survival soon. Would look great in my space station.
TheBoot 22 Nov, 2014 @ 3:28pm
I'm playing survival so no ctrl-c for me. I'm certainly not surprised if problems were caused by an update. It is still alpha after all. No big deal.
UncleSte  [author] 22 Nov, 2014 @ 3:12pm
@TheBoot: There Seem to be some issues since the last update, i'm having it with door pieces lights n all sorts when you load the world. Ctrl C on the ship/grid seems to fix it though.
TheBoot 22 Nov, 2014 @ 1:34pm
Central core is very dim even with very high settings on the light. Neon lights also seem to require a reload of your save to take effect. I've seen that with other mods though.

you perfect for disco house
UncleSte  [author] 19 Nov, 2014 @ 12:43am
@Arkham99:If the actual colour of the central part you want to be recolured even when the light is turned off for aesthetics, i can add in another version to the mod which includes the recolourable center if you want?
UncleSte  [author] 19 Nov, 2014 @ 12:33am
@Arkham99 everything has been tweaked and the central part lights up even better with the light colour now don't worry :).
mcborge 18 Nov, 2014 @ 11:54pm
makes ya ship look well wicked init geezer...
Arkham99 18 Nov, 2014 @ 4:47pm
Why did you remove the "recolouring texture from the central part of the neon light"? I was really hoping to use them as they're pictured here...:-)
PanzerFaust 17 Nov, 2014 @ 1:59pm
Chavtastic.
UncleSte  [author] 17 Nov, 2014 @ 4:54am
Update!: Removed recolouring texture from the central part of the neon light, also increased maximum intensity and boosted specular settings on the light. Hope this is better, let me know guys!

Amboba 17 Nov, 2014 @ 4:08am
Need one for big ship and longer, and if there will be even with tilt, will be cool.
TheAngrySquirrel 16 Nov, 2014 @ 4:22pm
I placed the block in the neutral grey the game starts you with, then painted it black, the change was rather obvious, especially since i'd already changed the light color to electric blue.
UncleSte  [author] 16 Nov, 2014 @ 1:41pm
@Ahoukenja: My bad i left a colour mask on the central part. I'll have a tinker with the specular settings and remove the colour mask tomorrow on the centre bit and see how it looks and try and patch in some improvements.

Cheers for spotting that :D
TheAngrySquirrel 16 Nov, 2014 @ 11:00am
UncleSte, a few thoughts: the way these are currently textured, if you color them it affects the way the light is handled, try retexturing the central section with a separate material, maybe a very light grey Phong with a specularity of 200 and glossiness of 75, this should make the central part stay whitish, and refract the light better, so you'll get a better 'glow' effect.
UncleSte  [author] 16 Nov, 2014 @ 7:12am
Hey guys, glad you like the new neons :D. I am going to add a version for large ships, i tried it with the same settings, textures etc as i used on the small version but the lights didnt turn out as well as the small.

I'll try tinkering with it and see if i can get some better results and ill add it in. Offsets arent a problem i can sort those out.

I'll also try out some curves and see how the lighting turns out on them.

HAHAHAHA UncleSte is hilarious, and this is a nice fluorescent light block! I'm curious if UncleSte will add an offset block, so i can mount them along the corners of my hallways (Two mounted parallel in the corner of ceiling, and a single offset, for wider surfaces)? Also, ulfsark9 and Q_meets_the_doctor's ideas; large ship versions, plus maybe some curved lights, to round out the blockset?
Nioreux 15 Nov, 2014 @ 5:04pm
intresing concept
Ulfsark 15 Nov, 2014 @ 1:52pm
Can you make these for large ships/stations? And I second Q, right angled, curved, intersections please ;)
Q_meets_the_doctor 15 Nov, 2014 @ 1:23pm
how about curved and right angle neon lights
not7CD 15 Nov, 2014 @ 10:32am
Nice one
Neonin 15 Nov, 2014 @ 10:29am
Another great addition! Now I can add this to my phat wheels and piston suspension system and cruise around the streets in style... ;)
xpgx1 15 Nov, 2014 @ 9:34am
WHAT? I want my speaker system! *G*
UncleSte  [author] 15 Nov, 2014 @ 8:49am
Cheers guys :)
