I don't think I'll make the pictures take you anywhere just yet (if anything I'd make the chapters/games their own separate map!).
My suggestion would be to make the levels parallel with no overhang horizontally so it could copy the real game in the sense you only go side to side/up and down.
My biggest want would be to see the pictures take you to those areas or have the actual machine take you places. That is probably a huge undertaking so I only bring it up as an eager fan.
The outside area is disconcerting to me and artifacts in the distance are fitting. I would not spend any time out there in game or real life as it makes me feel tiny. Haha.
If nothing changes it is still a good map. If you make any changes I will be excited to see them. This map was completely unexpected and a nice little treat while we wait for Daymare to re-release.
- map textures look cool and there's some visually interesting stuff
- map generally feels pretty sparse, most rooms and corridors kinda feel empty, maybe they're just too wide or whatever idk
- map navigation kinda feels too straightforward, there's basically no flanking opportunities from what i've seen, makes fights feel too samey
- the outside area looks cool but is not too interesting otherwise, there's like zero cover there
- there's a ladder that looks like you can use but it's blocked off at the top for some reason
- i think the map has potential if it's made to feel denser, though i'm aware this was mostly made as a recreation of a map from some game
I notice that sometimes an alternative area opens up that adds in a higher vantage spot, which gives additional options for Traitors, but when this area isn't opened up it is downright miserable to play.
As for people flocking to one area: that's what happens on most maps no?
If you don't want people flocking to each other in a certain area you could always go play skyscraper instead!
Navigating around the map also feels horrible if you're not playing with some kind of sprint mod installed.
Gameplay on the map feels rather dull as well, people generally flock to the one "Outside" area with the floating platforms, or the one hallway area with the forklift. There's not much landmarks or stuff to look at, and gunfights are basically just spraying down hallways.
