I played with Diamonds on the current version until I unlocked all 32 guild challenges. Funnest mod hands down. Switched to Prestige Mode to unlock the rest of the achievements, and it bugged the mod. With the version I was playing, you'd take your Engineer and fly over the number 1 through 10, then select it with your character, to indicate how much you wanted per layer. Now I have to choose a number of diamonds per layer on the title screen, but the number is stuck at 3!

Please fix. I see another person mentioning this back in May - I can concur, it simply "disappeared," and the only way to get something kind of like it back: is title screen version where you cannot select 10, it is stuck at 3.

To the author, (or anyone who wants to clone the mod if the author gave up on it): I would be willing to buy you ANY game on Steam you want, and gift it you, absolutely free. Any Deluxe version, any game at all. Fix this mod, and I'll gift you a game. Just name it.

Its not working for me. i tried uninstalling but the diamonds arent loading into my maps no matter the amount i choose.

normally upgrades have the first letter in the word be uppercase (i.e Drill Strength 1, Monster Buster 1, Battle Grid, etc.), diamond upgrades do not share this consistency. (i.e Diamond engineer, Diamond artillery, Diamond droneyard, etc.) also in the case of the missile launcher gadget, it's diamond upgrade name is "Diamond rocket launcher", despite its gadget name.

these aren't large problems, i can live if they aren't or cant be fixed, just thought i'd mention it.

The mod_hooks.zip is a file that only gets created when you have mods loaded and only for the mods. It won't impact the base game at all
Also, comparing DK to Minecraft is very unfair, the difference of community size is absurdly big, DK modders are less than 10, so we do not have enough work power to have a proper external mod tool to manage properly mods/a website for it/better dependencies and such
Also a reminder that all modders do their mods for fun, and for free, on their free time

yknow i do mod games like minecraft, but i use a modloader (like modrinth) because i do NOT want to mess with files cause if something breaks i might be cooked.

I recommend trying to delete the mod_hooks zip file at the root of the game, then restarting the game to see if that fixes it

having the same issue where the splash screen appears, then the game closes. please fix this, or tell me if theres a specific cause for this that i can fix on my end.

That's a bit weird, there isn't any change that happened recently to the game and the mod.. I feel like it might be something going on with corrupted save files but due to a collision between mods, and the sad part is that I removed the separate save logic due to people complain

My only suggestion is either try to rollback to an older save file or jump in the discord, give me your safe file so I can investigate better

Suddenly stopped working! I disabled ALL other mods except this one, and i still can't see diamonds, worked before though :(

Removed the whole system logic, I guess if a file is corrupted when removing the diamond mod the rolling save file system is there for that

Guys, why do Ive problems with files with this mod? I mean, saving is constantly reset after restarting the game. It's sad cuz Ive already lost quite a few saves several times. Just need a explain

@Arrcival I understand where you're coming from, I guess I just don't see the issue for a non-competitive, solo game, and I think most people using the mod will be surprised to find their progress and skins lost when (hopefully far in the future) you lose interest in maintaining the mod and they are forced to stop using it. It seems to me that Prestige Mode is the only part I would consider sacrosanct, but after all, it is your mod to do with as you please, I'm only making suggestions from another point of view.

This was mostly due to separate progression, as the diamonds mod is literally a "cheat mod" as it makes RH and GAs way easier (and yeah, to also avoid the mid-run issue jumping from with to without mods)
It suddenly become touchy/irrititating for people due to the new save changesn but it should have been fixed since yesterday, unless I did something poorly

I understand the need for a separate "mid-run" type save because you have to keep track of the collected diamonds and diamond upgrades. But a separate main save seems to be asking for just the type of trouble that this update caused. I haven't tried to mod this particular game so I don't know if you did this because of some technical limitation regarding the mid-run type saves, but I would propose for consideration:

A) don't fork the main full save file, only use special diamond saves for mid-run type saves (I think this is cleaner).
OR
B) continue with the forked main save, but whenever the diamond full save becomes identical to a normal full save (e.g. when completing a run), save it as a normal full save also.

Is it really necessary for this mod to fork the main save file? After the 4.2.2 update, even after this mod was updated, I lost my progress on anything gained since originally installing the mod. To get that back, I had to pull in an older diamond save file from a personal backup and rename it as a regular save file, which allowed me to regain my progress whether or not the diamond mod was installed.

Which is like, fine, I can do that, but not everybody is going to have such a backup, or know they need to do that, or even know how to do that. And the fact that I even CAN do that implies there's no substantial difference in the main save file after forking it.

love this mod! this mod got me through the worst of the challenges. I'll admit to not knowing how anyone completes the hardest ones without a few extra diamonds in their pockets. thanks!

Sadly with the last update this mod create a problem with the savegame and erase it, when you delete the mod the savegame is restored.

Really enjoying this mod. I've noticed a bug with the diamond resources (to my eyes they look like onions XD) where they commonly become 'inactive' - in this state, I cannot pick them up and neither can the drones. They still interact with gravity. The only way to salvage inactive diamonds is with the resource packer, as long as there are at least two of them (or you bring other resources close enough to pack with them). I've encountered this with Engineer, both Relic Hunt and Challenge modes.

i really enjoy this mod, depending on what you set the amount of diamonds or how you spend them you can push the game in creative ways, would recommend

Update to comment below: When I disabled ALL other mods (which, as I stated, were only the dependency mod and the one to speed up grinding of resources), this mod began to work. The selection box around my chosen number remained, and I found diamonds within like 5 seconds of starting my run. Hope this info helps.

@Diggerollo: I set them to 5 and didn't find any before losing the run. Afterwards I opted to see the map and reveal resources and none were to be found anywhere on the map. Something is broken.

@Arrcival: This appears to be broken. I was using the mod to speed up grinding resources, and the dependency mod, only. All of which stated they were compatible with the latest version of the game. I'm not sure what is going wrong. The only other thing I noticed is that once I selected how many diamonds per row I wanted in the main menu, it didn't seem to stick. What I mean by that is that the selection border flashed around the number I had chosen, but didn't remain visible after.

@Dishwasher Prime:They're variable. You can set them from (I believe the minimum is)0 up to 10 "nodes" per area. Depending on map size and desired effect, you may want to consider bumping the spawn rate up from the default 3.

@Arrcival This is a great mod! I've been using it since early v3 and oh my gosh you're right with it breaking the balance quickly! I find it most enjoyable for quicker runs that I want to really get the feeling of "I'm not stuck in here with you, you're stuck in here with me." Thank you for all the work you've already put into this, and the work you continue to do to make it a great mod!
