In the meantime, try the simfphys toolgun and tune to your heart's content
N64 ripping model methods are apparently quite robust so I would recommend looking into that. you only need a basic knowledge of the blender interface, some time, and the ability to follow instructions to achieve something like this addon (especially if you're only interested in porting a couple models).
