Give a list of crafting recipes, these pictures on steam are useless. I can only make cured meat with 60 pork and 5 salt. I have beef, i have other types of meat.
Faroostar 18 Aug @ 11:42pm

What do salt rocks count as in terms of foraging focus? Stones?
Mushroom-R 10 Aug @ 4:35am
@化け物, Don't you need a small pan, not a big pot?
化け物 10 Aug @ 4:28am
The flat-bottomed cooking pot produced by forging cannot be used to make jam.
化け物 8 Aug @ 10:55pm
Can fruits other than berries be used to make jam? For example, strawberries.
Mushroom-R 5 Aug @ 4:04am
I cant seem to cook any of these recipes, let alone see them. Am I doing something wrong. I suck at this game and especially cooking btw.
Phil 5 Aug @ 2:45am
Amazing mod! Thank you!

Any plans to make Rabbit/Raccoon meat also supported?
Alex_1203 3 Aug @ 2:17am
Lard from pork is very unbalance, in build 42.
I butcherd 4 pigs and made 9 lards - each have 4095 calories = 36000 calories :O
GrouchPotato614 1 Aug @ 2:59pm
I am a little confused as it lets me cure meat but just one, when I go into the crafting menu it says something like 18/60 uses and I have a lot of meat in my inventory (and salt) so not sure why I can only cure 1 meat
Hawken 30 Jul @ 7:11pm
b41?
fabiotcm 29 Jul @ 7:46am
Pemmican only gets 3 months until rotten and 350 calories. Not worth it. I used far more calories than that to make it.

The mod doesn't work. It doesn't matter what type of meat I have — whether it's fresh, frozen, spoiling, or spoiled — whether it's in my inventory or not, near an oven or a campfire. The mod just doesn't work, with salt our not.

маслина фактит
маслина 7 Jul @ 4:26am
Jorby 6 Jul @ 3:47am
where can i find those salt rocks? i been foraging and found nothing
Rainstone 22 Jun @ 2:55am
I hope different meats added in b42(steaks, pork chops, chickens, rabbit meats, small animal/bird meats)can also be cured and jarred
jjbrickboy 2 Jun @ 8:13pm
Steaks should definitely get some functionality with this mod. Most butchering gives you a 1 to 1 ish ratio of steaks to beef cuts so it would only make sense that you can cure or preserve steaks too.

After removing that OnTest line from the recipe, I was finally able to make some Lard. However, the recipe took 1 hunger from the piece of pork (in this particular case, 1/21 of a 90 calorie, 0.17enc cut of pork) and turned it into a 24 hunger, 4100 calorie, 0.3 enc bar of Lard. Need to change the recipe to require a much higher item count of Pork. I'd guess 30-60. Either that or you need to add "flags[ItemCount]" so the recipe will use an entire cut of port. But the higher item value is likely more realistic.
ctiberious 1 Jun @ 10:31am
Went out and butchered a pig. Got plenty of various cuts (Poor, Average & Prime) of Pork and Pork Chops. Went to try and make Lard from the Pork but it refused to recognize any of the cuts as valid pork for the recipe. Not sure what it's for, but part of the recipe includes "onTest = TryMeatLard," which is apparently what causes the butchered meat from being valid for the recipe.
Also, you can only use a regular saucepan. If you have a copper saucepan, the recipe won't see that as a valid option.

i had 4 jars of meat and then one day they all disappeared ;w; they got replaced with extra jars filled with water (but not the lids lmao) - cured meat works fine tho but all that wasted salt and vinegar orz i love this mod anyway
Clam Chowderメ 25 May @ 12:35pm
does it only work for certain meat?
Aberro 24 May @ 6:29am
Pemmican, 4 months? That's some really poor pemmican. A proper pemmican could last a decade, and it should be at least one year. Canned meat 6 month? Again, way too short. Given the lid holds, it should be 5 years.

I've had the same problem as Lamplighter, a major problem this mod has with my run is that im starting from primitive and am not looting canned food/other food stuffs, and while this mod is amazing to help with food preserving without power, losing very precious calories to prevent weight loss while trying to keep a food stock is harsh. Hopefully it's patched or resolved soon
Lamplighter 16 May @ 1:06am
When I used the salting method on a big fish filet (81 Hunger 8500 calories) it took 60 of the hunger rating off of the the fish, didn't take any of the calories, and the salted fish only had 420ish calories. When I dried it in the oven, the already small calorie count got cut in half. When I tried canning a filet (21 Hunger 2500 calories) it consumed the whole fish, all 30 units of my vegetable oil and only gave me a can worth 370 calories. I get the idea of losing some of the nutritional value in the preservation process, but this seems more like a bug to me.
SPEEDWAGON 15 May @ 2:54am
Does this mod work with an existing save? I don't see any new recipes
ZorTheCruel 9 May @ 9:05pm
@Blagden You can make your own jars from scratch using the glassmaking skill, make your own lids using metalworking (blacksmithing) the only hard thing to find is the sugar/vinegar for jarring.
OxTailSafu 8 May @ 9:28am
Put meat in a jar doesn't seem to consume the jar in the recipe, although it does consume the lid.
bdrakey1 6 May @ 11:14pm
is this compatible with saphs cooking?
Razor SKINS 4 May @ 7:11pm
More meat to add salt like Bunny and Chicken!
Sweet Melk 27 Apr @ 4:37pm
is there any mod like this for build 41?
Blagden 27 Apr @ 1:41pm
Thank you for this one, now I just need to find a good source of jars...
Skittles  [author] 25 Apr @ 12:00pm
Sadly no B41 as devs changed a decent amount of how modding works, and I only learned on B42
Franktanker0 24 Apr @ 9:51pm
is there a build 41 version? i heard good things from a friend that plays on b42 but i prefer to play on the stable version
vengos 24 Apr @ 9:25pm
Thank a lot! Would be nice to add the new chicken farming stuff. Chicken meat preservation and pickled eggs. I 've hundreds of them and they mainly go to compost.
Skittles  [author] 24 Apr @ 7:36pm
Yeah lmao it was an hdd I had for 7+ years, should've bought one sooner but didnt and paid the price
Lazy Invincible General 24 Apr @ 5:13pm
sorry about my comment, nice to know it wasn't abandoned, hope your (i'm assuming new) hard drive lasts a long time and that college gets a bit easier on ya
Skittles  [author] 24 Apr @ 2:25pm
Also added DE and ES translations thank you to those translators
Skittles  [author] 24 Apr @ 2:25pm
Update out, shouldn't be any more duplication? If any items are still not being fully consumed let me know but I think I got them all
Rusty #DopeRust 24 Apr @ 1:37pm
@Skittles, glad to have you back, patiently awaiting for the update.
Skittles  [author] 24 Apr @ 1:06pm
Sorry for ghosting everyone college has been busy and my hard drive with the mod on it died. Working on fix now expect update later today
Lazy Invincible General 23 Apr @ 10:03pm
honestly just use a different mod that does this since I don't think the guy who made it is going to fix it
Kwasi007 23 Apr @ 9:32pm
When i cure Deer meat it doubles it Any way to fix
rafinhA 20 Apr @ 1:53pm
bug: When I approach the bench to use the salt and cure the fish meat, I perform the action and the meat doubles (falling to the floor), I made infinite meats this way. Is there a way to fix it?
vengos 20 Apr @ 9:11am
Great work! But it does have a major bug-exploit. When you cure or jar fish fillet it doesnt consume the fillet! Thanks a lot!
Rypsiispinblockz 20 Apr @ 3:14am
Love love love
UwU 16 Apr @ 8:05am
With 6 pork meat I can make 67 cured meat >.>
Lazy Invincible General 14 Apr @ 7:18pm
curing fish dupes the fish btw, ended up with 8 things of cured fish and still had the original 2 uncured fillets
OxTailSafu 14 Apr @ 1:07pm
There definitely appears to be some imbalances with this mod atm. Not only with the food duplications, but I can make so much mashed berries that give 30 hunger reduction each while only using 4 hunger units from the berries themselves.
magond 13 Apr @ 9:23pm
The recipe for salting meat leaves the original piece of meat intact. So you can make an endless amount of salted meat, as long as there is enough salt.
