Stainless steel isn't airtight, found out the hard way :p
Merculin 29 Aug @ 2:28pm
how about making a monasstic faction, writing all these books and being the reason for abandoned libraries? Idk how hard that is but maybe, if you play with biotech and have a kid reaching the age of 9, u get the quest of sending your kid to them for 3 years and when it comes back its perfectly educated
i rly love this idea but idk how to make mods myself :I

Looks like Civil Settlers do, at least. If you want any value out of these, you're gonna have to go caravanning- traveling trade caravans aren't interested; only settlements are.
Anker 24 Aug @ 8:20pm
Does *anyone* buy ruined books, or does the higher price on excellent and legendary ones exist purely to bait players into inflating their wealth? I don't think I've ever seen a trader interested in them.
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 24 Aug @ 11:51am
That's to be expected
Perdak under attack 24 Aug @ 11:50am
When i make a copy of stainless steel object (bed for example) i couldn't build it, because i don't have stainless steel in warehouse
Chronos 21 Aug @ 12:32pm
Wanted to come on here to mention how the midas touch book is overpowered, but then got raided by like 30 imperial deserters.. fair play!
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 20 Aug @ 8:12am
No, it isn't craftable
Nugut 20 Aug @ 7:25am
Where do you craft stainless steel i can't seem to find it on any crafting station? As the book mentioned you can also make it

v2.02:

- Fixed stainless steel and durathread changing the health of items and builtings and making them unfixable
Luv N Hugz |UwU| 18 Aug @ 5:18pm
So, can ONLY special books spawn in libraries? (No vanilla/dlc standard books).
snake 17 Aug @ 2:40pm
idk if its a bug but forcing someone to read for example the durathread book, the reading takes so much time that the pawn usually gets up to fulfill his needs like eating, thirst from dbh etc, making it close to impossible to actually make the pawn finish the book. i pulled it off before after like 10 times but now i cant seem to make it at all xdd
ThatFatGuyML 17 Aug @ 11:06am
having the same issue with stainless steel being damaged at crreation and unable to be repaired
Tokey 16 Aug @ 1:18pm
@Mercenary Have you figured out the mod conflict? I'm seeing the same thing without the star wars mods. Repairing works after reloading a save though.
ThatFatGuyML 10 Aug @ 9:01am
@mercenary funnily enough there was a reddit thread not long ago that showed Rimworld Mods were interacting weirdly with Kotor
JACK 7 Aug @ 7:10am
fwiw to you, had an idea for a book: "Ancient Lovin Manual" or something that functions similarly to durathread and stainless books, provides a permanent hediff that makes lovin more enjoyable for the partner (added moodlet). the implication being the reader has learned a technique etc from a karma sutra esque book
Irchrael 5 Aug @ 2:06pm
There's a problem with stainless steel items/buildings - when created, they start with 91% health.
Mercenary 3 Aug @ 4:13pm
Damn figures. I wonder if it is because of the SWTOR/KOTOR mods I downloaded as been having issues since then. Will have to try it in the next few days and see. Thanks for getting back to me
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 3 Aug @ 2:59pm
Just you, yeah
Mercenary 3 Aug @ 2:47pm
I don't know if I have a mod conflict somewhere but my pawns can't seem to repair anything made out of stainless steel. Can't even click for the option. Is this normal or just me?
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 2 Aug @ 9:22am
Can't even look into it till the 15th
Vermillion Cardinal 2 Aug @ 6:20am
Seconding swag's observation: doors and autodoors made out of stainless steel are not airtight at all. I've resorted to using RIMMsqol to give the material an airtight tag for the time being.
Goose 27 Jul @ 1:26pm
I found a fix for the "not finishing the book glitch." Switch the colonist schedule to recreation only. He'll read through the whole thing. I think it has to do with the pawn stopping to do work instead of prioritizing the book.
DeadLeaves 27 Jul @ 11:21am
For anyone who is running into the issue of books being put down after a bit rather than triggering. I don't what what causes it, but it seems to be a "needs" issue, where the pawn starts doing something else. I forced all needs to be satisfied, and the book triggered just fine.
Karol Nawrocki 26 Jul @ 12:32pm
stainless steel doors arent airtight but the regular steel doors are
Skullcrusher 22 Jul @ 6:37pm
for the random skill xp book, could you add a message saying what skill was leveled, also it took me a little under an entire season to realize that the ruined library i was at was an amung us.
[ACHR] Warner 21 Jul @ 3:03pm
@Doc they might be bored of reading as a recreation type. And if you have any other mods that alter recreation it can cause them to just not read the book even though its not a passive read. (Things like do rec when not busy and such). Had this happen in my last 1.5 playthrough and I got a new pawn to read the book.
Its also possible its something else, just offering a potential explanation.
Doc 21 Jul @ 12:00pm
Is there a prerequisite to the Chicken Book doing something or do I have a conflict I need to track down in my modlist? At the moment, attempts to read it by colonists lead to them immediately putting it back down.
Mr. Hunter 18 Jul @ 3:13pm
Is there anyway we can land our ships at the library? I rather not make a caravan and have all my pawns get miserable.
Vesti 17 Jul @ 3:42am
This is a great mod, it fits especially well into the concept of the new dls. It's a pity that you can't land your ship at the library.
Tommy高富帅 11 Jul @ 2:12pm
WOW.

This one is made by u as well! Jajajja. Btw, have you given a thought about the upgrade of Smart Speed I put together, wanna implement it? :o

Btw, I am very much aware I can change the values conveniently in the mod menu, but the default seems way too high (low). Too many abandoned libraries I feel like.

As always, thank you, love you. :girlhand::girlhand::girlhand:

v2.01:

- Added two new books:
- Tynan's Book will provide experience points in a random skill, regardless of passion in it. Amount of experience varies between 5000 and 100000 depending on quality.
- The Lusty Saurid Maid will provide boosts to negative and positive thought durations as well as MTB lovin' factor.
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 30 Jun @ 10:25pm
That's not a conflict at all
moo 30 Jun @ 10:08pm
There is a soft mod conflict between this and Expanded Materials - Metals. Two types of Stainless Steel
Jabberwocky887 28 Jun @ 4:53pm
RIP. Thanks.
The Moustache 27 Jun @ 9:59pm
@Jabber it's a mod conflict, don't remember which mod is causing it
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 26 Jun @ 10:50pm
So average Steam workshop user? XD
Chip 26 Jun @ 12:50pm
I can't read.
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 25 Jun @ 8:32am
It doesn't have any bugs unless you can provide logs :)
Jabberwocky887 25 Jun @ 8:31am
1.6 has a bug. After leaving the library, a raid is spawned like 2 per second. Library location doesn't disappear and just floods with mechs.
Consigned to Oblivion 25 Jun @ 6:58am
I'm getting vanilla and VE books as well, every settlement has like 5 books, bulk traders have a couple, vanilla expanded medieval 2 has the merchant guild that has like 30+ books each, so I pick the highest quality ones.
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 25 Jun @ 6:31am
How are you collecting hundreds of these?
Consigned to Oblivion 25 Jun @ 6:30am
Will you add something like RimWriter's bookcases? How am I to collect hundreds of items if the bookcase only holds a few?
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 24 Jun @ 6:49am
v2.0:

SKI-N 20 Jun @ 11:44am
can you pee on my pillow?
Mage of Fables 9 Jun @ 9:23pm
Is this compatible with Vanilla Books Expanded?
Bustly 4 Jun @ 11:10pm
:(
Sarg Bjornson  [author] 4 Jun @ 11:02pm
Not wanted
Bustly 4 Jun @ 9:59pm
So y'know REEE BLOAT!!! and all of that but can you bloat it more by allowing colonists to auto-read the books once they're used for recreation or xp or whatever?
Binguswingus 25 May @ 1:31am
Hello! So quick question about the ruined books, is there any way later on that you can either fix them up or would that not be an option?
