Sola Fide sayin that shit when all the dumb ass heavy weapons already exist in vanilla Kenshi lmao. Love this anime sword, it's fun and not super overpowered like half the weapon mods I see.

This weapon would never work in real life, it would get stuck in cloth and metal. Total fantasy weapon, sure it looks cool and all but it's a terrible design realistically.

Serrated edges often struggle with fabric armour. This is cause the fabrics often get bunched up and prevent the blade from sliding across. Is it possible to make it so that it specifically suck against fabrics but not heavy armour? I'd say likely not but it's worth consideration.
For the boosts & debuffs I think it should be more specialised, like -5% damage on humanoids, -10% on animals, & +10% on robots and +5% for hivers and other insectoids like skimmers. This'd really emphasise this as a specialised saw-blade.

Awesome model. It still gave me very strong katana class vibes so I personally changed it to that, but the way it looks fits in perfectly with the world

A wise decision! I have Oni faction roaming in the Venge so it makes it the most difficult zone in the whole game (especially bc they take your corpse str8 to the peeler).
More reasons to visit the Ashlands now <3 It makes sense lore-wise too, no human could survive in the Ashlands so the remnants of the Second Empire are at the biggest disadvantage when it comes to other Skeletons.

You would only need to import if you want the Meitou version. If you haven't been to Ashlands Dome III you might not need to import at all.

Agnu is a broken Skeleton, with a Meitou robot-hacker, caged, outmanned 2v1 in a desolate Tower? That makes an absolute sense and is a way of showing and not telling the story.

Seconding adding in a unique NPC. You'll bypass any potential conflicts with other added weapon mods for certain that way. Plus I'd argue that a single NPC is less invasive to the vanilla experience than the addition of the weapon itself, so long as they're not over the top in design or dialogue.

I think adding an NPC wouldn't be too bloaty (Is that a word?), especially if you add them to a not often used area such as Dreg, Cheaters Run, Iron Trail, etc to avoid conflicts with other mods.

I'd say just include it as a standalone mod. I believe most people would download it regardless to get a Meitou version they wont need to craft/cheat in.

I was debating adding a +2 defense bonus for that exact reason, but I figured maybe it's still hard to block with and that would cancel any sort of bonus. I'll probably put the +2 bonus on. The -15% on animals is a mistake on my part, I originally had it at -10%, but I lowered it further because I was testing a 1.1 cut damage modifier for a bit and forgot to change it back. That being said, you make a good point. Even -10% feels excessive so I'm gonna remove the Vs Animals malus entirely.

Strength requirement for weapons should be either the Blunt Damage x 40 OR it's weight (whichever is higher), so the requirements for this are a bit lower than the Falling Sun. Some sample stat requirements:

Rusting Junk: 10
Refitted Blade: 14
Catun No. 1: 20
Catun No. 3: 27
Mk I: 28
Mk III: 34
Edge Type 1: 40
Edge Type 3: 45
Meitou: 56

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I honestly agree. Some of the stats choices were for game balancing reasons, but I'm thinking I might be able to move stuff around and make the stats fit the design better. Something like this is what I've been thinking:

Armor Penetration: 20%
Blunt Damage Multiplier: 0.7
Cut Damage Multiplier: 1.1
Vs Humans: 10%
Vs Robots: 5%

Not going to change anything just yet though, I want to think it through a bit more.

Been busy, sorry for the late reply. I really appreciate the comments guys! Honestly didn't expect too much traction on this so it's wild to me that people are using it in their saves.

It's not obtainable through normal gameplay right now, sorry. It is added to the "Cross" manufacturer, but you'd have to use the FCS to modify your save, as I haven't given a Meitou version to an NPC. I have an idea for a custom NPC but I might just pick an existing NPC for right now. Not sure who to give it to.

Ashlands boss might be good but I think they all have Meitou already, right? I second the Metallic Weapons and the Dust Gold Meitou mods, use both of them myself.


If I do add an NPC with a Metiou version, should I include it in this mod, or add it as a separate mod that has this mod as a dependency? I don't want to force someone to add bloat to the game world if they don't want to, but I also don't want to clutter up people's mod lists.

Someone has been in hiding for some years just to master their craft and offer quality stuff..

Just pointing out.. Due to the design, this should have a bit of Defense bonus. That shape is good as catching blades. Also that -15% on animals is a bit tough. Animals don't block ok but as someone below pointed out, this weapon can tear flesh apart easily.
Just IMHO.

Meitou is still unavailable BUT you can open your save file in Forgotten Construction Set (.exe file in Kenshi folder), strip your character of anything BUT the blade (of any quality), open your squad (Usually called Nameless0.platoon) and edit Material and Company SID to Meitou ones.

That's one brutal looking blade, the name is a nice pairing with the Falling Sun too. Just for clarification, I'm assuming that the Meitou is completely unobtainable in game right now, or is it just tucked away hidden as secret loot currently?
