The latest update is causing problems with this mod. When I tried to fire a bow the game crashes.

I have a bug and I have pasted the offending lines of the console.txt log file:

This bug happens when I shoot at a zombie (I tried to shoot with and without the ragdolls option) and crashes my game. Unfortunately, this is not a perfectly repeatable behaviour - if I load my pre-crash savegame, for instance, and try to shoot at the very same zombie, the game will crash again. But if I walk away a bit or make something different, more often than not the game won't crash.

Could be something related to the muzzle flash? Maybe adding it since vanilla Zomboid expects/hardcoded it could fix the problem?
I have the same issue with the Gauss weapons mod too.

Sorry, I cannot be more helpful because I know almost nothing about coding and modding :steamsad:

i already tried that and it didnt work. I tried putting them on the group, in a container, in my bag, in the main inventory, everything it does say the craft thing is false tho is there a way to change that?

@The Watcher try putting all the materials in the main player inventory last time that bug ocurred to me it seemed to work if i put all the materials for the craft in the main inventory

hi i got a problem with the mod it says i can craft a item but it doesnt use any of the mats for the thing and doesnt produce the item either. I did see in the item spawn list it says the item is false for craft but some items are set to true for foraging for some reason. not sure if its a mess up or something

@Codemonkey3 @RobotSam will try to add compatibility with atro in the near future, hand crossbows have been bugged since patch 42.10 because i couldn't find what causes it yet sorry

I've got a different issue, i'm using the trajectory overhaul mod and have been enjoying the crude and improved crossbows. wanted to try the hand crossbow, wouldn't let me load bolts, as i was switching bolt types the hand crossbow evaporated, self destructed into oblivion

I see you patched the Point Blank Mod. Are you able to take a look at ATRO and see if you can patch the duplicating bolts? If you shoot a Zed, the bolt will always double.

I encountered a bug: after looting a hand crossbow from a zombie and finding a set of metal bolts, I holstered the crossbow and tried to load it with the metal bolts—nothing happened. Then, when I clicked to load wooden bolts instead, the crossbow disappeared.

This mod seems to conflict with Point Blank, as I noticed that crossbows deal no damage when both are enabled. When I disabled this mod, the crossbow worked normally again. Hopefully, compatibility can be added in the future... 😕

I don't think this mod is actually working, I have never found a crossbow or crossbow related item/skillbook.

Tested after you updated the mod and it now breaks the sound of other firearms, makes them silent as if they were suppressed or use the sound of crossbow

Checked with only your mod enabled.

@我是一个小菜坤 maybe a mod overrides the same function as this one and it bugs out, will try to fix this in the future

@SDgamer i didn't add it yet because its missing it's model and i don't make those i only do code and textures, zer0 is the one who makes the models and he won't make anything till they readd MP(he plays MP only) so could be during unstable if it re-releases during it

That's really strange... If you only have this mod installed, attacks deal damage normally. But when multiple mods are involved, it stops working — does anyone know why?

Pardon me asking but, are waiting for Stable to come out or are you adding the Mag Fed Crossbow durring Unstable? As someone who likes the Urban Survival style of game play i really do need a crossbow like that

@OxTailSafu i tthink you could but since most cans of that type are made from aluminum it's very bendable unlesss its a thick sheet so it's penetration wouldn't be as good as the other ones that is if it could penetrate at alll

Yeah no worries! I absolutely love this mod, so I've just been throwing the tin cans. Do you think it'd make sense to allow soda cans to be used as well for arrow heads?

@OxTailSafu i might have forgot to make it consume in the recipe, sorry but i have no pc rn so i can't really do anything until around next week when it is supossed to be fixed so i guess just throw the cans in the trash? will fix when i have my pc again

I wanted to report a bug regarding making a Crossbow Bolt Head with Tin Cans. It looks like the recipe isn't consuming the cans so you can make an infinite amount of ammo from them.

@stevenpiamba96 maybe? i haven't used that mod but some people reported some things from this will behave wierdly when using rains, like bolts duping when killing zombies, or not being able to convert attachments

@浟伊 maybe will remove it from the crude crossbow recipe but it's definitelly needed for the other ones, also forgot to add the stone drill as a possible tool

@HergenDergen that's from back when i tried making them have actual reload time but seems like it's tied to animations, only way that i could think of to increase it would be with a custom reload animation which is currently out of my skill level

@Davlon_Valavaern will add a way to make bolt heads with metal in the future

Thanks for getting it working! It's so sick having a crossbow mod in B42 again!

I've noticed after poking around in the scripts and Lua files that each crossbow + String/Wire type has it's own bespoke reload speed value, but after some testing in game in an isolated context, every crossbow and string type is currently reloading at the same speed, even after changing the ReloadTime value in the scripts folder to different values, the reload speed doesn't seem to change in game despite the Show Weapons Stats Plus mod reflecting the altered values.

I would love to know if there's any way to get those bespoke reload speeds from the PWPNXB_crossbowsWire & PWPNXB_crossbowsTwines' ReloadTime values to work as the current blanket reload speed allowing around 1 shot a second feels a little fast/powerful at the moment.

I do have to say, I'm not a fan of needing to use stone heads on wooden bolts now, instead of being able to make them with scrap metal. I think having both as an option would be better.

In the debug, it shows the error is found in shared/TimedActions/ISReloadWeaponAction.lua, shared/TimedActions/Firearms_ISReloadWeaponAction.lua, shared/TimedActions/PWPNXBReloadWeaponAction.lua.
